Normally this is a great spot to eat but today I had a horrible experience we placed a big order and we paid separately, the guy who takes orders messed up or got confused and was saying that two of the orders were not paid for even though we knew they were. We had to call the other people we were with to confirm which they did but he kept insisting he did not make mistakes. Then he was cursing in the back saying he was getting f***ed on this. When we all got back we double checked to make sure everything was paid for and it was and he also double charged us for a burrito. I called him back just to let him know and I could tell by the tone of his voice he did not believe me and then he hung up on me, slow down dude check your orders terrible customer service. I've been coming to CJ's for a while now. I really like their sandwiches here, especially the Turkado. The Turkado you ask??? The Turkado sandwich has turkey, avocado, and cheese and you can ask for it on their delicious squaw bread. Everything is better on squaw bread! The soups here are pretty good too. I usually go for the chicken and rice, as it's really flavorable and keeps you feeling full all day. Overall, this place is a pretty good lunch spot. read more

Ok so I've been meaning to leave a review for CJ Deli for so long. I come here once a week even though I have to show serious restraint from returning more often than that. I get a chicken salad sandwich on squaw bread and it's the most delicious chicken salad sandwich I've had in Orange County. It's fresh and light and perfect and I'll continue to eat here for as long as I work in cypress. Staff is super kind and wonderful as well. Never had a poor experience, ever. With new owners everything has changed, service is very friendly but the food quality has changed and not for the best! Food is not as tasty and skimp on some of the items that makes the sandwich! Triology sandwich is turkey, avocado and bacon but hardly any avocado. Rice is of lesser quality, now it has a odor that it's hard to take. Chicken soup no flavor but very salty! read more

Absolutely a hidden gem. Very consistent flavor each time I've gone there (probably more than 10x). I feel bad just leaving a review just now. I love the tuna melt here. I always get the breakfast burrito (chorizo). What makes this place 5 star is the fact that I was there at 245 pm and did not realize they only served breakfast at 1030 am. The chef was nice enough to accommodate my order. I would've ordered a different sa which had I known. It wasn't until they said ok that I realized it was only served until 1030 am. I ordered the turkey, swiss, avocado on sourdough to go. I pulled over to eat my sandwich and right away first bite BAM the bread is stale! To make matters worse the turkey meat they used tasted exactly like that ghetto brand of deli meet you find in the store called Budding...It basically tastes like an eraser from a #2 pencil..The cashier guy is friendly but its too bad my sandwich i had to toss out the window. Cjs used to be really good until ownership changed. Now everything is way over priced and quality is down. Every time I go there something is wrong. Was never the case with John. I ordered hot Italian sausage and cheese (like I always do) went to take a bite and there was no cheese. Owner lady argued with me and said she put three pieces in there. I opened sandwich and clearly showed her there was no cheese. Instead of making a new one, she grabs my samdwhich and throws cheese in it. It's a bummer to write this , but I will not be going back. I pass by CJ's Deli almost everyday heading to work. I even bookmarked them on yelp! I'm so mad that it took me this long to finally stop and try their food. Their deli is right around the corner off Ball and Walker in Cypress, right next to Brusters Ice Cream and Subway. I ordered The Turkado sandwich #53: (Turkey, avocado and cheese) on Squaw bread with Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, jalapenos and a little bit of onion. I substituted the mayo for mustard and everything was made just right. I took my first bite and my tastebuds were doing a Happy Dance!! Haha but seriously, every bite was delicious. I also like that they have vegetarian options and a healthier sandwich side on their menu, #1-7, they said their #7 The Vegetarian (avocado, sprout, cucumber, egg, carrot) is one of the popular ones to order. They even have a big selection of salads to order from too. They have a pretty good selection of sandwiches to choose from. Cold sandwiches #10 Chicken Salad, #15 Capicola, #18 Egg Salad; Hot sandwiches like their #19 Tuna Melt and #23 Pastrami; and Special sandwiches, like their famous #54 The Hero (roast beef, ham, turkey, cheese), #51 The Wall Street (pastrami, turkey, ham), and #52 The Trilogy (turkey, bacon, avocado). I'll sum it up. It's a fantastic sandwich shop run by a mom and son who are self-proclaimed, anti-social Koreans. I was literally told by their son that they aren't open on weekends because they don't like dealing with anyone other than the "working class." This is a small sandwich joint on the corner of Ball and Walker. The place is clean and the AC is working well - specially coming here on a triple digit temp day. It's a comfortable place to spend 10-12 minutes enjoying a sandwich. The guy at the counter / owner was friendly. Having no one else in here at 1:45 PM on a Thursday afternoon, they got me my 10" #49 (Italian Submarine) fairly quickly. It came sliced in half and wrapped nicely in paper which made it easy to eat. Besides bottled and fountain drinks, there was brewed iced tea in a plastic pitcher on the counter. The sandwich tasted fresh. Flavor wasn't too overpowering, since ingredients most likely have NOT been sitting there forever like at other sandwich places. I could still taste the deli meats. I liked the Italian dressing on the #49 sub (reminded me of Jersey Mike's) and I requested that they add red onions. I paid over $11 for the sandwich with chips and a drink which is a little more than what I would have spent had I gone to subway. But I like the taste of their sandwiches better and I'd rather support smaller/local businesses. read more

Picked up from here on the way home from work yesterday and the sandwiches were great. I had pastrami on squaw and it was perfect! I am always apprehensive when I order pastrami because so many places are too tough or too thick. Not CJ Deli! Sliced thin and so tender! Got the large sandwich and it served as dinner, midnight snack, and next day lunch. Very reasonable price for the quality and quantity! Will say the top bread didn't hold up for the next day (it was on the lettuce side, so it got some sog) but I removed it and folded my sandwich over for a double stack. My brother enjoyed the chicken teriyaki plate. Pics next time - there will definitely be a next time! read more
