BUYER BEWARE! I can not even start to discuss how important it is for people to be careful working with this company. I had new carpet placed in a large portion of my home. I scheduled it over 4 weeks ahead of time (paying cash upfront for the entire job), as we were on a schedule for selling and moving. The day of service, they cancelled my installation with no real explanation or heads up. They then took over 3 days to even get my carpet installed. They even "forgot" to complete an entire section of the carpet as they "couldn't find the carpet" for that area. While calling to get an explanation and timeframe for installation, the staff were INCREDIBLY rude and unprofessional. The installation was a nightmare. After paying an extra $50 per room for my furniture to be moved, much of the furniture and items were never put back. My personal items were randomly tossed throughout my house and damage was noted on walls, window sills, window treatments, and doors. The installation team also broke one of my beds. I felt victimized in my own home. After attempting to discuss this with personnel in the store, instead of offering a partial refund or even apology, the only resolution was to give me $200 in store credit. I politely declined as I have no intention of ever working with this company in the future. There are a variety of carpet stores with professional installers within this city. I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere the prevent this type of headache within your life. read more

Customer service is horrible!!! The install was done 6 months ago and they have yet to come back to complete the rubber lip on the step. We have attempted to schedule several times with each resulting in a no show and not even the courtesy of a call. Best advice go somewhere else!!! read more

*** Take your business elsewhere where they will respect your time and concerns. Only positive I will give is flooring install looks nice. If i could leave a negative numerical review I would. Number one complaint if you don't want to read all this is, *** employees laughed about situation***, $400 error in calculation of job, no manager is available for days, poor communication, overbook installs and except you to be ok with being put off for days when it was scheduled the week prior. Started off ok. Then got a phone call a few days later saying they made a mistake on install quote and it was going to cost me an additional $400. I had to order the flooring and needed it, so obviously they aren't going to install it you don't pay. I agreed but was annoyed. That's a large mistake to make. At the end of all this, it came down to got laughed in the face by two employees when I went into the store after the install for making a statement. I was in shock and already stressed about the whole situation. I told them when a customer is upset last thing you do is laugh. They were quick to apologize. That was low and a disrespectful. Why any business would allow their employees to treat a customer like that is shocking?! I asked for a manager for 4 days to speak to. Never could. Somehow this is the only business I've ever ran into that doesn't have a manager available to speak with ever and the employees don't even know when their own manager will be in the store. Scheduled flooring to be put in a week prior. They knew the night before their other job wouldn't be finished. They told me this. They then wasted my time waiting around for them the day of install to call and cancel. Rescheduled for next day. Wait around all day again. 530pm comes, still no installers. They ran out of time and had to reschedule for the next day. By the 3rd day, I finally had the flooring installed. Install guys were very nice, but they admitted that this company doesn't inform customers well of waiting times and just book installs, where other places will be honest and tell you how far they are booked out. ***Even one of the employees I spoke with on the phone said they were around others at the moment and couldn't speak aloud, but agreed it is a problem.*** Baseboards, some were broke and no caulking was done once job was finished. Was explained this is common practice to not caulk. Funny, then why did the builders do it and why did a contractor I hired years ago to do a build do it? Could have better finishing standards in my opinion. Will be worth your time to pay a little more money for you sanity...unless you have unlimited time to wait around on people..as in days.. and don't mind paying extra for large miscalculations. I will never be back or recommend them to anyone. read more

This company has TERRIBLE customer service. Their installers walked on the newly installed carpet with shoes on leaving stains. The store and my salesman Mark both knew I wasn't happy. They charged my card the balance of the bill without checking with me to see if the issue was resolved. When I confronted Mark about it he tells me "everyone makes mistakes very sorry in the end great quality carpet with over 600. in savings." It was never anything more than money to them. They don't care about the customer. Save yourself the hassle and use someone else. read more

If you can install the flooring yourself then this is the place to purchase great flooring. However, when it comes to customer service concerning the installers watch out! I had beautiful vinyl flooring installed in my home on April 12, 2019. During the install, my Black and Decker Weed-Eater and Edger Charger came up missing out of my garage. I called the store to report the incident and all the salesman Mark could tell me was the installer admitted to moving the charger but could not recall where he placed it. I had just moved into this home and the garage was empty. I called Customer Service. The rep said she was going to report the incident to the Installation Manager. I never got a call back. read more

