Stepping inside felt like hitting the jackpot of gas stations. The smell of hot coffee and those addictive cinnamon pretzels hit me right in the face. One side of the store had energy drinks stacked like a neon shrine; the other had more snacks than a movie theater. I grabbed a beef jerky stick longer than my arm and a Diet Coke the size of a toddler. The bathrooms? Surprisingly clean. Like, "I can actually touch the sink without flinching" clean. Someone was mopping while I was in there--an actual human who looked like they cared. It was beautiful. Back at the pump, I used the app like some kind of futuristic fuel wizard. Touchless payment, reward points, the whole deal. Filled up, stocked up, cleaned up--and rolled out feeling like I had just hit the gas station version of a spa.

My senior citizen handicap mother went in here to use the restroom. The staff decided to constantly harass her by knocking on the door and asking what she was doing in there. Their behavior was beyond threatening. When she got out of the restroom the manager told her the one restroom has a five minute limit. No signs. Some made up rule. There is an interstate that runs close to here and somehow this place manages to survive. The staff is a joke and have no patience. They put up slogan signs about community and when it comes down to it they want your money like every other business. Basic customer service and empathy for all people goes a long way. The staff seems to just show that to the town neighbors who put nice reviews on the yelp page. Keep driving.

There used to be one at Highway 27 and Albion Road in Etobicoke that I passed by often. It has since changed over to a Shell station. I loved being at the gas station with an incredible store. I wouldn't even say that it was a convenience store. It was far better! I have never seen so many hot dog varieties in my life, including a limited Nashville hot variety. The iced tea varieties were also cool. I appreciated an unsweetened version. You also had sweet and citrus. I do enjoy looking at beverages. I was happy to see Arizona and Snapple drinks. There was also beer. The phone accessories and electronics were amazing. I picked up a USB C cable that splits such that you can listen to audio on one side and continue charging your device with the other side. As convenient as it is these days to have wireless earbuds, when they lose their charge, you lose your audio. Especially when I'm travelling, I'd rather have this setup with corded earbuds and a means to charge your phone when your phone does not have a headphone jack. It was a nerdy find, but such a cool one. You can also choose from a wide assortment of CB radios. It was great looking at them, as it was all new to me. I also invaded the pork rinds section. I picked up a bag of chili lime ones, which I snacked on right up until I boarded my plane from Detroit to Toronto. They were delicious. Thanks, Turkey Creek! The man at the counter was nice. I paid for my items with a credit card. All went well. He asked me if I needed a bag. Nope, I was okay without one. I thanked him and left with my purchases. I enjoyed my brief visit.
