The food was very good overall, about an 8 out of 10. The corn pudding is amazing and easily a 100 out of 10. I order it every year for family gatherings and Thanksgiving, and it never disappoints. The only issue during our visit was that the inside of the restaurant was very smoky. My daughter and I had to wait outside because it was hard to breathe, and the cashier mentioned the fan was broken. Hopefully this gets fixed soon, as it isn't healthy for customers or employees. Came in on a Sunday night around 7:30, about 6 people ahead of us in line. We ordered and then sat down to wait for the name he put on my ticket to be called. Not sure where he got the name from, as it was not mine, but the food listed was correct so it didn't matter. After about 25 minutes of waiting, I noticed that several people who came in after us were eating, and others ahead of us were leaving. I walked up to the counter to ask, but the employees did not acknowledge that I was there at all. I looked at the trays they were putting food on and saw that all the order times were almost 30 minutes after our order was placed, and I did not see a ticket for my order at all. Employees were also shouting at each other that they were running out of some items. After about 10 minutes of standing there, an older employee asked me what I was looking for, and I told her I had been waiting over 30 minutes and didn't see my order. She barked back, "everyone's waiting!" I went on to explain that everyone who was around me in line was gone, and I believed my order had been skipped. She snatched my ticket from my hand and then informed me they were out of everything we had ordered. No explanation for why we had just been left to sit there, and no apology. She told us we could pick from what they had left or get a refund. With it being Sunday, there were not many options and we were also going to a movie and had to leave soon for that. I have to say personally. This has to be one of the best barbecue places in Snellville, Georgia. I am very impressed by the food and the service here is excellent. I love the wings the sauce the sweet city is the best one and the swine wine.I think that's what it's called is the best.Two but one of them is vinegar.Which can be a little too acidic depending on how you take it.But it's actually excellent. I love the brisket chili.It was one of the best chilies i've tasted in my lifetime. Now, I actually have to say I was completely unsure about the corn pudding.I've never tried it before.But I decided to take a chance and I love it. The texture is amazing and it has a bit of a sweetness to it too.But not too sweet. Now, when it came to the triple chocolate cake.Oh, my gosh it has to be one of the best cakes i've tried in a restaurant in such a long time. Usually I don't get a lot of dessert when it comes to dinner.But I was very impressed with this one. The ambience here was top-notch. My experience at City Barbeque in Snellville, Georgia, was disappointing overall. The food lacked flavor, and the meat was dry, which was unexpected given the reputation. The side portions were also small for the price. Service was slower than expected, especially since the restaurant was nearly empty during my visit. I love this place and I don't understand why it's not busier. IMHO it beats jim n nicks hands down! Normally I get the pork nachos delicious BUT I decided to try one of their new baked potato offerings. I chose the one with pork and queso with red onions. Well ... their potato wasn't much bigger than Red Lobsters and we know they have the tiniest potatoes ever . It was loaded with pork but no onions and very little queso so maybe that's on the person that made it. I've attached a picture and again IMHO it wasn't worth $11. My friend got the pulled pork sandwich with fries (always fresh cut homemade fries so good) his sandwich would've made 3 for me . Their tea is always so yummy and sure to bring a rewards member I got a free drink. There was one table with 6 ladies playing catch up on their lives and several to go order pick ups and this was at 2:00pm. I want to try their brisket chili b4 it's gone. If today's experience had been my first time here, I probably would not come back. The pork was overcooked and very dry. Definitely had to use sauce in order to be able to even chew it. The mac and cheese was also overcooked by at least 2 to 3 minutes. The top was way too crunchy and also tough to eat. That being said, the sausage and turkey were both good like usual and the okra was also pretty good. The staff was extremely busy fulfilling what I can only assume was a large catering order. So the food took several minutes longer than it usually does. It was a little strange to me that they left bins of coleslaw sitting out on a rolling cart for way longer than is probably food-safe. I sure hope nobody gets sick from it. We will return and just hope for a better experience next time. Most of the time when we come here our experience is good. read more

