Tucked…read moreaway at the far end of Talbot Road, everything about La Trattoria is genuine; from the authentic ambience of the restaurant itself to the food that graces the plate. Having been there a number of times, I have had chance to sample a variety of dishes. The pasta was gorgeous, the meat was cooked to perfection and the fish was so fresh it almost jumped off the table, but despite the quality of these dishes, there are certain ones that stand out like an overeater at a buffet table - most notably the calamari. This dish is the stuff of legend and is proof that you don't have pay to go to Michelin star restaurants to find culinary excellence. Besides the regular menu, there is also a great value lunchtime menu that offers two courses for £9.99 with a glass of wine thrown in for good measure. What's more, they have recently started up a take-away service, which means you can now enjoy this authentic Italian food in the comfort of your own home. While the speed of service can be hit and miss at times, they can often be forgiven as the restaurant is frequently fully booked and the friendly staff clearly work hard to serve everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. All in all, if you love Italian food, you will love La Trattoria.

This restaurant is are busy and make sure you make a book a table. The food and wine is good and they always make you feel welcome and make you feel that you can stay for as long as you wish. My favorite are the pizzas they have a variety and then now offer a takeaway on pizzas. It has a rustic deco with wodden floor. It cters for large parties and nothing is too much trouble.

It was pretty busy when we got there but luckily our group was small, three of us. We were seated on the 2nd floor which was pretty roomy and a bit warm but then again, we are in a pizzeria. I ended up ordering the La Bella Vita pizza which had mozzarella, pepperoni sausage, Italian salame, torn chicken breast, and bacon. It was delicious and the cheese was perfect and not too cheesy. The sauce on the pizza had a great taste that put it over the top, amazing. I paired it well with my Aperol Spritz and took in the views while eating. Our waitress was great and recommended some must see locations while we were in town. She was great. If I ever come back to Bath, I will definitely stop by again because there were some other menu items that caught my eye and plus, the service was great.

Shared one of their specialty pizzas (very tasty, only wish there'd been a bit more generous helpings of the meat topping, as not every slice had it), Caesar salad (big portion, perfect for sharing), and a sampler of their dipping sauces (for the crust -- so good!). They also brought out a pitcher of cold water for the table (an appreciated touch). Would recommend!

Not least because they deliver proper, rustic, tasty food. None of that horrible processed cheese and rubbish meat. I'm talking, fresh asparagus, anchovies, spinach, real Italian flavors. Alright so they only deliver to Penarth, Dinas Powys and Llandough but I like that level of exclusivity plus you can always head down there and pick one up in person. Nestled on the pier, Tony's is a slice (sorry) of Penarth history.

Sigh. Yeah, so it's kinda like that, minus the heat and blistering sun. Anyway, I love that I can buy pizza by the slice near a beachfront in Wales. Offering a variety of toppings (even a "healthy" version, but I'm afraid you'll have to opt for a full pizza in order to sample that), Tony's pizza is the perfect precursor to an ice cream cone dessert and a stroll on the Atlantic-Beach-like boardwalk. It's only open in the evenings on the weekdays (and from noon on Saturday and Sunday), but I crave pizza after a few pints, so it makes for a quick and convenient eat just before you head home (or out to a few neighbouring bars) They offer burgers and such, but I've yet to try it - it seems the pizza is the main draw here! But if you're feeling lazy, they offer a delivery service during its opening hours, but only to Penarth, Sully, Dinas Powys and Llandough areas.
