Although it sucked to be the person that got towed, MY GOD, these are some kind ppl that really are doing their job. The dispatch and the tow guys were really professional and just good ppl. I'll have to come back in the morning, fingers crossed lol but I can go home tonight and know that my car isn't sitting in some janky lot with mean ppl. Please be kind to them! read more

Nacho came and saved the day! We were stranded on I-680 on a Saturday afternoon. Good Sam Roadside dispatched Civic City Towing. Nacho arrived, he was friendly, quick and had us on the road in no time. Thank you! read more

The service was decent because the communication was good and the driver tried his best, although he made me very nervous by transporting my trailer and most valuable equipment is a sketchy way, in my opinion. As you can see in the photos, the trailer tire is hanging off the rollback. There was another option which would have worked and been much safer. Secondly, I thought the invoice was a little too high. The invoice said 4.5 hours. My recollection of the time is based on phone call records and photos, so it is accurate. I made my initial call to Civic Center at 3:30 PM which lasted 7 minutes. the driver arrived at approx 4:30 and loaded up the trailer on the rollback. We got on the road at 5:15. The trip was 21 miles and we arrived at the trailer repair shop at 6:10. It took the driver about 20-30 minutes to offload. So, the time the driver spent with me was about 2 hours, being conservative. That leaves an additional 2.5 hours. I understand the time starts when they leave their towing shop and it ends when they return to the shop. It was 14 miles from the towing shop to the broken trailer and it was about 35 miles return trip. It was rush hour, so the traffic was slow. The earliest they could have started working for me was 3:37 pm, which means they finished working for me at 8:07. Maybe there was an accident on the freeway on the way back to the shop from the trailer repair and maybe the traffic was extra bad, but this trip would normally take 45 minutes if you run the mapping program. My gut feeling of this transaction it that I was overcharged by 1/2 hour at $305 per hour. Furthermore, I was charged $44 for "credit card fee". I had a debit card in my wallet, but I was never told that I would be charged a credit card fee. read more

My car was towed by the police dept. When I called to get my fee's, they explained everything to me in detail. When I picked up my car from them, the lady in the office who helped me was nice and friendly. They made the process so easy and timely. It's not their fault my car was towed, so I didn't take it out on them. read more

Our fifth wheel was stuck in a muddy field after a bunch of rain. Good Sam hooked us up with these people and they were amazing. They assessed the situation and were able to get us out of a jam. Really appreciated the driver and how he handled everything. We were able to get the RV out without any damage and we were back on the road. Thanks a bunch! read more

This is one of those predatory places used by police impounds and city enforcers that the state of Ca passed a law to protect folks from. They don't list pricing as they like to surprise you when you show up. Hours say 24/7 but they hit you with an unadvertised weekend 135 gate fee wether you take it or not. They have a very expensive hourly rate that is also not advertised or explained. So when you call they will not explain its costing you a lot of money to sit there and they tell you to call back later all the while never notifying you of the price waiting. read more

Got my truck stuck deep in the mud, called at 6pm and they were here in 25 minutes. The young fella got my truck out expertly and explained the process to me, which made me feel extremely comfortable. They were professional and respected everybody's time. They didn't try to rip me off or charge ridiculous fees. Overall it was a joyful experience. That lasted until my mechanic charged me $3,000 to get my truck working again. read more

BEWARE OF THIS TOW COMPANY,,SCAMMERS,,SCAMMERS,, so far the worst tow company that I had delt with,, they lied to my drivr saying that they couldn't tow and back a trailer so they talk you into dropping it at their yard and that they will help you out then lock it up and then hold it hostage til you pay a storage fee and set and look you in the eyes and straight lie to you,,BEWARE read more

Our stolen car was unfortunately towed to this yard. After we paid them, our car was parked outside waiting for another tow truck to come. One of their drivers just took it out of that spot and towed it outside their facility without explanation or courtesy to inform us! We just watched him move it. I asked if there were restroom facilities and the person by the window ignored me. The lady flat out said we don't and didn't offer any place nearby. They were just rude and have no sense of customer service at all! read more

A poor excuse for a towing company. My car was towed and that's okay, my fault. The towing company charged for 1 hour 45 minutes for a towing distance of 3.3 miles at 4:30 in the morning. I have watched this company tow other vehicles from my complex and it is never more than a 20 minute operation. They clearly lied about time taken for the tow. There is no possible reason other than trying to extort the public. I'm sure a claim will be made about time to arrive, time to prepare, time to load, time to leave, time to unload, but it is all garbage. This company is mechanical and tow cars consistently - they know how to quickly and efficiently remove vehicles. In addition to lying about the time taken, a tall grey haired man said verbatim to me and my passenger "we try to f*ck people as hard as we can, we bend them over and f*ck them deep". He then continued to brag about selling cars people could not afford to retrieve. An awful stain is all this company is. Every person we interacted with was terrible. I would imagine AAA would not want to be associated with such unprofessionalism. Be weary and try a different tow company for courteous service. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to hear the roar of the flatbed truck pull up to my car. ---in record time--- My car broke down westbound, Hwy 4 on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I was stranded 5 miles from Hwy 80 and 9 miles from Martinez. AAA dispatched a Civic Center Auto Care truck to my aid. A very pleasant driver loaded my car on to the flatbed truck and away we went. It was an easy transition from being in the comfort of my vehicle to the comfort of the Tow Truck. The inside of the truck was pleasantly scented and clean. It wasn't what I pictures. The driver even helped me into and out of the truck. Saying the experience was traumatic is an understatement, The big truck rolled through the small towns on Sir Francis Drake Blvd to Fairfax with ease. The driver handled the tow with care and reassured me that the entire experience would take no more than an hour and the car would be handled with care. I had no choice but to trust the friendly man and let him do his job. The drivers casual demeanour made the experience bearable. During the drive, It was a busy day for Civic Center tow as I heard the dispatcher call out multiple calls around the area and I felt lucky to have my driver come to my rescue within 15 minutes with a flatbed tow truck. read more

