I'm a wing snob and everyone said you have to go to CJ's for wings. I got 12 wings, 6 buffalo & 6 lemon pepper and they did not disappoint. They were very good size, cooked perfectly, and had great flavor. I've had wings from many places in different states and these were no doubt top 3 to me. Ambiance of the restaurant was great too.

Great local atmosphere, hometown bar with good bar food selections. prices were fair and service was great. I'd recommend this bar/restaurant to anyone looking for a place to get a drink and something to eat. Multiple flat screen TVs and great rock-n-roll playing in the bar. outside seating on site. Free WiFi

Such a neat spot to stop and hang out while in Bryson City. We stopped for a beer the first day and came back the second day to eat and have another drink. Stephanie was so sweet and personable! I would say she's a true gem of Bryson City and CJs We will be back!

The Angus burger and fries are KILLER, escorted by a couple of Innovations Brewery's IPA down the hatch! Service is definitely "Hometown" atmosphere.

We stopped in here for lunch after hiking to the falls in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Located in the heart of Bryson City. We enjoyed beers, burgers and salads.

First visit, Saturday lunch. Seems a lot of restaurants in town are just opening post-Covid. Social distance seating was intact. We sat on their porch overlooking the train depot. I had a cheeseburger and onion rings and they had full flavor and juiciness that I would expect. My wife had the chicken fingers & fries and said that they were good and above the average. This place appears to be first and foremost a bar and is a little bit grungy inside. I used the men's room and it was in dire need of a make-over. Worst yet, with all of the concerns over Covid, the hygiene factor was not especially good. The large roll of paper towel that should have been placed in the paper towel dispenser was lazily left sitting on top of their nasty sink. Interesting enough, I stopped by this same restaurant later that evening to have a beer; they were out of their local beers, which is why I came there so I declined any beer. I used the restroom before I left and that same roll of towel was sitting on top of the sink, half wet due to everyone having to pick it up to tear off towel and then sitting it back down on the wet sink top. Eight hours had went by since I had lunch there! The owner was also there at this time. With the supposed concern with Covid, they might want to start by at least keeping their restroom up to code. Minimum 1 star deduction for poor restroom servicing.

I found The Sassy but Sweet bartender at CJ's. Caitlyn is the BOMB! Richard

Looking for a place to go before taking the Polar Express train ride we decided to come into Bryson City to eat. We thought we would give CJ's a chance. We were seated promptly and we had 10 people total. The waitress was quick to get our drink orders and very efficient at getting our order to the table. I got the BLT with chips and some got the burgers. I think everyone enjoyed the food and the service was excellent.

The best tater tots this side of the mississippi

These tater tots are the most nostalgic thing I've eaten in years. Cooked to perfection. Amazing staff. Amazing food. Certainly hit the spot.

    Eh, it's just OK.

The buffalo chicken flatbread was OK. I did like the crust. There was very little chicken on it and for $15, they could have used a bit more. Reading the past reviews, there seems to be regular issues with people sharing, even if they're ordering the same amount of entrées as people. While we weren't charged like other people, we had an odd experience with getting plates to share entrees. When we were served our lunch, we asked for two plates so we could share. We were first offered two tiny ones, like the size of a saucer that would go under a coffee cup. we asked for larger ones so we could split the entrées and eat on our separate plates but was only brought one. We gave up then but it was strange like no one's ever wanted to share food before? All in all it was fine. We sat at outside table which was nice and it's in a good location, right downtown.

Built in 1920, it is a throw back to another era. Wooden walls created from lumber from the smokies. Beautiful lobby and grounds that make you seem miles away from Byson City. When you are actually blocks away from the cutest town in North Carolina. We are treated like family, welcomed in the dining room and treated like family, in general. Since my husband and I seek out "restored historical bed and breakfasts or Inns" this is one of our favorites. Dinner and Breakfast are included with your stay. These meals are not the kind you find at a regular motel; these are cooked to order meals. Fruit, eggs, potatoes, grits, country ham, etc for breakfast and for dinner, oh wow. I have had lamb shank each time I have eaten here, and it is wonderful. One night I had prime rib, and I could cut it with a bread knife. My only regret is this. In the 40's and 30's trains used to bring people in to stay at the INN. The INN had a band and dancing, and people dressed up like a Bing Crosby movie. Every time I stay there, I feel that atmosphere. Sorry, no band. How do I know so much about the Fryemont? I read the walls and books of letters, menus and other such documentation that line the walls. One more thing, there is a small bar, and the bar tender looks, and I think acts like Bobby Knight. If you don't order your drink quickly enough, he might throw a chair at you. Kidding, he is good fun..

Food is cheap and of very poor quality and the bar only serves the cheapest liquor. A financial injection and serious overhaul is what this place needs, but the way it looks is that it will continue to do business until it can't do business no more and I suspect that once that happens will close forever. Our meal was perhaps the worst meal I had, maybe ever. Sadly cooked frozen veg, canned soup and potato pearls turned mash. Nursing home grub. Which was also the feel of the dining room, an old decrepit nursing home. Despite the nostalgic feelings this place evokes, I would eat and sleep somewhere else. I'm sorry but there's just no need to lie.
