Ordered at 6:30 pm and asked how rare the prime rib was. The server came back and told us " medium." Disappointed so we ordered a burger and Philly instead and extra salads. The server returned while we were eating the salads and told us they brought out a new prime rib and now they would have rare. Great! We thanked her and were looking forward to a great meal. The prime ribs arrive and they are medium to well done. Not pink at all. They were brown. Good grief. Now we were each stuck for $30 roast beef. We ate what we could and looked at each other like we've been took. We should have stayed with our alternative order but we believed they had made an honest effort to serve us what we wanted. My husband showed our server a pic on his phone of rare prime rib and asked her what ours here looked like. She mumbled " medium" and said something about how busy they are so they don't have rare and walked away real fast. I expected the owner to come over to our table to apologize but no, nothing. We walked out and plan to never return.

There was a fish fry going on but I'm not big on fish, thankfully they still offer their full menu as well. A couple people in my group had the fish and said it was great. My test of a bar is always a patty melt because it is easy to screw up but when it's right it's right and they NAILED it. The patty melt was so juicy and well seasoned and they did something with the onions (maybe slightly pre grilled) where they didn't have the pungency of raw onion but still had the snap. I'm home now and am already thinking about when I can go back. This place will be in heavy rotation for us. The fries and breaded mushrooms were standard bar fair but good. On tap the beer was limited but they had blue moon available which works for me. They have chili which someone at my table got and it is on my list to try next go around. It looked and smelled fantastic. All around a gem of a find I wasn't expecting.

I appreciate that there are good vegetarian and vegan options here. The best thing that I ever had…read morewas the cauliflower steak but they stopped carrying it. Right now they have a cabbage steak on their menu but it's served with bacon so I'm gonna have to go back and see if I can order that without the bacon. I still dream about that cauliflower steak with the side of rutabaga. One of the best things I've ever eaten anywhere. But it hasn't been on the menu for a long time. The shining star on the menu : the deviled eggs and the rotating seasonal deviled eggs. It's smart to go during happy hour and get deviled eggs and really well-crafted cocktails! The walls are decorated with musicians, and the staff wear old band T-shirts, which is neat but other than that, the music theme doesn't play out anywhere else. The restaurant doesn't have live music, there's no music or musicians in the menu names. I've had brunch here twice, and both times I went with the banana bread French toast topped with espresso butter. It's rich and delicious. Last time I had a side of scrambled eggs and they were prepared & seasoned well. The brunch buffet is fairly standard: fruit, pastry, eggs, meats, biscuits & gravy. Nothing really stands out about the brunch service here, whereas lunch and dinner are stellar.

It is very much a local place but we were impressed with the food and service. My wife and I ordered from their special Summer Menu. I loved the Cow & Pig Burger (a hamburger with pulled pork and bacon jam) and she was equally pleased with the Peanut Butter Burger (the name says it all). There was apparently only one young lady serving tables and at the register, but she handled all that admirably. If we are ever in the vicinity again, this will be on our itinerary!

You order at the bar on a kiosk as well as pay for the meal. If you want a drink you have to go see the bartender. They will text you when your meal is ready for pickup at the kitchen window. After finishing your meal you buss your own table. So why did I leave a tip? Oh well. It's definitely set up as a bar for college aged kids. The music is loud so it's difficult to have a conversation. We did not order drinks so no idea if they know how to make a good martini. But there's plenty of beer from which to choose. We shared a cheeseburger and fries as well as some cheese curds. The food was pretty good actually. The dipping sauces were in small containers and the curds came with a somewhat spicy sauce.
