Stopped in while we explored Webster Groves and decided to go into their little wine/alcohol shop. I was so impressed by their selection of beverages and their household items. We ended up getting a bottle of Molly Baz's wine which I have been looking for a while. We stopped into their clothing store and all their items were beautiful. I've heard great things about this store and was able to finally stop in on Sunday for a few last minute Christmas gifts. I was informed that they carry some rare finds and unique liquors. Ian, the owner helped me. I was across the street at Field Theory, speaking foodie adventures with him. I mentioned how I had been meaning to checkout Civil Alchemy and he offered to show me the shop so I could see the offerings. I can't tell you enough how friendly and helpful he was, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. I was able to ask Ian about several liquors I was interested in and how do they sip, if they are as smooth as people say, what liquors in the store are unique and more..... The shop is soo cute and quaint, very hip and modern. I absolutely LOVE this store!!! I expressed to Kyle my love of bourbon and collecting hard to find liquors. Ian not only introduced me to a chocolate bourbon, I asked him how to drink it and he informed me I could consume it straight or add Bailey's. Ian also showed me 4 other liquors in the store that are limited edition. I purchased the chocolate bourbon of course and a Japanese Whiskey. The shop has soo much to offer besides liquors. They sell bitters, mixers, cocktail and wine books, utensils and more...... I highly recommend checking out this shop. Great local find in the heart of old Webster (Old Orchard). This is a wonderful bespoke store full of things to make you feel good look good smell good drink good and overall life good. From the fresh flowers to the custom candles and fragrances to the staple clothing pieces that stand the test of time everything is perfect. I love this store. I cannot believe I did not discover it until I moved away from STL and came back for a day of shopping and eating. The scary thing is, I lived at Jamieson and 44 which wasn't that far away. Oh, well at least I finally found it. This store has gifts and fashions for everyone. If you need a unique gift for that person, who is like me who and hard to shop for, come here and you'll find the perfect gift. If I could give a zero I would. I've never quite experienced ageism like this. The lady with red hair that helped me. She actually said," really that's for you ? thought that was for the younger girl that you're with. She stuck me in the dressing room with all of the warehouse boxes. Didn't ask me if I needed any sizes, but she definitely did to the younger girl that I was with. I usually spend about $1500 here when I'm in town, but I will never ever come back nor recommend this to locals. Shame on you all. I guess good to shop if you are 20. read more

Great little shop with a variety of options. On the main strip in Webster Groves. I was craving Sump Coffee, but due to the quarantine I didn't want to deivand was directed to Civil Alchemy. Civil Alchemy is rad af. This place stands out as one of the best places in Saint Louis to buy, honestly, just about anything. It's a modern general store, it truly has a pretty vast collection of supplies from fresh flowers, home goods, and clothing to camping supplies, and anything you would need for a cocktail party. Not only do they have it, but their products beam with such obvious quality and it sets them apart from just any ole' shop. The family that runs this place is committed to display the vibrancy of Saint Louis and all that it has to offer. They are some creative folks. Just look at the store, it's such a beautiful and comfortable space. If that weren't enough, they have a flower bar, where you can put together a bouquet of fresh flowers. I had heard good things about Civil Alchemy so I popped in while shopping in Webster for a gift for my Dad's 70th birthday. They had an impressive collection of liquor for a smaller space with a lot of other local goodies to easily make a nice gift basket. I opted for a bottle of bourbon and a jar of bourbon cherries they had in the same section. I had wanted some Sump Coffee and was afraid I wasn't going to have time to get to their store that day so I was happy to find Sump beans available here. I grabbed an extra bag for my husband as well. Prices were really comparable to buying the beans at Sump. Check out was friendly and easy! I went ahead and kept the liquor in the bag since it was attractively wrapped. Will definitely be back again! read more

Such a cool store. They have a little of everything (seriously: from camping gear to craft beer) and seem to highlight local and independent brands. Always nice to see St. Louis and KC companies having a spotlight in neighborhood shops. A lot of it is well over my personal budget but that's just one person's situation. From the perspective of high quality and stylish stuff, they're spot on. They have clothing, fresh flowers, housewares, decor, linens, stationary, shelf-stable goods and all of it is really fun to look through and browse. I wish I could've taken more of it with me. I ended up buying this awesome glass salad dressing bottle that has markers to help you make your own salad dressings at home. It being around the new year, I'll be trying to eat a little healthier and make more things at home, so I'm super glad to have found such a handy kitchen tool! This is an awesome local shop that provided me several gifts and stocking stuffers for Christmas! You can park in the back parking lot and enter from the rear if you can't find parking on Big Bend. They even have some reserved spots on the far end of the lot, right by the door. The shop is divided into two parts - one with clothes, accessories (jewelry, etc), camping/survival gear and kids stuff (small selection). The other side is the general store, with tons of local food and drink items, plus some cooking/kitchenware. I found a lot of unique things here, which was appreciated by the recipients!
