I asked for "just a bit, please" and was encouraged to try the whiskey sauce. I did drizzle that on there! When I settled in my seat I picked around my other treats first, so as to save what I hoped was the best for last. The brisket. My first bite caused my eyes to shoot wide open, just so flavorful and warm how it comes! Second bite, with sauce. I took a slightly larger bite than before. I knew what was coming! But that sauce, I was not expecting! A kick of flavor I've never witnessed before... I was clawing my way towards my third bite! I did manage to savor this one a little longer, really hitting my stride for the meal. It was then my mother informed me "Food before one is just for fun!" as she finished the rest for herself, offering me a slice of bell pepper to gum on in place of that delicious meat. He said to include them in the final count and email him before the event with the number of vegetarians and to let the vegetarians know to request them from the servers, as if they put them out on the buffet everyone will eat them. We did this and he responded to the email with the final invoice which we paid before the event. Day of the wedding we find out at the end of the meal our vegetarians asked about the mushrooms and they were told it wasn't on the invoice and we never paid for it. Absolutely embarrassing and extremely unprofessional. Now our guests think we didn't do anything for them and it was our mistake. We did pay for them and was told they'd have mushrooms instead. Reached out to voice my disappointment vs going to a review and his response was my cordinator should have noticed it wasn't on the invoice (i told her this is how he wanted it done and that's why they weren't there) and he also mentioned the food that was there turned out good as if that was supposed to fix everything. Shelly offered to call me and talk things through, offering creative ways for us to be able to save on spending; paying in cash to reduce card fees, reducing staff by using disposable plates, moving to one protein, etc. We didn't end up needing to do most of these things, but regardless, she indicated she was on our team and would do whatever she could to help us. She was beyond patient with me and kind the whole way through as I went back and forth on what to do. I had endless questions for weeks before booking. On wedding day, everything went off without a hitch. Her team showed up in professional attire, were kind, respectful, and prompt. They were so sweet and kept telling us how beautiful everything was and how grateful they were to be there. The food was SO GOOD. So good in fact we put the leftover scalloped potatoes, prime rib, and artichoke chicken straight in the freezer on wedding night and are just about to run out.
