Booked 2 Airbnb's here for my trip to San Juan. (Didn't want to book 2 but you'll find out why we had to) First looks: the condo looks very very ugly from the outside and needs lots of renovations to make it nice. Very old like. But inside the apartments range from good to bad. The pool has some renovations around the part of the kiddy pool but the regular pool was okay to use. The inside of the building gets hooot and stuffy. TIP: beautiful beach that condo leads out too BUT there is a large rock on beach states that sewage sometimes spills out of it onto the beach.. nice beach but not so happy about that... First AIRBNB: Hosted by Aida and Francisco J. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Dirty dirty dirty and gross. Felt nasty just being in there. Didn't want to sit or touch anything. Floors disgusting, hose and tray dirty and sticking out of the wall. From what? Idk maybe the shower? But why would that be there for it? Then there were dirty crumbled towels mixed in the closet with extras. The place was very dirty and filthy. There's mold, stains, etc on things. Floors are dirty. There's globs of hair by the couch. The bedsheets smelled musty- like unclean from a smelly person. The one plug in the bedroom didn't work and sparked. We were scared of an electrical fire.. the tv was broken. Just very unkept. Beware of this scam. We luckily were able to cancel our reservation and book another for a unit on the same building. Hosts were nice, but for the price it was ridiculous to start my vacation like that .... Second AIRBNB: much better unit and had a balcony with a view of the city. Was kept up much better and enjoyed the rest of the trip in San Juan. This unit also came with parking, whereas the other one didn't. Sucks how the condo looks from the outside but felt safe with a guard at the front of the gated parking entrance and another at the front door of the complex at all times. BEWARE!!!! This place is trash. I am sure some units are amazing. My unit should be condemned. My unit was GROSS disgusting. From the condom wrapper, to the VERY long black hair in the bathroom. The door frame is almost completely rusted out. Unit right next to the trash room. Employees are incredibly rude!!! RUINED MY HONEYMOON!!! You know who you are. Storm shutters slamming on the window all night. Now they are lying saying they offered a move. They cannot provide any correspondence of that. I was trying to book another place so my honeymoon wasn't ruined, yea that goes over well on a weekend the day of. Property and property management company take zero responsibility, and are now blaming me!! Say it's due to my personal preference as to the standards. They also wait to tell you until you get check in info to say the are "monitoring" your noise level, but NOT recording!!! Sorry guys, but I'm gonna have to leave at two. Not as far as the views go and closeness to common areas, the highway, restaurants bars. Five. Location five. The building itself a two. It seems they are trying to redo it back the way that they used to be years ago. Right now, though it's not theirs. A lot of issues with elevators, not working. No air condition in the lower level, the pool needs some care, the facilities are just OK but they're trying. What I'm saying is that if you're not bougie, just decent place to stay then this is fine if you're not gonna be here much. If you're looking for something upscale and super nice similar to a nice hotel or something then you better stay somewhere else. At least until they finish construction and all the work they're doing. Also, it's work going on. So this is June 2024. The people were nice. We didn't have any issues being travelers here. read more

I have rented two air bnbs from this condo building. It's a nice, gated building built in 1967. While it is located on the ocean and does sport spectacular views, it has two big drawbacks. The first is non stop construction in the form of tuck pointing. The jackhammering starts at 8 AM and goes for several hours. Noise is unbearable. The second problem is cockroaches. They're kind of everywhere. I don't know if it's because of some residents being untidy or because the construction scatters them, but they are heavily infested in this building. Like bad. They come through under the doors and through the pipes. I regularly sprayed Raid at night to keep them at bay. Again, nice building. Secure space with a 24 hour doorman. But it's not exactly upscale. read more

We rented an air bnb and loved it! Super cozy duplex I'm the PH with an amazing view of the ocean. Washer and dryer, jacuzzi tub, stand up shower on the first floor with two bedrooms. The upstairs is where the kitchen, jacuzzi and balcony were. It's was an open and amazing sunlight! Beautiful tile work on the walls and floors and a beautiful mural of Celia Cruz painted on the balcony. Great photo op! We had a blast! Thanks Emilio read more

