Pros: - Unit is literally on the beach. Although this is located in the heart of Condado, traffic noise is blocked out by wave sounds. - It's also located right next to the Marriott, Walgreens, and restaurants in the area. - Relatively safe. We were followed by a vagrant one evening, but he was easily spotted thanks to bright lights. We kind of forced him pass us and quickly got through the locked gate. Some randoms also asked us to let them into the building claiming they knew someone. We quickly shot them down. There is no way they could "just go up to their cousin's" as each floor has its own elevator key. - Neighbors and staff were friendly. - A studio was more than enough space for two people. Cons: - This is an older building and the exterior reflects that. During our stay, crew was refinishing the front of the apartment, blocking the view/making noise/etc. It didn't matter much as it was only during the day and we stayed out most of the time. - The elevator broke down twice during our stay. We're young and healthy, so had no problem using the stairs, but if you MUST rely on the elevator at all times, this may not be the best rental for you. - There are only two washing machines and two dryers for the whole complex. I suspect some of the units have their own.

I'm coming from Texas and always stays in the Fairmont Austin and it's an amazing and excellent hotel, no doubt. I'll not recommend this hotel to everyone due to the bad room experience and the stuff not being so polite. Location was great and amenities were amazing too, but unfortunately it should not be considered a 5 star hotel.

TIP: beautiful beach that condo leads out too BUT there is a large rock on beach states that sewage sometimes spills out of it onto the beach.. nice beach but not so happy about that... Floors disgusting, hose and tray dirty and sticking out of the wall. From what? Idk maybe the shower? But why would that be there for it? Then there were dirty crumbled towels mixed in the closet with extras. The place was very dirty and filthy. There's mold, stains, etc on things. Floors are dirty. There's globs of hair by the couch. The bedsheets smelled musty- like unclean from a smelly person. The one plug in the bedroom didn't work and sparked. We were scared of an electrical fire.. the tv was broken. Just very unkept. Beware of this scam. We luckily were able to cancel our reservation and book another for a unit on the same building. Hosts were nice, but for the price it was ridiculous to start my vacation like that .... Second AIRBNB: much better unit and had a balcony with a view of the city. Was kept up much better and enjoyed the rest of the trip in San Juan. This unit also came with parking, whereas the other one didn't. Sucks how the condo looks from the outside but felt safe with a guard at the front of the gated parking entrance and another at the front door of the complex at all times. From the condom wrapper, to the VERY long black hair in the bathroom. The door frame is almost completely rusted out. Unit right next to the trash room. Employees are incredibly rude!!! RUINED MY HONEYMOON!!! You know who you are. Storm shutters slamming on the window all night. Now they are lying saying they offered a move. They cannot provide any correspondence of that. I was trying to book another place so my honeymoon wasn't ruined, yea that goes over well on a weekend the day of. Property and property management company take zero responsibility, and are now blaming me!! Say it's due to my personal preference as to the standards. They also wait to tell you until you get check in info to say the are "monitoring" your noise level, but NOT recording!!! You'd wake up and you'd find water in the guest bedroom all over the floor, behind the dresser and into the hallway. The toilets were at least 10 inches off the ground- you had to hike just to sit down with your legs dangling if you are shorter than 5'2". The building was a bit dilapidated on one side. But the view was gorgeous. It overlooks the lagoon of sorts that lead right into the ocean. It was nice. Elevator ride to the 9th floor proved to be acceptable and always in working order. It was centrally located right in the heart of Condado which made it accessible to all the night life in the strip in San Juan, PR. I guess for the money it was not that bad- it could sleep up to 6 people. Wifi was provided but the signal often went out in several occasions. There was a kitchen and a washer and dryer that helped with the soaked towels that we used to clean up the water day after day. Finally we just turned it off in the 90 degree weather and let the evening cross breeze flow from the unit thru the sliding glass windows. The other thing I found amusing is that there was construction drilling in the next door apartment. So during the morning you could hear the drill grinding into the cement floors. Summary This place has a lot of potential. There was some issues with water and construction as they are hopefully getting the condo units up to sped with the rest of the area. Would I stay again? Yes, under a negotiated price.

It is exactly like you see in the pictures; super clean and the beds are very comfortable. We arrived late at night and contacted Martin. He was extremely helpful. Access to the apartment was easy and he met with us the next morning and explained everything to us and gave us some very helpful hints. I had forgotten to bring my hairdryer and there wasn't one in the unit, but Martin came back later in the day with a brand new one. He truly is a treasure!!! From the apartment you can walk to Escambron Beach (pretty much right across the street). It was quiet and beautiful, a hidden gem. We took the bus (which stops right at the corner of the street) into Old San Juan; it takes about 5 minutes. We only rented a car to explore other places on the Island (DO NOT miss the rain forest!!!). There is a grocery store right around the corner, a KFC, and a few restaurants, but we mainly ate in Old San Juan (love the Puerto Rican cuisine). My son did have a hamburger at El Hamburger on the corner, and said it was really good. It must be, since the place is packed with locals every day. I would have given this place five stars, except for two things. One was the traffic noise. It is pretty much constant until late at night. I live in the country, so I'm used to quiet nights; I'm sure it won't bother anybody used to city life. The other is the rooftop terrace. It was nice and one side it had a view of the ocean, but you also see quite a few power lines and a fairly new high-rise apartment building, so it wasn't as pretty as I had hoped it to be. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment and it's location sure made up for both of these issues. We fell in love with the island and can't wait to return. The booking was very easy, the owner was extremely helpful and so was Martin, the caretaker. I would recommend this apartment.
