Honestly not one to EVER leave a review but I did NOT have a good experience here. I asked for dip, short, almond shaped and natural nails. I had asked the nail tech guy to make them shorter a couple of times. He explained to me that with the shape they would look longer. I explained again I have a baby and I need them shorter. He advised giving it a day or two and if I still wasn't happy with the length I could come back in and have someone file them down for me. I went back in on Monday when they opened and the lady at the front seemed flustered and didn't seem to want to help me. I explained that I couldn't come back at 730pm due to my husband working nights and I only have a "sitter" in the mornings. So I had no choice but to go somewhere else to have my nails redone. When I called back to speak to the owner I was told he would not be in until later. He called me back today at 430pm and told me he would not be refunding me my money. Save yourself some time and go elsewhere. Horrible customer service. Especially for the price !!! read more

I asked for gel nails, short. And what I got as the end results was terror. Pretty much every nail was glued to my skin. triple gel so it looked like a mattress on every other nail and it took 2 1/2 hours. Typical, simple nail set would of taken 30-45 mins Don't get me wrong. I got a water m, enjoyed small talk but first time and last time I'd go there. She was very sweet but I'm sorry. I like the quiet atmosphere in here, no TVs, just soft music; a thoroughly relaxing experience. Their tools are super clean, the staff is very friendly, and the massage chairs are super comfortable. On your first visit you get a buffer & file to keep for $1, and you bring it with you for visits later. As they can't sanitize these items, you definitely want to bring your own set. read more

Still a fan! I had not been back to Lux II since my first experience with them, sadly so and a mistake on my part. I previously went to Q Spa nails on Beach/Basswood to get solar nails done and both times was disappointed in the quality I received. I actually was there Wednesday (at Q Spa) and when I was asked for a trim, I said "yes, just a little please." and the tech trimmed my nails so they were SHORTER than my finger! The next day I called Lux II, hoping they could fix my nails and made an appointment for the following day (Friday). I went in and had the old "nails" soaked off, and Judy made my nails just how I wanted them. I even got a cute design for Valentine's day. I wanted so badly to like this place. Everyone was so friendly when we walked in and my daughter went nuts for the Hello Kitty chair. I was underwhelmed with the pedicure. I opted for the $32 City Line Pedicure. My favorite part of pedicures is the foot massage. If not for that, I'd just get a $9 polish change! Well the technician got to my polish before even massaging my feet! She exfoliated, wrapped in hot towels, rubbed my calves for about 4 minutes but didn't TOUCH my feet. I decided not to say anything since I had tried to talk to her about something before and she ignored me. Maybe she doesn't speak English, but at least acknowledge that I'm speaking to you. When we checked out, we were charged $52. I said that was incorrect b/c my daughter was $6 and I was $32. They said they gave my daughter a full $20 kids pedicure. When we sat down, I pointed to the 'polish only' price for my daughter... ugh. DON'T PERFORM A SERVICE FOR SOMEONE THAT THEY HAVEN'T ASKED FOR! When the woman behind the counter asked the lady that did my daughter's nails about the $20 vs $6 she said - 'No! I gave her a full pedicure! She loved it! Said how good the massage felt!' I said that's fine, but mentioned that my lady didn't massage my feet. The woman behind the counter started yelling for my lady to come to the counter. I asked politely for her to wait until I leave for her to confront my nail technician. She said, 'No! If you leave she'll think I'm lying, and then I'M the bad guy.' (What?!?!?). She got my technician to the counter and there was a small altercation in front of me in a language I don't speak. I felt terrible, embarrassed and wanted to get the heck out. I hadn't gotten my card back yet, or I would have left right then. So, I spent way more than I asked to spend and got way less and then was embarrassed before leaving the building. I won't be back. Ended up here based on the pictures of the interior, and selected the lavender pedicure. It was more expensive than the fume-y salon I left, but I had a good experience for my first pedi. One thing that they do that's different from other salons is that they require you to buy the nail file and buffer for $1. You can reuse for the following visit. It's very clean and a pleasant environment. Oh and I like that if there is a wait they tell you the truth of the wait time. I've been told at other salons that it will be 5 min and they sit me in 5 min but then I wait up to 20 minutes before someone begins to work on me. I had to edit my review because now they take appointments, which are their priority now. My pedicure with Phoebe started very quickly and my husband had to wait awhile but was able to wait in the massaging chair with his feet soaking and he did not mind.
