Very happy with the great prompt service and price! Read that he does mostly European cars and my BMW had a loud noise in the engine while driving. The place is huge. He occupies the garage and the defunct gas station adjoining it. Tony took one look and said the crankcase gasket had to be changed. He gave me a quote after making a few calls (all oem parts) and it was $500 less than the dealer price. Car was ready the next morning. I would highly recommend City Auto Center. Took me almost 40 mins drive but well worth it. He gets quite busy because he's very good and fast. Another note: Hightstown is a small old town and has lots of local shops and restos to walk and browse.

Long review so I will cut to the chase for those that don't like to read. We all have had That…read morecringe feeling that comes about. This is whenever there's a possibility that includes (CRC) cars, repairs, cost. So in short--Great customer care- in My opinion is So Lacking in our world today patient, and responsive, kicker is -- Honest. Okay Longer Version--I bought a used 2019 Equinox from a dealership. In which I previously bought a Kia Sorento, from them , that was nothing but problems. I Returned that one and I got the Equinox in replacement. I found no issues with my Equinox.. Car ran good. Then my engine light came on. I brought it to my local Auto Zone. They offer the free diagnosis. They run the test right there it's a quick convenience. Tech there said it was my battery. Although he checked it out and said it looked semi new he didn't see any signs of corrosion. So the light went out and all seemed fine. Until my long trip from SC to NJ. My car was giving me a feeling of slip of some kind. Not major slippage, just slightly to cause concern. My engine Light appears again. So I pulled over and looked at my engine. Why? I don't know why! It's the thing. We all do it, well most people do it. -Ya know what I'm talking about. You have cause for fear. So you pull over. Ya Do the old pop the hood open thing. and then you just do the stare. We all have seen some poor person pulled over to the side. Hood opened up. Then both hands on the hip stance. Then comes the blank stare. As if it's going to tell you something?! Right? But I did take note that I saw fluid of some kind underneath puddling, if you will, from where I had pulled aside. I also understood that I was in and out of the many rain storms I was driving through. So I decided to pull my vehicle up some to see if it would show up again in a new spot. Allowing time for it to. So After shoveling some of my stuff in my car I took a look. And I noticed that there was a small stream like that seemed as if it were again, from underneath my vehicle. Understanding it had rained- but this was new-wetting on top. It did resonated enough with me. The slightest slip and then engine light appeared perhaps fluid of some kind. I had to have some kind of concerns. I Made an appointment with AAMCO in Hightstown. I spoke with a gentleman representative named Mark who was helpful and polite. I explained my experience and concerns with him. I agreed to take it the next night. I Dropped off my vehicle overnight. Next mid-morning I received a text message from Mark asking for a call back. Anyone who has ever had to drop off their used car in a shop for any repairs or problems - knows that -cringey feeling- you get in your stomach when you have to drop it off and then you wait. It's like waiting for the hospital to call and give you the news from your test results. You get the "Cringey Feeling " when either having to receive the call or make it for that report, (Bad News). I called Mark back quickly after. Mark had answered, He gave me the good news, bad news comment. There goes that cringe feeling again. He gave me the good news first. Nothing wrong with my transmission! Whew! He throughly explained to me what Ryan the mechanic did. He gave me the diagnosis run down of the test performed. ( All jibber-est to me Lol) He said It all seemed electrical to which they don't provide that type of service. Ugh! He instructed me that I needed to take it to the Chevrolet Dealer to have it serviced. I asked them, Mark & Ryan, did they see any evidence of other potential problems? He addressed my question with a straight answer that no issues other than which he told me about. I asked the question (cringe feeling) what was the damage, cost? He told me that there were none! Listen, I understand that most engine light diagnostic test generally, ..in most repair shops, ..not all, ..are free. At least that's for reputable ones. But in today's world, unfortunately , A lot of shops try and take advantage of their customer. Some dishonest repair shops try even with a simple oil change, to trick customers into some type BS that's needed for them and subsequently ended up being an unnecessary expense to them. With that being said. Here is where to take into consideration what I refer to as "That cringe feeling factor in the stomach from those such experiences; explains as to how it was formed and born. With all all that whew! Right! You only had to read I had to type it! Seriously. I don't do it often. Only when I can provide positive feedback I give my review. I would highly recommend the shop. If there is anyone who can relate to my memoir or autobiography that I've just written. lol.. I would give them the opportunity and consideration to provide you at the same type of service that I received.

Thank you AAMCO taking the high road, and I also appreciate owner Mark Balkovic providing me a ride home from the shop. To prospective customers, I would suggest clarifying with this business the details of the repair, costs, anticipated date of repair completion, and any possible risks to that timetable.

