After walking around the city for some hours this was a great pit stop! All the slices on display looked great but I had to get the cheese slice. The slice was very tasty, good crisp under carriage, cheese was tasty and for two bucks who wouldn't pass it up?! Definitely a must if in the area or on the go!!

Margherita and sausage slices; about $3.50/slice (February 2024)

City Pizza is conveniently located in Old City on 3rd Street near CVS. The staff is really nice. Their pizza slices are super affordable, at about $3/slice. I opt for the Margherita almost every time. They also have delicious cookies and a fridge full of affordable bevvies (think Jarritos and $1 bottles of water...hard to find that kind of deal in Old City). If you're a local or a tourist looking for a quick bite under $10/person, def stop in for some City Pizza. They also have a fun mural of pizza wings, so remember to snap a photo and tag them on socials (and upload the pic to Yelp!).

"Waffle fries"

We stopped here for a quick bite but regretted it. We ordered a cheese pizza and waffle fries. To this date I cannot figure out, what the pizza was. Is this how phila style pizza is? With sauce splattered All over the pizza and cheese that looks like it has been scraped off?? So disappointing. The pizza looks like a crayon/coloring photo of a pre K elementary or younger kiddo that's starting to learn how to draw and color. The pizza itself had no taste whatsoever. The fries were listed as "waffle fries on menu@. I'm thinking it would be something like chick fil-a but these were what we call crinkle fries. They Probably came off a bagged bag as I could still taste the freezer burn taste that lingers onto food. Plus they were put in the oven, so weren't properly fried but rather baked. Will not be back here ever.

Lunch specials with pretty decent prices!

City Pizza is a hidden gem through and through- I'm writing this review because I am moving out of this neighborhood and am selflessly letting you all know about this delicious spot! . I'm from NYC and will gladly admit that I know good pizza- so when I tell you that myself as well as friends and family who visit all agree that this joint has the best pizza we've tried in Philadelphia, believe us! Their Sicilian slices are top tier but truly you can't go wrong with any topping pizza either! Full disclosure I haven't tried their sandwiches and other goodies because the pizza is just so good esp with their unbeatable prices- 2 dollars for a regular 3 for a topping (usually)! I love that it's a locally run business with friendly quick service. It does the job of a sit down spot with cute wall art and music playing- but I enjoy that it's comfortable with no frills so can order to go! 5 stars for sure!

Amazing margarita pizza, I'm from Chicago and this has to be some of the best pizza I've had. Great service, great prices, great food what more can you ask for!

I decided to try the slices here for lunch on a work from home day. This place is now known as Olde City Pizza, not to be confused with the other pizza spot nearby with a similar name. I kept it simple, ordering two slices of pepperoni pizza. The slices were big with plenty of pepperoni. I was pleasantly surprised when I lifted up a slice to see that the crust had no flop. The crust is firm and crispy. The pizza tastes very good but not quite at the level of the very best pizza. But for a quick slice of pizza, it's as good as it gets in Old City.

This is great neighborhood pizza! The crust is thin and crispy, but not too thin. It holds all the toppings well and doesn't sag! The sauce is great and their white pizzas are delicious too.

Been going here even before the location switch. here's a recent run down…read more Tomato Pie: Huge fan. four slices. I personally would order this as my meal if I could. room temp, oily, good crunch to soft ratio. Judion Beans: good beans. they are on a similar wavelength as butter beans. honestly I get them for the table for the extra bowl of oil at the bottom to dip the crusts in. Creamy Oregano Salad: very interesting. small shaves of mushroom and fennel. very slight bitter taste. oddly addictive. the olives were my favorite part. i'd consider these friendly olives to those suspicious of olives. and the olives are cut in halves, so easy to pick out. so are the mushrooms. easy split for a table of four. beyond that i'd get two. *ADD ON* pickled chilies: very good. I suggest adding this to the pie. they are green, spicy, delicious, absolutely lovely. Corn Pizza: all together very delicious. my favorite part are the cherry tomatoes on top, which I would really like to be an add on option to other pies. they are the perfect flavor and size. i'm not particularly a tomato fan, especially whole. these are a rare exception. Classic Pizza?: solid, no notes. good as always. My only wish is that they offered a sauce to dip my crust in. they have very good crust, perfect ration of crispy and fluffy. just needs a sauce. Overall, great service, the manager greeted us to check on our meal, our server was attentive, the vibe is great inside.

Solid pizza spot that's consistently very good!…read more Pizzeria Beddia has been a Philly staple for years now, and it always hits. The interior is super hip and trendy! Our server was friendly and food came out hot and fast! Apps: Maitake Burrata and the Lettuce Shaved Veg salad - The salad was decent, but nothing to write home about. Would skip. I loved the burrata! Super creamy and well complemented by the umami flavor of the mushrooms. Mains: Pizza Arrabbiata and Roasted Peppers Pizzas - Both were delicious! If you liked spicy, you'll love the arrabbiata. The cream and cherry pepper vinaigrette on the red pepper pizza was so perfectly savory with a hint of acidity. If you have to go with one, I vote for the red pepper pizza.

cute restaurant in center city with the iconic spicy chicken caesar!…read more all i can say is: spicy chicken caesar. it lives up to the hype, and it is delicious. i've eaten here several times now and none of the other food is particularly memorable, but the spicy chicken caesar is fantastic albeit a little expensive. i really need my boyfriend to learn how to make the spicy chicken caesar so i stop coming back, but it makes for a fantastic girl dinner. most of the times i've come here were either for restaurant week or the spicy chicken caesar. i really don't think it's worth coming for restaurant week, it's kind of a bummer that your whole table has to order the same thing and that you share a lot of the dishes. it ends up being not a whole lot of food, and i did the math and the cost comes out to be about the same. overall, it's a decent restaurant with good service. it's located right in center city with a million other restaurants so it's easily overlooked, but when i think of prunella i think of spicy chicken caesar.

Create your own or their combination styles, all are great! The pesto dressing at the end is game changer! Also never thought cheek peas on pizza would taste so damn good. One tip: They tend to spread marinara sauce slightly less leaving the thick side/edges untouched. You can request them to cover the base all the way and they're happy to do so.

This location had 3 employees behind the counter running all over the place, multiple ones asking what we wanted and not sure who was supposed to be working on what. For it not being busy, it seemed chaotic and more time consuming than it should be. Multiple people were checking on their orders, so there wasn't a good number system/time estimate in place. We got the gnarlic knots which were decently tasting, but since it was to go, we didn't check it before it left. They didn't put on the parm-romano cheese and they didn't include the garlic dipping sauce. It just seemed like the running around not knowing who was going what led to oversight. There are tables to dine in, but it's not too much to expect not to inspect food to go to make sure it's as ordered. It seems like this location was just disorganized and the quality of the food suffered.

Fortunately, I got booked on a flight out the next morning and found a hotel in the city. Other than running to a drug store, my only other time leaving my hotel was to grab dinner at Pizzeria Vetri across the street. I enjoyed the food, the service, and the ambiance. I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me. The menu includes neopolitan pizzas (12" feeding 1-2 people) and metro pizzas (28" feeding 3-4 people). They make pizzas, calzones, antipasti, and salads. I chose a Neapolitan-style pepperoni pizza consisting of pepperoni, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and fresh oregano. It was quite filling and absolutely delicious! They also sell pizza kits so that you can make your own pizza at home. Pizzeria Vetri was created to celebrate the art of authentic pizza making. They aimed to create simple food made exactly the right way using the best and freshest ingredients served in a space where all are welcome.
