Michael and his team are awesome, our experience was nothing short of amazing. He was on it as soon as my husband contacted him to help with our refinance, and turn around was so quick and easy. Very attentive to us, great communication and best customer service you can get while going through something stressful as a refinance or purchase of a home. I would highly recommend working with Michael:) Mrs. Cordero read more

Michael and team were phenomenal. Just last week my husband and I closed on our new (and first!) home. We had been so scared to start the process because we thought we would only be getting our hopes up to be shot down but that wasn't the case. Michael gave us so much information in a way that was easy for us to understand. He often sent us links and articles he'd written for each step we were at during the process. It made it so easy (well as easy as it was going to be) to feel reassured that this was a leap we wanted to take. Other brokers we had talked to in the past acted as if our questions and concerns were a nuisance or they would get impatient. Michael was the complete opposite and his team really worked around the clock to get everything finalized and make us feel comfortable. Besides the interaction that we had with one another I want to mention that Michael and his team were great with interacting with ALL the parties involved in our home buying process. His team was definitely received well by everyone and when there are so many moving parts to piece together I believe this made a tremendous difference in how willing and cooperative the other parties were in moving things along. We really couldn't stop thanking everyone for the experience we had. I'm the type of person that googles worst case scenarios and there were some nights where my fear almost made me want to back out. I'm so happy I didn't and I'm even more grateful that I can now reflect on this experience and say it was real pleasure working with this team. read more

My husband and I cannot rave enough about the awesome quality of service from Michael Deery and his team at Citywide Financial. He has been our trusted Mortgage Planner for several years now. I appreciate how he explains and simplifies our loan options. It's very helpful in making an informed decision about the best options to get a loan or refinance. Any chance that I get, I would recommend Michael Deery's outstanding services to my friends and family. read more

This is the second time Michael and his team have helped us with our home loan. First time was a purchase and the second was a refinance. The attention to detail and the turnaround to complete the loan was nothing short of outstanding. Working with Michael was amazing. We first contacted Michael back in 2016 when my wife any I were considering relocating from Chicago to San Diego. Periodically we would visit San Diego and do some house hunting and Michael was able to answer our questions right from the start. Fast forward to today 10-25-18, after being in escrow for 10 months, we are now home owners in San Diego in large thanks to Michael and Hallie. Their over communication was GREAT! I loved knowing that they had our back in such a stressful time. They were always looking to be 2 steps ahead of the game so that no one would be waiting for items to be done on our end. With their help, and thorough diligence, we always felt confident through every step of the way that a minor detail would not derail our escrow. We asked a lot of questions and they took the time to give us an equal amount of answers! I can't say enough great things about their responsiveness, professionalism, and work ethic. In summation, With Michael and Hallie on our team, we felt like we could stand taller and more confident every step of the way. Thank you Michael and Hallie for making such a naturally stressful journey, much more enjoyable! read more

Michael and the team at Citywide should receive an award for their excellent customer service. We just refinanced our house through Citywide and had the best experience. The process was fast and virtually seamless. Having never done this before, we had a lot of questions. Michael and Hallie were extremely patient with us and made us feel at ease. They were attentive and supportive throughout the entire process. We heard refinancing a house could be challenging, but Michael and Hallie made it so easy. Thanks Citywide! We will definitely recommend you and will use your services again in the future. read more

Michael was recommended to me from my realtor, Leslie Grigsby with Big Block Realty https://www.yelp.com/biz/big-block-realty-san-diego-3 My husband and I have worked with Michael on two home loans within a 7 month period. Here are the pros/cons per our experience, and keep in mind we've never met Michael in person; all of our communication was via email (gotta love technology!) Pros: Responsive, effective communicator, reliable (he would return emails/calls in the late evenings!), smooth transition, great guidance through the entire process, and his team/Hallie were ABSOLUTELY great from start to end. Cons: this is more for the client..make sure to ASK questions on the fees (appraisals/agent fees/ect). You will not be disappointed with Michael; he knows his stuff! read more