The carpet we chose is very nice and our salesman, Greg, was great! Their carpet layers on the other hand... We have had to have them back now twice to do repairs/replace badly installed areas. If I could give them "zero stars", I would. I have been waiting months to have the installers come out to install indoor/outdoor carpet in my 3 season room. The first day I had scheduled, which the temperatures were above the required temperatures needed to install indoor/outdoor carpet, the installers canceled. The next scheduled days, the installers never showed up and no one ever communicated to me that they wouldn't be able to show up. Their scheduling and customer service are absolutely horrible, and I am not one to complain. This is the first negative review I have ever left for any company ever!! 3 months after purchasing my carpet, and I'm still waiting for them to install it. I would not recommend this place!!!!! We purchased flooring 2 years ago and my mom has had numerous rooms done but this last time was pretty bad! She went in and purchased carpet for a spare room . They said it would be installed the following weds. They never called or showed and when she called they said they forgot to put her on the schedule and would be there the next day. Well the next day they called three times to reschedule different times that day. They finally said they would be there at 7:30 pm that day. They never showed or called. The next day they just showed up without calling as she was getting ready to leave and run errands. She waited on them two days in a row and then showed up out of the blue. Buck, the owner, was very pleasant and helpful. So was his assistant, Diane. Mario and his crew did an excellent job putting in carpeting. Installation was done in living & dining rooms, hallway, plus 3 bedrooms. They cleaned up along the way and were extremely careful moving our furniture. Buck even called after our install to make sure everything went smoothly. We would not hesitate to use this company in the future to replace the carpeting in our family room. read more

Went in to buy carpet. was talking to a salesman. he proceeded to tell me the cost for carpet and then the extra fees for removal, etc. I asked him to tell me why I should buy from him instead of buying from retailer just down the street. I found their selection and prices to be decent, and that is why I'm giving them 1 star, but the good experience ends there. Our overall experience was a nightmare. The salesman promised us a two day installation, which a month later took 4 days, and included an unscheduled weekend of our house being a wreck. We found out he ordered the tile a week after he measured. The installers showed up late everyday, and on the last day to finish, a Monday, they showed up at 3:30 or so and of course just wanted to finish it quickly and get the heck out. Once I signed the invoice they practically ran out the door. There was a good 3 hours left to finish. At that point I was just glad to be parted ways with this company. The basic layout of the tile was fine, but many of the edges were poorly cut and left ungrouted.On a white brick fireplace they left grout stains all along the edge, which means I have to paint that. They obviously didnt even bother to tape it. I have begun finishing their work, grouting around the sloppy edging because there is no way I wanted anything else to do with this company. When I told the salesman I wanted something off the bill for all of the hassles, he said they didn't give discounts. He had no appreciation for the time off of work I took to be there, or the frustration of waiting for people who are late or aren't showing up. They did give me small discount but it didn't even come close to making up for the frustration and wasted time. I believe the installers get paid by the square foot and not by the hour, this encourages them to finish as quickly as possible with less concern about the quality of their work. I would recommend buying the material there, but go elsewhere if you're wanting to do business with reputable salespeople and installers. Since I wrote this over a year ago, I have had some people who know something about tile look at our floor, and they are shocked. One even said he suspects the owner would probably have the whole thing torn out and redone if he had seen it. But perhaps not. Anyone who would send out these kind of people to represent their company probably could care less as they are doing lots of volume. Whats a few shoddy jobs and unhappy customers on the bottom line? I have NEVER dealt with a more unprofessional and deceitful company in my entire life! I would never recommend that anyone purchase from City Carpet Outlet! We purchased carpet to be laid in the basement of our brand new home. And the drywall that was literally finish was RUINED by the time their installers were done with it! There is not a spot that they didn't hit with their stretchers (not to mention a baseboard trim will not cover it!!) There is spots that they hit on the wall that could have only been done through carelessness! We are looking at $1600 to fix their damage!!! They carpeted over things in three places and have no call/no showed THREE weeks in a row to fix that problem!!!!! The manager refuses to return my calls and has received pictures of the damage 4 weeks ago! You may think that City Carpet will save you money but I promise you'll be paying more in the end plus the added stress, it's NOT worth it!! read more
