This is not your corner bbq joint. This is more of an upscale bbq spot. It also gave off a romantic…read moretype of vibe. Seating is very close and intimate and nice music is playing in the background. At first glance it seemed like a place you would want to come back to again and again. The waitress/cashier was very welcoming upon our entrance. I don't know if she was one of the owners but she was very nice and apologetic. We drove 30 minutes to try out this restaurant and let's just say it was not worth the drive. Since it was our first time there we were excited to try some of the ribs. Unfortunately they were out of the pork ribs. They were also out of the mac and cheese. That was a little disappointing but I figured because we got there around 7 and they close at 8 they could have run out of items. No biggie. We opted to get the fried chicken with fries and fried mushrooms. I got the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings, and a lemonade. The lemonade was perfect, to me it wasn't too sweet and had just enough tartness to make you want to drink more. Presentation was EVERYTHING. When the sandwich came out I wasn't even sure how to eat it lol. It looked great on the wooded plate. I wish the plates would have been bigger because the sandwich was a little sloppy, nonetheless it was presented very classy. The bowl that the onion rings came in was also wood and it was cute and different. I have not seen dishes like this before. The chicken was on one of the wooded classy plates a little small for the chicken but cute as well. Now here is the part where I had to deduct stars. The chicken was fried perfectly, it was juicy, crispy and hot. The only thing that was missing was the seasoning. It was very bland there was absolutely no salt or pepper or any flavoring that I could taste on the chicken. I just knew we couldn't go wrong with the chicken because after all it is a bbq spot right? Wrong..maybe because it was late they were just trying to get the food out so they could go home. But whatever the case it was not good. We did not have any bbq sauce or hot sauce. It wasn't offered and we didn't ask. Same thing with the fried mushrooms. The coating did not have any flavor and we did not have any dipping sauce. Again we didn't ask and it wasn't offered. The waitress did provide ketchup with both meals, but I feel like something was off with the flavoring. The onion rings were good and the steak fries were good. I would not drive that distance just for those items. One couple at a table next to ours had something that looked like fish or very large chicken tenders. Either way hers did look good but I wondered if it had any flavor. Hers was plain, no sauce or anything like that. I did see she had something to dip the food in and it looked like she enjoyed it. As I mentioned previously it is a very cosy atmosphere. It was very humid inside though and the sunlight was beaming in hard. The waitress tried to close the curtains but that didn't help much because the curtains were kind of see-through so the sun still hit us hard in the face and back, and again because it was so late maybe they had turned down the a/c. The waitress did apologize but basically there was nothing she could do about that. They do have a rewards program that you can sign up for to aquire points and discounts on things but I wasted time signing up because I will not be returning. I was so excited to have a new bbq place to frequent but unfortunately this will not be the one. To end on a positive note, the presentation was everything and the environment was very inviting.

Also, they were out of brisket which is what the whole family was craving, so two red flags. We wanted to run out and go to the Mexican Restaurant next door, but then the manager came out and change our whole mood. We got chicken wings, a veggie platter, a burger and beef ribs. It was so delicious and you can tell they really season their food and cook their food with love. The ambience was gorgeous and felt so cozy. I definitely am coming back to this restaurant.

The Mac and cheese was also fantastic. It was rich and flavorful. Very special. My one surprise was the root beer. I tried that and it was really smooth and flavorful. Great taste. The service is always outstanding. See you again soon. Love this family establishment.

The dining area looked clean and well-kept, and the hostess/cashier was genuinely friendly--she took the time to walk us through the menu, drinks, sauces, and even the different pickles, which I appreciated. We ordered the brisket, ribs, mac & cheese, green beans, two sauces (both free), house and spicy pickles (also free), and a Banana Cream Soda. 2 Slices of Brisket - $9 (3.5/5): The brisket was solid overall--tender with a nice, juicy interior and a lightly smoky aroma that came through in each bite. It wasn't dry at all, which is always a win, though it could've had a bit more depth in flavor on its own. That said, it really came alive when paired with the spicy sauce, which added a bold, tangy kick that elevated the meat nicely. 2 Pork Spare Ribs - $7 (4/5): These were definitely a highlight. The ribs were beautifully seasoned with a savory, slightly sweet rub that formed a flavorful crust on the outside. The meat was incredibly tender--so much so that it fell clean off the bone with just a fork, no effort needed. Juicy, rich, and super satisfying, especially with the spicy sauce adding an extra layer of heat and tang. Mac & Cheese - $4.50 (4/5): Very impressive side. The spiral noodles were cooked perfectly--tender but still holding their shape, not mushy at all. What stood out most was the texture: there was a subtle crunch on top, possibly from a light breadcrumb or rice-based topping, which added a nice contrast. The cheese sauce was creamy, rich, and coated every curve of the spirals, so each bite had these little pockets of cheesy goodness that almost "popped" with flavor. The sprinkle of green onions on top added a fresh, slightly sharp brightness that cut through the richness and made the dish feel surprisingly refreshing. Green Beans - $4.50 (3.5/5): These had a great bite to them--crisp-tender with a fresh, vibrant texture. The seasoning was flavorful with a savory base, but what surprised me most was the subtle heat that built up as you ate more. It wasn't overpowering, just a nice, unexpected kick that made them more interesting than your typical side. House Pickles (free) - 2/5: These were very crunchy and had a sharp, vinegary tang that leaned heavily on the sour side. While they were fresh and crisp, the flavor felt a bit one-dimensional and overly acidic for my taste. Spicy Pickles (free) - 4/5: Much better balance here. Still nice and crunchy with that same sour backbone, but the added heat gave them a bold, zesty edge that made them way more enjoyable. The spice lingered just enough to keep you reaching for another. Banana Cream Soda - $2 (2.5/5): This was light, fizzy, and refreshing with a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. The banana flavor was present but very subtle--more of a faint, artificial sweetness than a rich, ripe banana taste. It leaned more toward a mellow vanilla-cream soda vibe with just a hint of banana in the background. Not bad, just a bit underwhelming if you're expecting a bold, dessert-like banana flavor. Overall, a solid BBQ spot with friendly service and some standout items--especially the ribs and mac & cheese. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for a laid-back, no-frills lunch.