From the moment I contacted Michael, I knew I was in great hands. This was my first refinance so you can imagine all the questions I had. Michael was very patient and walked me through the whole process, making me feel like I was his only client. I pride myself on my response time, but was amazed at how quickly Michael and Hallie responded with detailed answers (Hallie is amazing too). I was kind of dreading this process because my original loan process was a nightmare, but Michael and Hallie made this such an easy, stress-free experience. I can't thank them enough for their attention to detail, expertise, patience and speed in which the rate was locked and funded. If you are looking for a seamless and efficient experience, call Michael and between him and his team, they will take care of you! read more

Michael of Citywide Financial made the process of refinancing my home a piece of cake! He was always very explanatory on any documents he sent my way, he was quick to respond to any questions I had and my loan funded very quickly! I'd highly recommend Citywide Financial! read more

Michael, Hallie and team have helped our family refinance several mortgages and have been phenomenal in each each instance. The main qualities that I'm looking for in a provider are (1) competitive rates, (2) speed and (3) follow-through. The Citywide Financial team excels in all three dimensions. Much to my wife's dismay, I'm the type of consumer who spends hours exploring a plethora of options to secure the best deal possible. After working with Michael a few times, I now know that I can go straight to him to get the best rate, and I can the spend the hours saved at the beach surfing. I was honestly blown away recently by how much he beat the pricing of the other lenders and brokers that I had been talking to. The lower rate that Michael provided - without requiring me to pay additional points or hidden closing costs - will save me more than $30K over the life of the loan. Even after we had locked in our rate, when rates dipped Michael was able to negotiate a further reduced rate to save us additional money! I'm generally wary of deals that seem too good to be true, but I surprisingly don't have that feeling when working with Citywide Financial. They have come through each time we refinanced with them, and operate in an efficient, professional and expedient manner. They are extremely responsive and generally close deals much quicker than many other providers I have worked with. I've recommended Citywide Financial to a few buddies and all have had similarly positive experiences. Thanks again Michael, Hallie and team! read more

Michael is absolutely fantastic and the reason we were able to snag a beautiful home in San Diego. In this crazy market he was able to help us get the best rate and get us pre-approved (in just days) with both our salaries even when most lenders said no to us because my husband had not reached 6 months at his job yet. He also was super helpful letting us know the costs way in advance and explained everything in detail so we understood. We'd use him again for our next home loan! The process was painless and straightforward as well. Thanks Michael! read more

Michael is a loan expert. I used him recently for a refinance and the process couldn't have gone any smoother. I'm all about the bottom line and Michael and his team crushed his competition in every area important to me. I'm in the business on the commercial side and judge residential lenders harshly if I experience anything less than Nordstrom service. His philosophy is education first and I enjoyed reading his newsletter for years. I strongly encourage you to use Michael for your purchase or refinance needs. read more

We had been looking for the perfect first home for a over a year! In this market it is very difficult to buy something in our lower price range. We found Michael and it was the best thing that ever happened to us. I researched many loan companies including credit unions, USAA, and highly yelp rated mortgage brokers. Michael was the only one that always answered my questions anytime of day or night, email or text. He is super fast with everything and has incredible attention to detail. Our real estate agent was extremely impressed with his organizational charts, quick response time and professionalism. We chose him because he was NEVER ONCE PUSHY OR AGGRESSIVE (like many loan officers I dealt with) and he allowed us the time to search for a year to find the right house. When it came to the offer, he was ready on standby to make it quick in order to get our offer in first (which is what is required in this market now a days). As first time home buyers and with a newborn, getting a loan and buying a house was extremely stressful. Michael made it so easy that we highly recommend him to anyone trying to buy a house but don't want to be pushed around and want the work to be done quickly and accurately. Thanks you for all your patience, hard work and kindness though this life changing process Michael! We are so very grateful! read more

My friend referred me to Mr. Deery years ago and I am very grateful that he did. I have been through many new loans and refinances with many different brokers and Mr. Deery has consistently provided us with the smoothest and most professional process. His pricing is always competitive and his entire team is extremely helpful and responsive. I highly recommend using Citywide for your financing needs. read more

Michael and his team were so responsive and patient with all of our concerns and questions. I had previously tried a refi through our bank... the experience was complicated, unclear and just plain awful. On the other hand, Michael provided the easiest way forward on every front. Honestly, these things can be stressful, but in the end he made it simple. The rate I we locked in, and the speed at which we signed and funded was astounding. My only regret is that my rate is so low, I'll likely never need to refi again! Thank you Michael. I cannot recommend him enough. read more

