Visiting area walked by this place and tried it. Everything was amazing. Clean inside friendly. TVs all over comfy chairs. Had cheese burger and fries the fries were skinny and tasty burger was juicy very good. Had Cheese Curds with dipping sauce all great. I ordered piece corn bread because someone else got it with their food AMAZING CORNBREAD. It was moist and soo tasty. I could have eaten a whole tray. Great spot in fun area def recommend.

Usually I don't start with service but I'm going to. This is a little take of how two things can be true at the same time. 1. Our waitress was Bry. She was attentive and friendly. She made menu recommendations, including drink selection. We were very pleased with her. She helped save this review. However, we almost didn't meet Bry, because of the bad service we encountered at the front door. We came in and there was no one there and no sign. I saw a bartender engaged in conversation with friends/patrons. It looked like they were headed out as they had boxes and were standing. I gave her time to see us. She didn't acknowledge us and just kept right on laughing. I waited another beat then said, "excuse me, is it seat yourself?" The bartender first did a eye roll and then just stared at me like I had rudely interrupted. So I stared back. After a good while, she said, "is it seat yourself? Yes." I should have left but we had just gotten off the road after driving to Wisconsin and we were hungry and didn't want to brave the cold so soon again. Her bad attitude could have and should have cost them customers. The food was very mid. If you go here it's for the vibes and drinks but not the food. Atmosphere was nice. Screens, hookah, it wasn't too loud, so that worked well. They have Happy Hour until 7 on Saturday's and I thought that was nice.

The ambiance is just what I wanted. Driving from Chicago to celebrate my 46th birthday in Milwaukee. This was the place to be. Catfish was delicious Hookah vibes were great and the service was excellent

SERVICE: Once again, my waitress was Bri. She was fantastic as usual. I came here to meet up with some friends for some Cinco de Mayo festivities. She was very timely and getting us our food and the bill. FOOD: Given the holiday, there were a lot of specials. I got the three tacos for $10 special. It was really good. The tacos were loaded to the brim. And it came with guacamole, sour cream, green salsa, and red salsa. DRINK: City Social had a drink special of a $25 margarita flight. They had a wide range of flavors. I believe I got the pineapple, strawberry and mango. For the margaritas to be from a premade mix they were very strong drinks. In total, I spent $56 on this meal. Was well worth it.

I took an Amtrak trip to Milwaukee for my birthday and this was the first meal. I walked to the public market but it was pretty busy so I walked to City Social. I was immediately greeted when I walked in, the bartender was friendly and even gave me recommendations for my trip, the vibe was nice. It was lunch time and also happy hour (12-7) so I ordered from that menu. It was my first time in Milwaukee so I had to have cheese curds and they were excellent, I also got a shrimp and catfish basket which was delicious. Perfectly fried and seasoned and the perfect amount for $8, I came back and had it again before catching my train back to Chicago. The bathroom could've been cleaner and I wish hookah was in a designated area, I don't prefer hookah smoking especially while I'm eating. There is auto gratuity while I didn't mind because service was great both times, I also loved the ease of scanning the receipt to pay. Overall I would certainly return.

First time here. It's a historic building on the south end of Bay View. A big old white building…read more(previously called the White House) with a small parking lot on the south side. We had reservations at 6:00 on a Saturday night. (It was cold, a little drizzly, and windy out.) The front entrance has several steep steps, and when you walk through, you are literally at the host station. They were going to seat us right behind the host station, but we knew it was going to be a problem as people went in and out. We asked to be seated a little farther from the door, and after a bit of discussion (it sounded like this was going to be a little issue), they were able to find a table for two in the parlor. So glad! Got settled in right away with menus and waters. Our server did a good job of getting us up to speed on the menu, the service, and the cocktails. They did a very good job throughout the evening (thanks, Roberto). We settled on the Window Seat (Beef Tallow and Rosemary Washed Vodka, crazy but true) and the Night Clubbing (with espresso-infused Campari). Both were very good choices. We decided that we wanted to start with three dishes and then regroup if we needed more. These included the Bok Choy Salad, Cumin and Cinnamon Braised Pork Shoulder, and Venison Tartare (Dijon Ice Cream?). The Bok Choy Salad was a real surprise, with the entire collection being so bright and flavorful. The dates had a meaty quality. The dressing with Nuoc Cham was savory with just a bit of heat. We both decided that we could have made an entire meal of that. The Pork Shoulder came next and was a good portion, with the meat tender and flavorful. The Quinoa Polenta was interesting, but I can't say that it was something I would seek out. I have had Beef Tartare before, but this was a first for Venison Tartare, so of course I just had to order it. What struck me first was that the entire thing (not just the Dijon Ice Cream) was very cold, almost frozen. I tried a couple of bites, and it was so cold that unless you let it sit in your mouth to thaw out, it was somewhat tasteless. I spread it around the plate to thaw out, and it was a big improvement. It's a good-sized portion, and even after loading up on the three pieces of bread, there was still plenty left (maybe a couple more pieces of bread?). There were a couple of desserts that we would have loved to try, but we were full and had a performance to attend. So we will have to wait until next time. Really enjoyed our first dinner. Loved the inventiveness of the menu. The staff all seem to really care about the business and the diners. With the placement of the front door and the draftiness of the dining room, we will likely book our next dinner when the weather turns warmer.

They were festive with Halloween decorations and had a gothic feel. I tried the lamb jerk dumplings and tofu. Highly recommend. They both had unique flavors especially the lamb. The tofu had a nice crispy texture to it with the soy based sauce glazed over it with scallions. I also tried a mocktail version of La Pucelle, it wasn't explicitly listed in the mocktails section so you can order a mocktail version of some the alcoholic cocktails. For dessert I tried the Panna Cotta, it was my first time ever trying it and tho go get it was really good. It had a pomegranate sorbet scoop on top sprinkled with frankincense laid on a bed of shaved ice with the creamy base at the bottom of the bowl. It was refreshing! The waiter was very helpful, he explained how they served food and drinks and when I asked about I n residents for the dessert he was able to describe them in detail.

The space is cozy and dim and well decorated. The staff are always kind. some are more helpful or informative than others. You can pair the cheeses with every drink on the menu or try pre-paired boards. You can also buy cheeses from the dairy and others, as well as assorted related products at a small retail section or cut fresh from the cheese case. Parking is on the street and can be a pain in this saturated area. The reason for the drop in stars? Prior visits got you more wines and more food to pair it with. This visit had prices steady but fewer wines, less cheese and $1 upcharge for some wafer crackers. They made it into a gluten free spread so we had four types of cheese in lieu of the seasoned dried meat and gluten free crackers. The place is inviting, has nice decorations, great for going on a date or a casual catch up with your bestie. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
