This is a small town that sits between Granger and Holland. The other two larger cities that are its closest neighbors are Taylor to the south and Temple to the north. This city sprung up in the 1870s due to the railway line and even to this day the tracks bisect through the center of town. Unfortunately, this town suffers from what many small towns are dealing with, and that is economic development. The historic downtown area is almost entirely vacant of businesses and some buildings are boarded up. At this point in time it's literally like a ghost town. There is one source of economic help for this town that comes in the shape of a state prison. For the tourist, there are a couple of barbecue spots, a small city park and a Dollar General if you need your groceries. Hopefully in the next 10 years with all the urban development joining the big cities together, this small town may enjoy the benefits of that in the future, but for now there's not much to see or do here.
