    Look for the truck

Check them out if y'all haven't! Delicious açaí bowls and coffee with excellent customer service! We got the chance to check them out at the MKT market and hope to see them around more events in town! Can't wait to go back and get another açaí bowl.

It was my first time trying out something from this cute food truck. Great customer service, the woman who took my order was very sweet! I tried an açaí bowl for the first time and it was delicious--fruits were ripe and fresh! The classic açaí bowl is definitely worth trying, and I liked how you are able to build your own bowl as well. I'm looking forward to trying their coffee next time! Also pictured is an açaí bowl that looked exactly like the one I had ordered.

Had the pleasure to try Citizens food truck while they were at Memorial Park on a Sunday. We ordered a small Coconut Island Bowl which had organic coconut ice cream with a variety of yummy toppings. Super refreshing to gobble down during a day at the park. We also got pup cup which our dog gave a paws up for as well!

Cheap bottle of water for $3 SERIOUSLY??? Wtf

I also did not know that they would have people come in to speak on the issue and I found it insightful. For those interested, I believe they will have these talks every 4th Friday of every month :) Aside from that, the baristas were very nice! The seating inside is super cozy and comfy and I also liked that there's a lot of outlets where I could plug my devices in. For my drink I ordered an iced Sweet Toff. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and I liked how the toffee flavor wasn't too overpowering of the coffee flavor

It's undoubtedly casual with a hipstery feel that is reminiscent of something that would be in Austin or Portland. The name is also appropo since I can never get out of here without ordering at least two cups of something. The interior is nice with a bit of a warehouse vibe but lots of natural lighting and a good amount of seating from sofas to communal tables and even covered outdoor seating. Parking isn't a problem and there's It's usually nice and quiet, which makes it a really ideal place to hit the ground running with some laptop action. The fairly fast WiFi is an added plus. Another thumbs up is their affordable prices which are around $5 or less. In the inflated world of coffee and foodflation, this is always a thumbs up. Ironically I end up ordering their most expensive drinks, which are mainly their house favorites ($5.50). The secret squirrel, mochanut, sweet toff, and white mocha, which are all a solid option. Their matcha latte ($5) and lemonade ($3) are refreshing and easy to order on any of our warmest days. Service has also been among their strong suits. They've been efficient with orders, good to point people out to where bathrooms, WiFi passwords, and focusing on their mission of ending human trafficking. They have noted themselves as Houston's first non-profit coffee shop that is dedicated to ending human trafficking. Well then. In that case, I'll have another cup.

Today we finally stopped by the new Houston Ave location and went through the drive-thru. Safe to say it lived up to the hype! We ordered the Mazapán cold brew, the Banana Latte, and two breakfast tacos. The drinks were AMAZING--both flavorful without being overly sweet, and the Mazapán cold brew especially stood out. The breakfast tacos were also really good and the perfect quick bite with coffee. Everything came out quickly and the drive-thru experience was smooth. We'll definitely be back on weekends or days off. My only wish is that they opened earlier since I pass by on my way to work and they open at 8 AM. Overall, such a great first visit. Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area!

For my flight I picked: The Horchata Latte which was my favorite of the flight! It has a great horchata flavor, light cinnamon, creamy and all without being overly sweet. The Banana Latte was my second favorite in terms of flavor. I wasn't a big fan of the chunky texture from the smashed banana (not something I enjoy in coffee in general), but the banana flavor itself wasn't overpowering, which I really liked. The Mazapan Cold Brew was my third favorite. It's a true cold brew topped with a delicious cold foam. Last but not least the Cafe de Olla Cold Brew was a solid and strong cold brew with a creamy finish. While there I ordered the Macadamia Nut Latte just to try which tasted exactly as expected smooth and nutty, but just ok. I also ordered my absolute favorite coffee at Carino Cafe which is the Cortadillo Latte. It was so good the last time that I had to get a large this time! This Carino Coffee Cafe location offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to relax, study, and socialize. They serve coffee until 4pm then transition into Rabbit's Got the Gun a bar that's open until 2am, which is honestly like experiencing two spots in one. The service was excellent, the drinks were creative and well made (all iced with almond milk). I'd definitely recommend checking this coffee shop out if you're in the area!
