Quote was emailed and signed electronically after questions promptly answered by phone. Was told skylights (2) might take a week or two to arrive. 10 days later got a call that they were in and said they could install next day if that worked for me. On job day, I was concerned when they discovered rotten plywood, thinking this is where the price skyrockets, but it went up only $225 to replace the sheet, which I thought very fair knowing it added a couple of hours to the job. They started at 8am and after extensive cleanup were gone by 3pm. Project Mgr stopped in several time during that day, and helped us connect the solar power shades and remotes to our home WIFI network. The crew were respectful all day. Overall extremely pleased with the solar powered shades/skylights and vendor. Would definitely recommend both to anyone in the future. If one regret. We deciding on light filtering shades and wish we had decided on room darkening instead. One last comment. A week after the job complete I went up to the roof for my annual gutter cleaning. I was shocked to find this gutter was completely cleaned out by the crew during the job! Who does that? And they didn't even tell me to try to score bonus points with me - they just did it because it needed to be cleaned and they had handy access to do so!

I recently had A1 Gutters and Roofing replace my roof, and I couldn't be happier with the results…read more I found them online and got quotes from six different contractors, but I didn't choose A1 because they were the cheapest -- I chose them because of their thoroughness and professionalism. Before starting the job, they conducted a detailed evaluation of the roof and did the same once the work was complete, to make sure everything was done right from start to finish. They also brought in a licensed electrician to properly disconnect and reinstall my solar panels, and thoroughly tested them afterward to confirm everything was working correctly. In addition to the roof, they rebuilt my chimney and installed beautiful new 6" gutters -- the whole property looks fantastic. What really stood out was how flexible and fair they were during negotiations. We worked together to agree on a contract that worked for both of us, including a 50-year extended material warranty and a 25-year workmanship warranty. On top of that, they went above and beyond and threw in an extra item as a gift, which I really wasn't expecting. A1 Gutters and Roofing is professional, skilled, and honest from start to finish. I highly recommend them -- give them a call; you won't be disappointed!

A1 Gutter and Roofing in Garfield, NJ is no exception. So too have we heard and, perhaps, experienced some dishonesty among this lot. So it is significant when one discovers a contractor who is legit, trustworthy, and highly professional. Having to replace an entire roof including structural repairs of its wooden beams, new insulation, and re-bricking of the upper portion of the chimney was a major undertaking. The entire project took two weeks. It's impossible to describe just how well this job was accomplished. Picture may do it some justice. Overall, this customer is pleased beyond measure. My home is basically surrounded by trees. I was requiring gutter cleaning about every other month…read moreso I decided to do something about it. I'd gone online and read numerous horror stories about companies that rip people off on gutter guards but I needed them desperately so I decided to bite the bullet. I called NJ Home Maintenance and scheduled an appointment for an appointment. A few short days later they arrived at the house for the estimate. They dropped off a few samples along with an explanation sheet explaining the benefits of each. I was rather surprised by the price which I consider to be more than fair. I hired them on the spot and could not be more pleased. The work performed, punctuality and communication were all without parallel. Speaking as someone who is very meticulous with the maintenance of their home, I can recommend them without reservation. Kudos much thanks.

Sorry for the late post. This work was done in 2024…read more Had a leak coming into the basement around the chimney area. Called Reese & Sons because of their high rating and positive reviews. Lucas answered while on an existing job. He was very honest saying he can't drop by to make an assessment. Knowing the importance of the situation, he said he'll have his father drop by to take a look. The father (was it Joe?) came by as promised and saw that the previous roofer didn't put flashing around a portion of the chimney. He gave a couple of possible fixes and I picked the more expensive one. He gave me a break on price if i went with the more expensive fix which i appreciated. Before showing up for the work due to budgeting issues i changed to the lower price solution. He didn't have any problems with this change. He and his other son (not Lucas) came on the day as promised. The funny thing was I didn't know they were there until i heard banging outside! They ripped some of the old roof tiles, installed new flashing and overlay them with some leftover tiles I had laying around. They also caulked around other parts of the chimney. They cleaned up their mess. There were aome storms afterwards and no leak! Thx to Lucas for knowing the importance of the problem and having your father and brother fit me into their schedule.