Condo is old, so the nice pics you see are no longer..they are remodeling, so we hear drilling,banging,grinding all day, stayed here Jan 12, 2024. Residents very rude to renters, heard they do like B&B renters, gaurd rude,life guard rude, when on duty he is hardly at station, he is either inside, looking at phone, or in pool house even when kids are in pool. You will get a $100.00 fine if you don't use freight elevator with your luggage , if your wet, you must cover up.or get a fine...unreal. pool has missing tiles and cement is cracked..elevators very slow, 1 lady in elevator would not move over to let in our friend fiance, there was room for 2 more people so he hade to take a seperate elevator...you know another "Karen" only thing it is on the Ocean and is located near. restaurants. our room was redone modern but other people renting said their room was really bad, and dated...ruined our stay,,, 1479 Ashford read more

Great place to stay (via air bnb) rather than a hotel!!! Much more affordable, fully equipped kitchen to save money instead of eating out, centrally located to tourist attractions in San Juan plus shopping and restaurants! I guess it depends on your host as well but our place was beautiful and the building staff and tenants were always friendly! The beach is nice and private, won't find a problem with crowding. Not a good beach for young children, the tide is strong and the water gets deep quick. read more

Our unit was very nice. The residents were very rude for no reason even though we were very respectful to the property.

Oh dear, where do I begin? Condado del Mar is an apartment complex with an even mix of locals and tourists. It's located in one of the best areas in San Juan - near the hotels, bars, restaurants and most importantly Condado Beach. I found this place on airbnb and was thrilled at the amenities, but when I arrived, it wasn't the paradise as promised. The building was decrepit and falling apart, and two of the three elevators didn't work. Ever. Our windows leaked whenever it rained, and we had an infestation of mutant ants everywhere (no matter what we did, we couldn't get rid of them!). I'll give this place two stars for the friendly security guards and great location. Otherwise, stay elsewhere. read more

As usual, I found this place on VRBO and was excited about staying here. When I arrived, it wasn't what I thought it would be. When I stepped out of the elevator, I was shocked to see all units had wrought iron gates. I got a bad vibe. It looked like a jail cell block. I did a very quick walk through with Lorena, Property Manger. I should have looked a little closer and asked a few more questions. The biggest complaint I have is in the master bathroom. My girlfriend walked in to use it and immediately came out looking disgusted. The toilet had feces all over it. I now knew this unit was not being kept up. We ended up buying cleaning materials and cleaned the unit ourselves. I called Lorena 6 times to tell her about this and also a problem with the television, no answer. She called me back 24 hours later. I also called Dr. Claudio and have not received a call back to this date. The AC unit in the master bedroom has no control. It gets pretty cold in there and you literally have to get out of bed and unplug it from the wall. The only positive thing I can say about this review is that it is located in the Condado area, which is the best area in San Juan for entertainment, casinos, restaurants. It's also around 10 to 15 minutes from the airport, Old San Juan and other attractions. I have travelled to 23 countries and 30 plus states in the past 10 years. I always stay in very nice places. This was not one of them. Overall, I would not stay here again. I would not recommend this apartment. read more

This is a true case of not judging a book by its cover! At first glance, this place looks like your regular, run of the mill building from outside. But once you come inside, the building is absolutely beautiful and well maintained! The pool is fantastic, it may even be Olympic size. But nothing beats that beach view and private access to Condado beach. This place is absolutely beautiful. The area is gorgeous. The winds coming off the beach make no need for air conditioning in the condo! The blue skies the palm trees everything is great. The way to go when visiting San Juan is to rent an apartment and live like a local. I can't believe these local people live like this every day. I am so jealous. This is the best decision I've ever made and can't wait to come back to this very same spot for some peace and tranquility while here in San Juan Puerto Rico read more