Save yourself the trouble and frustration, DO NOT use Civic Center Auto Care. My insurance company called them for me. Jack at Civic Center Auto Care said they would be at my car's location in 45 minutes. An hour goes by, I call, Jack says the driver is stuck in traffic 3 miles away, I could see traffic is moving. 2 hours goes by, Trina from Civic Center Auto Care calls me to tell me it will cost $185, I explain (again) the insurance company is picking up $100 of it, she calls insurance company to confirm and tells me it will be another 30 minutes. Like an idiot I waited for this company for 3 hours. Called a cab, called them from home, another guy says they could be there in 30 minutes. These guys are lower than pond scum, liars and will do their best to rip you off. My insurance company filed a complaint against them as well. Using A1 Towing, $60 less expensive. read more

Don't use this place they are lazy and don't bring the right type of truck to actually remove your vehicle. I suggest not using anyway in the Richmond and Pinole area. Pay a little more and go to a professional read more

Worst place ever. Everyone was rude and unhelpful. The driver gave misleading information that led to them trying to charge me almost $700 for about 30 miles or towing and one night of storage. Everything was supposed to be covered by AAA. It took 6 hours on the phone with my insurance company and AAA to get them to only charge my for the overnight storage which was $80. The whole thing was a horrible scheme to get money. Pretty much holding my car hostage. Dreadful people. If it had taken any longer I would have called the police and filed in small claims court. If you call AAA to get towed, request the they NOT send this company! read more

My car was towed from Bella Vista Apt. while I was visiting a friend. I parked blocking a red zone and waited to long to get back to my car. I first thought my car was stolen, but my friend told me that they have strick policies regarding parking. So I called the police who told me that this company towed my car. I called this company they gave me my charges which were very high in my opinion, but what these days isn't expensive..... I was given directions and charges and proceeded to pick up my vehicle. I had a negative attitude walking into this business but to my suprise it was a very easy process the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. My wait was minimal and my car was pulled out then it wouldn't start ,oh boy. I called AAA it was Civic Center again at least that didnt cost me. All in all for what i had to deal with i wont park my car in the wrong spot ever again! read more

My car was towed and I called them the first time. A guy tells me, I'm not sure if we even have your car, call back after you do some research. I'm thinking are you kidding me. So I call back and a lady answers and she says it's cheaper to wait for Monday and not Sunday to pick it up becuase they are closed and will charge a fee to release it. Then I come in on Monday and another lady tells me it cost more for me waiting and tells me whoever I spoke to was new. So I'm telling her that is not my problem for misinformation given, I'm not paying more if I was told to wait. But she did call her manager and they gave me the price quoted. I gave them 2 stars for going by their first quote, otherwise it was a horrible experience and talk about rude staff. read more

2:00 pm I called AAA, 2:22 pm I hopped on my phone to draft a review. I am still a little in shock at how fast and friendly the service was. Especially considering I was waiting at a residence in the middle of the day. (Read: loooow priority.) Steve arrived within 15 minutes, was very friendly, worked quickly, and went on his way. A+A+A+ for a job very well done. I will call them directly next time I'm in the area and need roadside assistance. Oh, and I know it's dirty work, but extra props for having a clean and put together staff. read more

This has been the worst experience having to deal with some guy called Jim (dispatcher) at civic center towing.~~~I call this guy to get my car out and he asked me if I had enough money.~~ he goes ahead to cuss me out because I didnt give him a yes/no answer to his question and after hungs up! I try calling again thinking he will understand that the reason am calling is to get my car back and the only way to do that is by paying the fees. He yelled some more and hung up again. finally he tells me that I cant get my car back because I didnt answer his qn. Now, this fool thinks he can charge me additional fees meanwhile I came in to have my car released but he would not coz he needed a straight y/n answer to his qn. Let me tell you my friend, messing people's days because u want to make some extra bax on a 2 mile tow is ridiculous. It's always important to employee people with some customer care skills but this guy bares none. nwz, I have filed a police complaint just to make sure I don't get ripped off by this idiot. I was very respectful of him throughout the conversation and am only waiting on what they have to tell me tomorrow. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this company. where was the costomer care a few people are talking about? is it only given to those who call through insurance? read more

I just had my car towed by Vinny. From the minute he commented about the fact that I must like red as I was waiting in my red truck for him to tow my red car, I knew he was very personable and pleasant. He very quickly got the car all set to tow just over a block to the auto shop. He was obviously very experienced and knew exactly how to get into this horrible driveway. There was a big dip going into the driveway so he had to get out and adjust the car so it wouldn't scrape going in. He then had to get out and adjust again since it also had a very steep downgrade into the lot. He accredited this to pulling a trailer from the time he was young. He then backed the car into a fairly tight space on the first try with no back and forth. This was impressive as I have seen people try to back into spaces bigger than that with great difficulty while driving themselves. All in all because of VINNY, this crappy situation was actually pleasant. Most of the time these days everywhere you go you deal with people who are simply at work to put in their time and do as little as possible while there. Vinny does not do that. His outgoing personality puts you at ease and gets you in a better frame of mind! THANK YOU VINNY AND KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! read more

I only dealt with them because my car was stolen, but thankfully they made my experiance a little bit better. The first dispatcher I talked to was very helpful on the process of how I can get my car released. The second dispatcher however, was very rude and seemed to discourage me picking up my car after hours even though I was paying the extra fee. It was the only time I could retrieve my car. Thankfully the actual tow truck driver was extremely friendly and ended my experiance on a good note. read more
