Kind customer service. Got croissant sandwiches and natural orange juice and it was super. I will be back for sure

In and out in under 5 minutes this morning! The staff was super kind, greeted me as soon as I walked in, and got my order out quickly. The bagel itself was delicious. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese with jalapeño cream cheese, plus a medium bottled water, and a bag of popcorn. Total came to $17. Plenty of seating available if you want to dine in, which is a nice option. Overall, tasty food, fast service, and a welcoming atmosphere!

City Bagels!

I've lived in San Jose for years, and somehow, I had never been here until today. And wow, this place rocks! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello. The staff is welcoming and hard at work making fresh bagels. This spot isn't just a bagel shop--it also doubles as a donut shop, and let me tell you, their donuts do not disappoint. We went for the star of the show: the bagels. We ordered a turkey bagel sandwich. The bagel was fresh, the turkey portion was generous, and overall, it was an outstanding sandwich. We also grabbed a small order of donut holes, and they were just as good. TL;DR: Great local bagel and donut shop--fresh food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. This spot has every bagel imaginable. If you're in the downtown area, make this place a part of your morning routine. Thanks, City Bagels!

So was traveling to San Jose for work and was jetlagged from a 2 week vacation in Asia Pac. I flew right in to San Jose coming off my vacation and was clearly jetlagged at 3 AM in the morning on Monday. After a quick search, i was able to find that City Bagels showed up as an option and it showed a 5:30 AM. The place was not a far walk from the hotel but i was worried that the time would be a bit later than 5:30 as it felt early. I waited till 5:50 AM or so and was sure glad i did as i think these folks have updated their hours to be open at 6 AM now vs 5:30 so be aware yelpers! The folks running the joint were SUPER friendly and i really appreciated the high energy and friendliness they brought. The offerings are pretty expensive with bagels, sandos, donuts, and then even other pastry type items im used to seeing at asian bakeries. I ended up ordering the SEC on a croissant which was a sizeable sandwich which was a plus. The Sausage lacked a bit of flavor for my personal like so would have liked hot sauce. Regardless, i appreciate such an early spot being open in downtown SJC and the level of service they brought to the experience. Loved the broad selection of items.

My serving dish with a missing - because I ate it so fast - cream cheese bagel. And my piping hot coffee.

A lucky detour--and a much better choice I happened upon City Bagels by chance while headed toward a certain broken-leg-logo'd national coffee chain--only because I didn't know any better. Fortunately, I looked up at just the right moment. What I found was a quiet, unassuming shop in downtown San Jose serving one of the best bagels I've had in a long time. My cream cheese and poppyseed bagel was fresh, hot, and full of flavor--crispy outside, soft and warm inside, exactly how a bagel should be. The coffee was just as impressive: hot, smooth, and satisfying without trying too hard. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable, with a kind of easy, unhurried energy that's hard to find these days. It feels like a family-owned business--and in all the best ways. Friendly, attentive, and focused on quality over flash. City Bagels was a happy accident I'll be repeating on purpose next time I'm in town. Skip the chain. Go here instead.

I walked in to order and was not acknowledged at all I stood there about 5 mins waiting to order but no one helped me as a person of color this was definitely discrimination everyone who walked in after me was immediately helped o will not visit here again also I noticed the workers do not change their gloves when handling food and money experience was zero stars

I came here for breakfast on a weekday with my sister. We each ordered a Lox Bagel Sandwich and a Vietnamese Coffee. We also ordered a dozen donut holes to share. Tell me why my total was $48?!?! I won't be retuning as when you pay with card, the lady ringing you up literally stares at you when the tip screen pops up.. This is a grab-and-go bagel shop not a sit down restaurant. The Vietnamese coffee wasn't strong enough and didn't taste like Vietnamese coffee at all. The donut holes were terrible - extremely dry. The Lox Bagel was fine. They added lettuce which I thought was strange as that doesn't usually pair with Lox. There is street parking right in front of the storefront.

This place was soooo yummy. We ordered 2 bagel sandwiches and a third w just garlic cream cheese. The garlic cream cheese was definitely the star. Staff is super friendly- we got created as soon as we walked in and the bagels were ready quickly. The place was super casual.

City Bagels is a sort of hole-in-the-wall, hidden gem for fast, cheap food. While I personally find the food on the bland side, it's easily zhuzhed with a bit of salt or hot sauce. The staff is always friendly, creating an atmosphere of familiarity that makes you feel like you've been stopping by for a bite forever. Service is prompt, and it never taken longer than a few minutes to receive my order. The coffee is great, the bagels are warm, you can buy cream cheese by the tub, it's never crazy busy, and the prices are fantastic.

