I kept calling because I truly believe that the customer service rep is either knowledgeable or not and I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I kept getting those who couldn't help with such a simple request. Today I had time to go into the bank as a couple had suggested, which is such a crazy request, you really can't help me over the phone with an online request or ask someone else and then show me if you don't know? I went in and was super frustrated asking the teller to see a representative and explaining all over again. Stephanie Motill was willing to see me without an appointment and listened to my request that I was surely explaining poorly due to my frustration. She listened and actually heard me and helped me through the process on my phone, omygosh what a relief SO SIMPLE. I knew it had to be but she was willing to help me without an appointment due probably to my frustration trying to explain to the teller. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would gladly make an appointment in the future if needed and request Stephanie, what a blessing she is. Chase is lucky to have her because their customer service line is fair at best, they should work on that ...

I said, I want you to be sure as I don't want my house payment to increase. He hummed and hawed. I decided to go to the Salem branch and make the payment. They new exactly what to do. Not so for the Albany Oregon branch. Now I want to pay on the principle of my home loan and will venture to another US branch than to try the Albany Oregon branch again.

What was suppose to be a relatively simple transaction turned out to be a complete nightmare that lasted close to 2 hours. My 85 year old mother who has difficulty walking entered the bank to get a cashier's check for $67,000. Very simple because I printed out exactly the way the check was to be written on an index card and that was handed to the teller. The teller did not follow instructions and screwed up the cashier's check. This started a chain of events that would end very badly and was made profoundly worse by the branch manager. My mom did not catch the error until she returned to the car. When she discovered the mistake which was 2 minutes later, she walked back into the bank and asked the teller to create a new instrument and was told that could not happen because it's a cashier's check. That is when I became involved to try and rectify the situation.. The teller could have simply redeposited the check and issued a new one as originally instructed. He instead told me it could not be done and reiterated what he told my mother. I vehemently told him he was wrong and he referred me to his manager. The lack of knowledge in banking regulations exasperated the mistake to a point of elderly abuse for keeping my mother hostage for literally an hour and a 1/2 trying to correct a mistake that they made. I cannot go into too much more detail because I do plan on litigation as well as filng a complaint with the division of financial regulations of the state of Oregon. The teller eventually recognized his mistakes and was very apologetic, but the branch manager is so arrogant that he never even addressed my mother and refused to apologize to her even after I asked him to. I guarantee you he would never never ever in his life allow anyone and I mean anyone to treat his mother or grandmother in the manner that he treated my 85 year old mother!!! We use to park millions of dollars at this institution, but in the last decade have moved all funds to other banks for good reason.

CWCU lets us be more personable as ourselves with our members. I truly love our members. Being there for our communities has always been a personal passion of mine since I was a little girl. My goal is to feel as though we are family with the sincere ability to listen with ultimate loving care for each and everyone of our members. I literally could not ask for a better CC team along with our supervisors that are so personable, supportive, and completely by my side along with having the same hearts that I also carry.

A few years in and I had gotten married, I wanted to add my wife to the account but was told I couldn't because her credit at the time was not above 600. Spoiler alert, neither was mine. I shrugged it off and went elsewhere with my business. Fast forward to now and after years of barely making ends meet my wife and I decided to file for bankruptcy. I had a small loan (Less than $300) and that savings account that had $100/month deposited into to make payments on that account. I diligently paid off that loan until I filed for bankruptcy. After I filed I go to check my balance via their app and it tells me I have no account. Strange, ok well no problem. So I call them and they tell me my account is locked. I ask why and they say its because of the bankruptcy and they cannot tell me when I will get my access back. I ask them how I can check my balance and they tell me I have to physically go to the branch. Fine. So I go to the branch and hand them my bank card. Apparently they shut off my bank card as well. I give them my info and provide them my security code. They then have to call "corporate" to get authorization to access my account. I am then told that my account access will be locked until such time the bankruptcy ends. It's gonna be 5 years before I can access the account?! How does this even make sense! I'm still not quite sure why my ability to see my account has been taken away. What does that even accomplish? Prior to the bankruptcy, my account was not in arrears and the loan I had was paid up. After talking it over with the teller I told her after the next month I will likely change my direct deposit and be closing the account then because it doesn't make sense for me to have an account that can't even check the balance on. She advised me that if I did that, they might put me in check systems! So now I am stuck with an account I cannot access. I admit that I have had financial issues and I take responsibility for that but this account was one of the few that I took care of and it feels like they are punishing me. For reference, I had another account with a bank that was in much worse shape and no only did the bank reverse everything once they were notified of the bankruptcy but I never once lost account access. I like this CU and appreciate all they have done for me over the years but I feel like they don't really wanna help people and are just there to cater to folks who have perfect credit.
