Carlos came to check on my malfunctioning AC unit. They came and diagnosed that the compressor was bad and was still under warranty since it was only 2.5 years old. This diagnosis cost $75. This was on Thursday. Friday, I provided them with all the info I had including the receipt, distributor on where it was purchased and even phone numbers. They were supposed to get in contact with the distributor and start the process. Carlos said He would call them and that was the last I have heard from him in over a week. No return calls or even return texts. Can't trust this kind of person who does business this way. I hate to leave negative reviews unless it is warranted, in this case it was. I can only assume they don't want this job because I wasn't buying a new AC unit from them where they could profit from it. read more

Carlos is solid. He came to my place and knew exactly what to do on top of my two story condo. Very knowledgeable and experienced. Took care of my old old ac unit and made it work like brand new. Came back whenever I asked to ensure quality. Definitely can't recommend a better guy to repair your ac unit. read more

Carlos Gonzalez and his crew did the job for my Sears home warranty plan that other companies just bait and switched and wanted to deny my claim and just give a phony report so they could get the job themselves and try to cut out Sears completely!:) Carlos did an honest quote and I got a brand new A/C system installed that I deserved under my warranty plan that I had been paying on for over 2 years! Carlos and his team worked their ass off last summer during the heat wave and didn't stop working until the job was done till after 10 pm at night! Thanks again for not only exceeding all my expectations but thanks for your honest work ethic so I can be comfortable in my townhome with a new reliable cooling system to keep me and my family cool!!! I would recommend Carlos and CJ Cooling&Heating to all of friends who need his services! Thanks again my friend - you and your company are Awsome! Tim S. read more

This contractor was assigned to do a repair in Irvine by First American Home Warranty. The email said to call the contractor if the contractor did not call me by the end of the next business day. The contractor did not call so I called at the end of the next business day. I called 12 times before reaching a receptionist. Each time I called the phone went to voice-mail and said the mail box was full. The receptionist set a service appointment 2 days later at 1:00. When there was no show by 2:00, so I called the contractor 13 times. Each time it went to voice mail and said the mailbox was full. This is terrible customer service and I cannot recommend this company for any reason to anyone. First American re-assigned this service call to another contractor. read more

I have nothing to say other than to give praise for Carlos, and his company CJ Cooling and Heating. For starters, they were on time every morning and ready go at 8 AM (I've worked with installers of all kinds and this is not a given). Regardless of the heat, he and his workers always wore masks, which in this crazy time of Covid made me feel comfortable. When Carlos presented me with his bid he gave me a price which was the lowest of 6 estimates. My wife and I recently bought a home which had not been upgraded. The furnace was original and needed replacing, and there was no air conditioning at all. Carlos stuck to his price and never tried to upsell me in any way through the course of the job, something that unfortunately many other contractors have tried to do to me. He work came in at cost, not a penny over. More importantly, you could tell Carlos took a great deal of pride in his work, something you don't always see nowadays. In my prior house the AC installer did a competent job, but the final fit and finish was poor quality. Carlos placed my AC compressor between some bushes so it didn't stand out and laid the cooling lines in a way that they didn't glaringly show up against the house. In this sense, I felt he paid a real attention to details. Finally, when I had new cabinets installed they interfered with the location of the old AC register and I needed to have it moved quickly. Carlos showed up early in the morning, moved the register, extended the line, and only charged me for parts. That's just not something people do nowadays. So in short, CJ cooling does quality work at an affordable price. Carlos is a guy you can trust, so don't be afraid to reach out to him. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. This review is based off of my experience with Carlos. He is extremely unprofessional. We've been dealing with an A/C issue since the end of June. Unfortunately, our home warranty company is contracted with CJ Cooling. Otherwise I would not have wasted the time! Carlos came to our house due to a leak from our unit onto the master bedroom ceiling upstairs. He told us he unclogged it so we proceeded to replace the drywall. During the replacement the unit started leaking again, this time even more. We called another company to do the diagnostic because the drywall people said whoever "fixed it" before did a terrible job. When the other company came out they showed us pictures of the rusted coils and drain pan that was causing the leak which Carlos failed to diagnose the first time! Now we have to have the drywall redone! We contacted our home warranty company so they can handle the repair but who did they schedule to do them? Carlos! Mind you, it's over 100 degrees in Hesperia and all of the other A/C companies were booked for over a week out, so we agreed to Carlos coming as long as he looked into the coil issue. He was scheduled to come today at 6AM but later texted he wouldn't get there until 10AM. When I called him after he failed to show up even after 11AM he didn't answer any of my calls. Finally he calls me back on another number he didn't recognize at 12 noon! Where was he? NOWHERE NEAR OUR HOME. When I confront him about the missed appointment he tells me he had a doctor's appointment. Really? We confirmed this appointment last week! But his excuse to my husband was he was "getting his truck fixed". Then he proceeds to laugh when I tell him it's hot and we've been dealing with this issue for over a month. He LAUGHED. Buyer beware!!! read more

My mother was having trouble finding an honest and knowlegable person to fix her broken air conditioner. Luckily she had a neighbor that recommended Cj Cooling to her. She called the tech Sunday thinking that she would have to wait a week for an appointment but surprisingly, the tech happily offered to check out the air conditioner the same day! Carlos(the technician) is a nice, knowlegable, and honest person and I would highly recommend him to anyone. read more

We called CJ Cooling and heating out to service our AC unit. Not only did they respond quickly but were also very knowledgeable and professional. Their pricing was fair and they didn't try to up sell us in anything. We will definitely be using them again. read more

This Contractor had absolutely horrid Customer Service and the work was not any better. Unfortunately I was assigned this contractor by First American Home Warranty so I didn't have a choice. Missed appointments, multiple reschedules, late to every appointment they did make and I'm pretty sure the guy who showed up was on some type of drug. After my air conditioner didn't work when they completely replaced the condenser, another company came out and told me that the evaporator coil needed replacement as well. To my dismay, First American sent this contractor back out to look at it again. He then assured me that the evaporator coil didnt need replacing and replaced the filter drier instead. I used the a/c about 3 or 4 times after that since at this point summer was already coming to a close. Now, the following summer, the a/c unit is not working again, my warranty is up and I will likely have to front the cost of an evaporator coil replacement AND a new compressor for the condenser since I'm pretty sure its failed from running improperly. My system was converted from R22 to R410. After doing some reading on the net it seems that replacing the evaporator coil is common practice when switching refrigerants, so why did this contractor not know that...especially after a secondary contractor came out and said that was the issue to begin with? All around the most terrible experience I've had dealing with a contractor and thats saying a lot considering I was in the Home Building Industry for almost a decade. read more