#5 Turkey Club

My friends and I were craving some bagels and decided to stop by the nearest bagel shop, we all absolutely loved our bagels. It wasn't too crowded, and the wait time to get our orders taken and wait for our food was fairly short. I got the turkey sandwich on a pesto bagel and it was sooooooo good 10/10, my friends got BLTs on a garlic bagel. We all collectively decided that this is our new local bagel shop, 10/10 would come again. Do keep in mind that since it's downtown, parking was a little tough to find.

This seems like a go to place for people! The people there were having good conversations with their regulars which I thought was very wholesome. The jalapeño cheese bagel was really good! It had a good amount of spice to it. Only thing is we thought we didn't get enough cream cheese. Maybe it's us being spoiled by House of Bagels, but if I come back here I'd request for more cream cheese. The cinnamon raisin bagel was all right but I would prefer it more toasted. Again it didn't have much cream cheese. It didn't really stand out too much though so I'll probably go for other bagels instead.

Outstanding human being. Thank you both! @Linkedin/JohniCheriRocha

Thank you to the wonderful business family at @City Bagels for your continued hospitality and always delivering on my impromptu large phone orders. The staff atCity Bagels staff care deeply about their customers and it is shown in the value of the service they provide. The amount of trust they have is unheard of. For example, in my last-minute order, they brewed fresh coffee and allowed me to take the entire commercial coffee urn with a promise i would return with no hesitation. Also their smiles lit up anyone's day. Thank you so much City Bagels!

Ok I do like the bagels here but I might not come back for a while…read more. We came on a Saturday around 10:30am and there was a longgg line outside. We waited about 25-30min. The shop is quite small inside with no tables so it's to-go only. We got: - Ube Almond (5/5): this was my personal favorite but the almond flavor is strong so if you don't like almond you may want to skip this - Cali Roll (5/5): Really good! However if I had to choose between this and a california sushi roll, I would probably just go for sushi tbh haha - Miso Scallion (4/5): Their seasonal AAPI month flavor. I couldn't really taste the miso scallion. It just tasted like cream cheese to me. But my husband really liked this one! Also, I'd like to note that we happened to get their last Ube Almond of the day (I felt bad hearing them tell the party after us it was sold out now). So I would recommend arriving earlier than we did. Overall, while the bagels did taste good, they were all VERY oily. Like oil literally drips out as you squeeze the bagel. So they're quite heavy to eat in the morning and not something I would get often.

While waiting we joked that the bagels must be hella messy if there's only wet wipes on the counter, no normal napkins. We had no idea how right we were. Very greasy bagels (to be expected, if they're dipped in butter). I make fun of my boyfriend for sometimes using a fork and knife with pizza -- this is a fork-knife bagel. Pork floss was delish, tons of butter and garlic flavor, soft and slightly sweet bagel, good mix of textures. The corn was a surprise...flavor wise it works, but it falls out all over the place. Fork definitely recommended. Bf's garlic Asiago was just as greasy, more garlicky, and I didn't think it was any better than a typical cheesy garlic bread. I would skip that one. It was good, don't get me wrong, it just didn't seem special or worthwhile. These bagels seem more gimmicky than anything. Good, but overpriced. Probably won't return.

It's not my preferred bagel spot but when I'm in the shopping center for other business and the bagel craving strikes, I'll pop in. I typically get an everything bagel with cream cheese from this shop. The bagels always taste good but I've found that their cream cheese isn't as great as it used to be. Perhaps they changed vendors. They always toast the bagels nicely, which I appreciate. They are generous with the cream cheese which leads to a messy eating experience. You'Ll want to make sure to have several napkins. They offer a large variety of bagel flavors and there's something for every craving here. I would love if they could improve the jalapeño cheddar bagel. They put such a small amount of cheese and jalapeños to the point that I wonder why they bother. Jalapeño and cheese bagels are my preference and it seems so few places can get them right these days. Service is prompt and the turn around time from order to receipt is quick. Order at the register and pick it up at another counter when they're call your number. It's typically busy here but despite that I never wait too long. After my half-year in the Bay Area, I frequently find myself craving a good NYC-style bagel, and, while Boichik Bagels hasn't _quite_ cracked the code, they've gotten pretty darn close. Their bagels are delightfully dense and slightly chewy, with a great snap from the crust. They're a little bit heavier than my average NYC bagel, but they've definitely mastered the NYC-style ginormous schmear of cream cheese and/or loaded breakfast sandwich. I've enjoyed their bagels in both sandwich form (huge fan of the whitefish salad with cucumbers and tomatoes for a more protein-rich / substantive meal) and with just a generous helping of cream cheese (of which they have quite a few flavors, including several vegan options). They don't have a _ton_ of bagel flavors, but they do have all the classics. Boichik also has a surprising love for pumpernickel; while the classic pumpernickel is delicious, I'm a huge fan of their pumpernickel caraway salt for a bit of extra herb flavor and savoriness. The staff is friendly and efficient. While there isn't any seating inside, there's a smattering of tables outside or you can always snag a seat elsewhere in Town & Country.
