Both stellar and I would get another round if we had time. Happy hour is £2.50 pints - can't get better than that. Parking around the building was atrocious, to say the least. Take public transit if you can. T took us 30 minutes to get out of the tinyiest parking garage known to man. Other than that, I hope we stop by again if we're ever in Cardiff.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. Although not on the menu, we asked if we could sample all the beers they make which was no issue at all and all surprisingly cheap. They had a variety of beers from light mango beer, through to chocolate beer and even a 'black' beer. The smell from each beer was incredible and the bartender told us the reasoning behind each recipe and the flavours we should be able to taste with each glass. To line our stomachs as we drank we ordered a couple of things off the menu. We had the sharing starter which was smoked salmon , tomatoes, Parma ham and goats cheese on ciabatta followed by the thermidore mussels. Both of which were very good, the sauce on the mussels was Devine, incredibly rich and creamy ! They do have quite a limited menu here (mainly mussels, pizza and salad) but what they do have looks and tastes brilliant. They have a great open kitchen with an impressive pizza oven and each pizza looked incredible. I'd definitely come back here when we have a little more time and spend a bit longer trying to beers and taking in the atmosphere. Some days of the week they even have the distillers in operating the kit while you eat and drink which I am sure would be most entertaining ! Great place 4/5

The fresh ingredients here always pleases my taste-buds and have always been served by greatly helpful staff. It's the little touches such as getting your coat taking before sitting down or the marble tables that really elevate this pizza place. The presentation all round from food to the toilets seems well thought out and gives the chain a personal feel to each restaurant. The only slight shame is it's location really. Unlike the beautiful Cardiff Bay branch, this over looks the mall. I couldn't help but feel it was a bit like tea time at the monkey pen when McLovely and I were seated near the front.

This was the first time I had ever been to a Pizza Express and I had heard nothing but good things so naturally I booked a table for my birthday and went there with some family. I was impressed with the look and atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendly service from our waiter. I was always curious about trying this restaurant out and thought it would be great to book it for a birthday celebration, Thankfully the restaurant took the booking no problem. With some other Pizza Express restaurants they only allow a certain number when booking but this one didn't have a problem with that. Luckily I had 2 vouchers that were buy one get one for £1 so the night ended up cheaper than expected. Our waiter was such a nice guy that he over heard it was my birthday and put a candle in my cheesecake that I had for dessert. To top it all off the entire restaurant sang happy birthday to me. That was quite a surreal experience. The Pizza Express is in St Davids 2 is an excellent restaurant filled with delightful waiters/waitresses and delivers an amazing quality of food. I will definitely be visiting there once again!

Tony's pizza has been going since I was a tiny little thing and is still going strong to this day…read more In my opinion one of the best pizza places for miles. Not least because they deliver proper, rustic, tasty food. None of that horrible processed cheese and rubbish meat. I'm talking, fresh asparagus, anchovies, spinach, real Italian flavors. Alright so they only deliver to Penarth, Dinas Powys and Llandough but I like that level of exclusivity plus you can always head down there and pick one up in person. Nestled on the pier, Tony's is a slice (sorry) of Penarth history.

Sigh. Yeah, so it's kinda like that, minus the heat and blistering sun. Anyway, I love that I can buy pizza by the slice near a beachfront in Wales. Offering a variety of toppings (even a "healthy" version, but I'm afraid you'll have to opt for a full pizza in order to sample that), Tony's pizza is the perfect precursor to an ice cream cone dessert and a stroll on the Atlantic-Beach-like boardwalk. It's only open in the evenings on the weekdays (and from noon on Saturday and Sunday), but I crave pizza after a few pints, so it makes for a quick and convenient eat just before you head home (or out to a few neighbouring bars) They offer burgers and such, but I've yet to try it - it seems the pizza is the main draw here! But if you're feeling lazy, they offer a delivery service during its opening hours, but only to Penarth, Sully, Dinas Powys and Llandough areas.

It has been going for years, and has managed to hold on to its fine reputation for decent quality and value for money throughout that time. It IS rather tiny, however, so it's possible you could easily walk past and miss it - but once you've been there once for food, you'll be a complete convert. Basically, they do American fast food - mainly burgers. It's not healthy, and it's not complicated, but what they do they do very well. The belly-busting All American 1/2 pound burger with fries and a tub of blue cheese sauce seems to go down well with meat-eaters, while there's a generously proportioned veggie option for people like me who don't eat beef. They also do chicken and pizza, but to be honest if you go to Uncle Sam's it should be for a burger, because that's what they do best. Excellent value for money!

The restaurant is tiny and like other reviews have said it so easy to miss, so its beggars belief how such a small place can churn out such big and hearty portions of food. The price is ok but that is completely offset by taste of the food, as the juicy and flavourful chicken engulfs your taste buds. Of course chicken is not for everyone and they do have plenty of other dishes on the menu such as huge burgers (which have appeared to been given a real shout in other reviews) and pizza but honestly I personally think Uncle Sam's rules the roost!