Michael and Hallie were great. There hundreds of brokers to choose from. Some just do "ok" and the minimum. Some are horrible. Not the case with Citiywide Financial! Michael and Hallie kept us informed and did a great job of getting things done. Loans are much more complicated these days. There are many issues with the lenders and tons of red tape. Michael and Hallie navigated through most of it for us, or guided us on exactly what to do. They are real pros and I would recommend them to anyone. In fact, I have sent a few family members and friends to Michael and they have all been very pleased with their services. Contact Michael at 858-200-9602 read more

When you think all is lost and no hope in the home buying process, you turn to Michael with Citywide Financial. Stumbled into his FB page early this year. With all the info that he posted ,sounds too good to be true.. I'm a skeptic that made the call..The company is from San Diego and we live in the Bay Area CA, but he made it happen for us first time home buyers. He does not know this, but we shopped around for the best loans locally, but they still have the best terms and products! Never met him personally, someday would love to, but he delivered. Mostly through his neat detailed emails, we did the transactions. Guided us all the way and answered all our questions.. I recommend this guy to my families and friends.. We funded and closed yesterday! Time to shop around for furnitures for our NEW HOME! Thanks Michael D. read more

As a full time Realtor (Buyers Agent) with Coldwell Banker, I rely heavily on Michael to vet, qualify and close on time. I have had wonderful transactions with Citywide Financial. I've worked with Citywide for over a decade, that's not common in this industry. Michael's expertise, working knowledge of credit repair and best way to qualify a buyer, wide array of loan options and his processing staff have all made each transaction flow with ease and competence. Michael and his team were a pleasure to work with. This was our 2nd refinance with them, and each time, the process was super smooth. Michael and Hallie were both incredibly responsive and always willing to answer all of our questions. We will do business with Michael again in the future. Thumbs up! :) read more

I was introduced to Michael from a co-worker in 2013, and since then, I've had to work through several transactions over the years - a couple of refinances and home purchases. So, I know the escrow and closing process and have tried other loan officers. No loan officer I've encountered can compare to the detail, efficiency and rapid response that Michael and his team (Hallie) provide. He always provides enough detail on several loan options to be able to select the right one for my situation. In addition, he is knowledgeable of the different types of loans and current offers that he is able to get the best rate for me (when compared to other loan officers). Most recently, we had to close on a house in a very short time frame as a part of the offer. In addition, we were leaving for the holiday break and that shortened the time frame even more. Michael and his team were able to close and fund the loan in 14 days! I highly recommend him and his team! I myself will always use Michael and his team for future transactions. read more

Sorry I'm really late with this review... life gets in the way :) Michael helped us with a refinance last year. I'm finally getting around to posting a big thank you to Michael and his team. We've done several mortgage loan purchases and refinances over the years, and I have to say this was the easiest one EVER! Michael answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly. So quick too, I don't think it even took three weeks from start to finish... the most pleasant surprise was everything went smoothie just as he said it would with no unpleasant surprises. We definitely recommend Michael to anyone needing a mortgage loan :-) read more

It would be hard to improve on the service Michael and his team provided to us. On the same day we sent him our first email inquiring about a refinance, he sent us back three lender quotes, with detailed information on costs, and short-term and long-term financial considerations. We sent him our choice later that day and--incredibly--our refinance loan closed 17 days later. Everything was ultra fast, smooth, efficient, and painless. We would recommend Michael and his team wholeheartedly. read more

I first came into contact with Michael and his team about 8 years ago and at that time I had put it in my head that if I ever needed assistance again with any financial needs for my place that I was going to circle back with him, as I found him to be most interested in putting my best interest first and being completely transparent through the entire process. So recently, when I was looking at a re-fi for my home I reached out and as I expected the transaction could not have gone smoother. I had some specific check boxes that I put forth that I had wanted to be met before I pulled the trigger and Michael was able to make them all happen, the entire process went so smooth and really quick! He was able to get me in the rate range I was looking for, the terms I wanted and overall I could not have been anymore pleased with the service and support I received from Michael and his team. Any future needs I have with home financials, I will definitely be going back to Michael and will be referring everyone I know in need of these services to go to him! read more
