Not sure they are in business to stay in business . . . because they like losing money…read more 1. First let me say that I truly appreciate that Sunmark took my auto loan at around $50,000. My credit was not stellar and I truly appreciate that they even took the loan. 2. My rep asked me if I wanted Gap and Disability insurance, on the loan. I have (for free at my work) disability insurance of over $150k in case of illness or death. I do NOT need or want Disability insurance, so I declined. 3. They quietly added disability to my loan without telling me. I was quoted about 10% interest and a payment of around $820/month. 4. My final loan payment was over $100 higher than expected !!!! 5. It was higher because hey added in a cost of over $6,000 for disability insurance that I don't need. Don't want, and verbally declined. 6. I accept partial responsibility as, I signed the loan without noticing this detail. That was a fail on my due diligence. I get that part. 7. Now that I have had time to go over things thoroughly, I noticed the disability insurance that was added in, and driving up my loan payment. So, I called to find out about getting it removed. 8. I was informed that because my loan was just over 30 days old, they could no longer remove the disability insurance for the loan. They can remove it, but I will still pay for it. WHAT??? So, someone gets to pocket $6k if I remove the insurance? What kind of bank is this? 9. I explained to SunMark that I do understand their position. However, I already have another bank willing to refinance it at the same rate, without the insurance added, and will lower my payment. 10. Sunmark told me . . they can't help me. And So, I will now move forward with First New York FCU, who has offered to help me out. 12. Simple Math: Sunmark rather LOSE over $16k in interest on a $50k loan, than to remove the dumb insurance that I never asked for to begin with. And have no use for. 13. Looks like they prefer to lose money than to do the right thing. Lastly - Sunmark gave me a chance when my credit was low. That's the two stars. Maybe they can help you. But if you do go with Sunmark, read your loan papers with a microscope. Don't get swamboozled with their verbal agreements. READ THE FINE PRINT. BYE BYE SUNMARK.

I agree with a lot of other comments. Sunmark used to be very good. I was able to call the branch…read moreand actually speak to someone. Not anymore. I can't even get a response via email. Was sitting at a dealer looking to get rates to purchase a vehicle and was told someone would call me back within 48 hours or just fill out the app on line. Lousy attitude is all I got. Customer service is gone from Sunmark. I am looking elsewhere to switch all my accounts.

Things started going downhill when they moved to the Winners Circle location. It was almost like…read morethey'd become too big to be the polite and helpful credit union they'd always been. It only got worse with the merger. I will say that I've always had good experiences, even now, with tellers, but anyone else? Nope. Rude, short attention span, and take the first opportunity to get out of the conversation. Case in point. I went there to talk to someone about a loan. I went to the "service desk" which always used to be helpful. The woman first told me she didn't know what I was asking about, then told me I couldn't see them, then contacted the loan officer how said they would not come down to see me. I insisted and they eventually came down, only to be rude, not answer my question and tell me to call next time. This is a place I used to rave about. Not anymore. To use a silly old saying, "They've gotten to big for their breeches." And people leaving reviews, it is Credit Union, NOT a Bank.

Since the merge with the two credit unions Ive had nothing but issues with my accounts. Fraud…read moreissues, etc. The last one was I disputed a charge on my visa. After calling and telling them I can see the withdraw pending and to please stop it they said it has to go through completely. I can't understand why they couldn't block it right there. So as requested I filled out multiple forms and received a response saying I have to print out the forms and fax them over or mail them! so many forms We are retired, who has a fax machine in their house and if they received the paperwork why don't they print it out I have to find another credit union

I have had car loans, personal loans, business loans, savings accounts, and checking accounts at Mohawk Progressive. They have great rates and no fee checking accounts as well as online banking. MPFCU is a small credit union where the member really does come first. They may not have all the latest techno services of the larger banks but they got it where it counts- and that's customer service. I remember a couple years ago my iTunes account was hacked and the thief started making several hundred dollar purchases over and over again to his fake account on iTunes that ended up totaling over $3000 dollars. Carole called me and alerted me to the activity and put a stop payment on my account before calling me. She knows me well enough to know I didn't make those purchases. That isn't the only time MPFCU has saved my skin. They have also called me to alert me a payment was clearing when I had insufficient funds in my account (Hey it happens to the beat of us) just so I could add money in time to avoid any fees or penalties. Carole and her member service reps will do the same for you. I will continue banking there for as long as I am around and you should too!

I have only left excellent reviews until I dealt with this greedy bank who seems to think they can…read moremake their own rules, take our huge sums of money and then be super rude and refuse to case their own checks or put any thought into how to fix the issue and take care of the customer. They are arrogant and I personally do not bank with KB(thank god), I have always banked with credit unions, but a family member does hold accounts and investments with Key Bank and they have been excellent customers for 30+ years and you would think Key Bank management would treat someone cashing a check on their behalf with some respect. First, they charge a $7.50 fee to cash a check if you're not a customer (IF they do have enough cash on hand to cash a check, they could not cash my check $20k check but regardless this is a complete racket). I recommend if you bank with Key Bank now to look into local credit unions such as Adirondack Trust, SEFCU or any local credit union. They all offer better rates, better accounts, excellent customer service and more local branches. They also don't nickel and dime your friends or employees who may need to cash a check by charging them a $7.50 fee to cash a check, I can only image what other small fees are in Key Banks small print. Stay away from Key Bank-just awful! I don't see any good reviews on this greedy and harsh bank so I can only assume others deal with this and they need to know there are SO MANY other wonderful banks that would love your business and trust you right. #leavekeybank