RE: Common Vision. Lee is the kind of mechanic who is passionate about diagnosing car problems and…read morefinding solutions. I found him here on Yelp and hired him for a PPI to look at a 2003 Tiburon. A family member is an enthusiast for these old cars which they wanted to make into a "hot hatch". I met Lee at the dealer, which was a long drive to the dealer for both of us. And of course the car was in a back lot 3 or 4 rows deep. So while waiting for the dealer to find the car and bring it to the front, Lee noticed some teenagers who were there to look at a Civic SI. One of them was checking for rust by knocking his knuckles on the car body. Lee smiled at this and went over to chat with them and before you know it, he was reviewing the car with them, explaining how you really check for rust, opened the hood and began digging into how to tell if this Civic was running well or not. He looks underneath the car by getting on the ground and actually looking. I noticed all the other guys, both the dealer guys and the buyers, were hesitant to do this. I think they were intimidated because he obviously knew much more about engines than they did. I was impressed that Lee has the instincts of an educator. He really wants to not just evaluate the car but to teach others how to examine a car. Eventually the Tiburon appears and then Lee quickly went through his process. He focuses on the engine and doesn't move on from that until all issues are covered. In this case, he zeroed in immediately on the coolant system. It wasn't holding pressure. I watched as he carefully tested and retested and showed the dealer technician that the system was bad and that it was leaking. We had already been there for an hour and a half so it was decided that the dealer would pull a hose from another car ( the dealer was close to a salvage yard) and repair it and then Lee would return to test it again. In the end, even the dealer gave up on this car, he didn't complete any repair and we moved on. But I will have Lee examine any car we are considering. He is an excellent mechanic, fair and honest.

DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!…read more On 10/3/25, my husband paid Lee Wiles / Common Vision LLC $1,020 (plus a $281 tip) for axle and brake repair. Less than 24 hours later, the car broke down in a dangerous way. AAA confirmed the repair was unsafe and improperly done, and another certified mechanic verified this. The axle came out and nearly caused a serious accident. When I contacted him, instead of refunding the payment, he admitted in text messages that "the axle came out" but refused to return the money. He also tried to deflect responsibility by making inappropriate comments about race and insisted on "fixing" it again -- despite my clear statements that I no longer trusted him after such unsafe work. I have full documentation: receipt, CashApp payment, AAA confirmation, mechanic statement, and text messages from his phone. This needs to be on record to prevent him from scamming and endangering others. He is also not listed with the BBB as a registered business -- but I have filed a complaint so there will now be a record. If he scammed you too, REPORT HIM. Businesses that operate this way do not last. Add On: It's not harassment to ask for my money back after a repair failed in less than 24 hours and almost caused an accident. AAA confirmed the axle came out because of improper work, and a certified mechanic verified this. I provided proof: receipt, CashApp payment, and text messages where Mr. Wiles himself admitted "the axle came out." I made it very clear that I would not allow him to touch my car again after such an unsafe repair. At that point, the only responsible action was to issue a refund. Instead, he refused, deflected responsibility, and made inappropriate comments about race. This is not about being "nice" or "polite." It's about safety, integrity, and accountability. I stand by my review and documentation. Others deserve to know what happened so they can protect themselves. DO NOT TRUST HIM!!

Last week, I called and made an appointment to have an energy chain link installed in my van. I explained clearly that I would be traveling from New York, about 80 miles, and I spoke with Rigo, who assured me they had handled this type of work many times before. When I arrived for the appointment, I handed over the van on time and spoke directly with the mechanic to make sure he understood what needed to be installed and how. Right away, I felt concerned because he did not seem familiar with the job. Still, I trusted them because I had been told they could handle the work. After about an hour, the mechanic could not locate the electric plug. My sister had to show him where it was, which made me even more surprised and concerned. If they had done this type of work many times before, I expected the mechanic to be more familiar with the process. After several more hours, nothing meaningful was completed. I was told they were calling someone else to help guide them, but still nothing was resolved. After waiting around five hours, I was finally told that the part I brought would not work and that they would have to order another part. I was willing to leave a deposit for the correct part, but then I was given a bill charging approximately $508 for diagnostic fees. I was shocked. I was not clearly informed upfront about this diagnostic charge, and after waiting so long with no repair completed, I felt this was completely unfair. In my opinion, the shop should have been honest from the beginning if they did not have the right experience or mechanic available for this type of work. Instead, I drove a long distance, waited for hours, left with the van still not fixed, and then was presented with a large diagnostic bill. The owner came across as a smooth talker, but based on my experience, I did not feel treated fairly or professionally. Overall, this was an awful experience. I would not recommend this dealership or repair shop. Anyone considering using them should be very careful and ask for all charges in writing upfront before leaving a vehicle there.

Dishonest Auto Repair Shop - Overcharged and Poor Communication…read more I had a frustrating experience with this auto repair shop. After the service, I asked for a receipt and was told it would be emailed. A day later, I still hadn't received anything, so I sent a follow-up email--no response. I had to drive all the way back just to get my receipt. When I finally got it, the receipt was vague and unprofessional. It didn't break down the cost of parts and labor--instead, everything was lumped together. They charged me $100 to replace an engine oil drain plug cap and "diagnose" the issue. I looked up the part on the dealership's website--it costs just $12. You do the math. This kind of lack of transparency and excessive pricing is unacceptable. I wouldn't trust them again. And I just realized the receipt had actually been created that same day ( the day I drove back)---meaning they didn't even prepare it after my service like they said. That's incredibly dishonest.