First time after it being open maybe a year now. Surprised only 2 vehicles ahead of us as the reviews noted long lines. We viewed the menu online so we knew what we wanted. Customer service was on point. Paid at the window later told to pull up for the order. The other 2 vehicles that were there when we pulled up were waiting for their order. Appears most are cooked to order. I did see in a prior review that the okra is cooked to order. Check your order prior to pulling off. The chipotle ranch was not in the bag. The server had not walked away so he brought 2 cups. We did not go inside but from the looks of it it's very casual as far as dress code. Now to the food as far as whether it's a hit or miss. Ok so the okra was soggy looks nothing like the pic online. The Nashville Hot was spicy but not too overwhelming. I couldn't really taste the chicken as far as whether it was seasoned due to the heat, mayo and coleslaw. I wouldn't order it again. My husband says the Chipotle sandwich was ok nothing to brag about. It was tender and little spicy but nothing like the Nashville Hot. It's 2 sandwiches on a hoagie bun. I had the - Smoked Turkey sandwich $7.99 3 Sides Plate - mac & cheese $2.99 - corn pudding $2.99 - banana pudding $4.99 Total was around $19ish bucks yet I wish I knew about app beforehand because you get $5 off for signing up, free cobbler, and a free side offer The portions are pretty fair sized, the Turkey sandwich is a lot! It's exactly as pictured on their online menu. It was nice with smoked flavor. The mac & cheese was a bit bland but not too bad. It's not the type of Mac & cheese you'd crave and come back for. The corn pudding was okay not too bad! The banana pudding was the star of the show and the best banana pudding I've ever had. It has delicious fresh whipped cream and it's perfectly sweetened. I will actually make sure to get the pint size or bigger next time haha! I didn't get a chance to go inside but someone mentioned it's a bit smokey inside so I guess keep that in mind if you have asthma or similar. I like the fact that they have a drive thru...scratch that. I LOVE the fact that they have a drive thru. I can't think of any other place where you can get bbq through the drive thru. I ordered the 2 meat sampler with the ribs and pulled chicken. Both meats were great! Tender, juicy and I didn't even need sauce (although I did have sauce) which is how bbq is supposed to be. For the sides, I ordered mac and cheese, green beans, and baked beans. Those sides were pretty basic to me. The Mac and cheese was cheesy but bland. Although the green beans had bits of bacon, it didn't taste anything special. I just knew the baked beans would be good but they were too sweet for me. I ordered peach cobbler for dessert but they were out so I had the banana pudding and baybeeee it did not disappoint! I'm not a big fan of banana pudding unless it's my Aunts but this was the BEST banana pudding I've ever had!! I was skeptical because the container was cold so I guess they refrigerate their desserts and I don't like cold desserts. Room temperature please! So I let it sit for a minute. The packaging could be better. Maybe put the sides in a separate bag because as I was driving, they fell out of the bag. Thankfully the lids stayed put. All in all, I will definitely be back. Been going to City Barbeque for years. Their fresh cut fries have always been my go-to. Today, I decided to just order a basket of fries and a sweet tea to go. Not sure if they changed the recipe for the fries (I know that is hard) but I'm just trying to figure out what changed, because these were not the fries I knew and loved. They tasted like old grease and were clearly previously frozen. I've always known them to be fresh cut. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised at how good the barbecue was at this location. Typically retail barbecue is not the greatest thing in the world, but I was very surprised at how good the corn pudding and the brisket sandwich I had. The brisket was piled high, was super tender and with a little bit of their sweet barbecue sauce it really hit the spot. I asked for a sample of the corn pudding before I ordered and it convinced me to get that as my side and boy was a happy camper with that. The prices were fair. The chicken was mediocre. The sides were okay. Nice place to go sit down and eat. The service was okay. The cashier turned me off by wiping his bleeding pimples with his hand and touching the cash register and afterwards he put his apron on to go cut meat. We ordered two Texas Reuben sandwiches a fry, and two drinks. Wanted to try the pastrami. The pastrami was very good, with a nice amount of smoke, not as briny as some make it.
