Bank of America Financial Center - The line constantly at Bank Of America on Otis in Alameda!

She said she can't take any digital method to verify me and I could use the ATM.. As I left, redirecting myself to the ATM, there was a line of 10 people, no one greeting customers to triage folk and she was still the only teller. I only come here in person 1-2x a year and definitely make a point to go during off hours. I like how they have an ATM within the branch, security at the door and generally service has been great here. The policies and queues are questionable!

1 STAR -- Unacceptable Handling of My Money I am extremely…read moredisappointed with how Bank of America has handled the closing of my checking account and, more importantly, my money. The bank closed/restricted my account while approximately $1,100 of my money remained in checking. On top of that, a $300 payroll deposit from my wages was sent to the account, and I still do not have a clear answer as to where that money is or when I will receive it. I was originally told that my account would not be officially closed until September 28, 2026. That is completely unacceptable. Customers have bills, rent, food, transportation, and other expenses. A bank should not be able to hold someone's available funds for weeks while providing vague answers about when those funds will actually be returned. After calling again, another representative told me the closing date had been changed to today and instructed me to call back tomorrow to find out whether the account was actually closed. I was then told that once the account closes, my remaining balance will be mailed to me and could take another 7-10 business days to arrive. So after losing access to my own money, I'm expected to wait even longer for a check to arrive in the mail. At this point, I want the account closed and my money returned immediately. I should not have to repeatedly call customer service just to find out when I will regain access to money that belongs to me, including wages I earned. This experience has completely destroyed my confidence in Bank of America. The lack of urgency, inconsistent information, and inability to provide timely access to my funds is unacceptable. One star is generous.

Wells Fargo Alameda: where "your wire will go out today" confirmed by MANAGER expires while you're…read morestill sitting at the desk. -------------------- I had an extremely frustrating experience at the Wells Fargo Alameda branch while attempting to send a time-sensitive international wire. I arrived around noon and spoke with Branch Manager Ruby Falcon, who scheduled a 2:00 p.m. appointment for me. I explicitly explained that the wire was international and needed to go out that day. She assured me that the cutoff was 3:00 p.m. and that there would be enough time. I returned at 1:50 p.m. and waited for banker Zelaikha Naderi. She struggled to find the phone number for the TFS department and asked another employee, who was already busy, for assistance. By 2:40 p.m., there had been little progress. Ruby was called back from her break and arrived around 2:45 p.m. She reached TFS within a minute and again assured me that the international wire could go out that day. Zelaikha then began completing the form, requiring further assistance from another employee. The process was not completed until approximately 3:15 p.m. At that point, Ruby told me that the wire could not go out that day, stating that international wires do not go out the same day. This directly contradicted the assurances she had given me twice. I spent nearly an hour and a half at the branch after returning for my appointment, only to discover that the requirement I had clearly communicated at noon would not be met. Had I received accurate information during my initial visit, I could have explored other options. The delays, lack of preparation, and contradictory information from the branch manager were unacceptable. Customers should be able to rely on bank employees to explain wire procedures and deadlines accurately, especially when a transaction is time-sensitive. I am requesting a written explanation of what happened, clarification of the applicable international wire cutoff and processing times, and the specific steps this branch will take to prevent similar experiences for other customers.

I looked at the reviews from good to bad and truly understand why they were rated that way. I went…read moreto this branch today and as I walked in the door it seemed very impersonal unlike larger banks like Wells Fargo that greets you immediately. I was greeted by Tom, home mortgage, who stated that someone would be with me. There was only one person, Traci Aguon, available for new accounts. She was on the phone heavily engaged in straightening out some business for the bank. As I sat on the couch awaiting to be serviced another employee, Ida came in walked passed me and never acknowledged my presence. She sat at her desk a few feet away from Traci and never looked around. How rude! Someone else came in the bank and just wondered around then she acknowledged him, I can't say race played a part or just ignorance. Ida began helping him. At which time Traci got off the phone and asked how she could help. She indicated Ida was the person to assist me and I informed her that I chose not to do business with Ida due to her behavior. Despite the fact that Traci had a lot of work to do and catch up on which she told me when I asked she put on her professional hat and began assisting me. She appeared initially overwhelmed but after a while things loosened up and we ended up just chatting and laughing. What started as cold and impersonal ended up in being a good experience. I stayed because of her and rated this branch because of her. I couldn't give it a five because there is still room for improvement at this branch. If you are looking for something different in a banking experience try this branch but don't necessarily expect a lot of fluff, people and gimmicks. While customer service is key to me, how a company recovers from a bad experience like my engagement with Traci says a lot to me. More to come as I begin to use their tools and services. Check back later.

No one come over to ask or assist us, one person was helping with a customer. The other two were in the office , but the office was made from glass see through. When the banker finished with the customer. she walked the customer out, she did not even ask to see if I needed help . Then I ask her can I get help. She then stated, I'll help you in a little bit. So we wait, until one of the Asian bank teller came to out from the window, she came over to ask have I been help or what do I need help with. I tell her I am waiting to get help, and I pointed at the banker personal that said she'll help in a bit, she is finishing up some note. The Asian bank teller said am I waiting for her or can someone else can help. I am not waiting for a particular person, I just need help with maturity CD account. So therefore the guy helps me. The weather is hot, I have cancer so I can't really sit that long. Personally I think they didn't not want to serve me because I speak Vietnamese with my brother, so either because of my race or because they think I don't have money. I feel sorry for this branch, they are driving customers away. Honestly I will not come to this branch to get help with my account. The only thing I will ever come is just use ATM or withdraw money from teller. I would not recommend anyone to come to this branch, if you need help with your bank account GO to ANOTHER branch!

As I walk away after I finished my transaction, I can clearly hear them talk about me still as they mentioned my last name. They were loud enough for me to hear them from across the bank. Like how are you gonna laugh about my account and last name when your name is Edgar.
