Even for someone who's outdoor-venue-averse, Ameris Bank Amphitheatre was a delightful place to see…read morea great show. I decided to see Hayley Williams only a few days before the show. Ameris is about a four-hour drive from Nashville, so it meant an overnight trip, and I wanted to be sure I'd be comfortable. The forecast called for rain and record heat, and I'm still recovering from a foot injury that makes long stretches of standing dicey. So on top of my pit ticket, I bought a cheap seat in Section 105 as a fallback. You have to buy parking, since there are no options outside the venue. Standard parking usually runs around $10. I upgraded to $35 VIP parking, and it was well worth it for getting in and out. The VIP lot is a little hard to find because Google Maps sends you to the rideshare drop-off, but plenty of staff pointed me the right way. I arrived about 30 minutes before the headliner to limit my time in the heat, and a brief downpour during the openers had already cooled things off considerably. Ameris is about 45 minutes from Atlanta and having read lots of reviews, I'd braced for traffic, but there was no wait. It helped that I was coming from a hotel that was 5 minutes away, but even once near the venue I had no issue with a long line of cars to get into parking, as I had feared. Super close parking within VIP was still available, and it took me under 10 minutes to get through security, get my ticket checked, and walk to the far side of the venue for pit entry. Seating in Orchestra is a mix of plush folding chairs and stadium-style plastic seats, tiered so the view is good from anywhere in the orchestra section. I checked out my orchestra seat at the start of the show, but never ended up needing to use it. Pit attendees get a dedicated wristband that's scanned at the pit entrance. For this show, everyone in the pit had to pour drinks into plastic cups for the artist's safety. The pit is close to the bathrooms and to free water refill stations, and you can bring your own bottle or cup (huge plus in these record temps!) Ceiling fans under the roof overhang kept a breeze going, a godsend in that humidity. I like to stand near the back, and even at a sold-out show I had plenty of room. Any spot in the pit is a great view. When I needed to sit for a bit, there were benches just outside the pit near concessions that were much easier to get to instead of my orchestra seat. Concessions were cheaper than at Nashville shows: $3 for a Liquid Death tallboy. Bathrooms were hot and a little worse for wear, but still had soap and toilet paper at the end of the night. I stayed through the last song of the encore and was out of the lot in under 10 minutes, felt incredible to get back so quickly! Staff really helped things along directing traffic, etc. The surrounding area is safe and cute, prices are reasonable, and the staff were genuinely helpful in keeping the show and crowd manageable, rather than on a power trip like I've seen at other venues. It was absolutely worth making a weekend of it. Would come back in a heartbeat!

The drinks aren't bad and the food is edible. I haven't eaten here enough to be able to judge this though. The pretzel is yummo. These things are just SO expensive. (See menu) they do allow each person to bring in an unopened liter of water or a n empty water bottle (aluminum or plastic). They have feee yeti water filling stations and the water is ice cold. I love that they keep asking patrons for suggestions and actually make changes. The lawn has a reserved seating area for a super small upcharge to a comfy Adirondack chair and they've added a VIP area for the lawn. I have only sat in the lawn once and the chairs are way worth it. I really don't think there's a bad seat in the house but I'm usually up front. I have sat in some box seats and in Section 103 Row C and all great seats. You'll see after shows you may receive some concert cash in email that you can use for future purchases, and they always have great summer deals like 2 tickets for $55 or 4 for $99. Love this venue!

We came in for a children's show on Saturday afternoon. We've been tracking for a couple weeks…read moretrying to decide which weekend to make the drive out for a show; it's about an hour from our home. The Saturday showtimes seem to be 10am and 1:30pm. We were aiming for a puppet show last weekend but landed on a science show this weekend and I'm so glad we did! We got to see "Noreen the Science Queen" and engage in a live show with her. Not only was she amazing, but it was so wonderful to expose our girls to a woman in STEM and, more special for them, a Black woman in STEM. After the show, Noreen the Science Queen greeted the attendees in the lobby. She was open for pictures, and was selling both science kits for at home experiments and copies of her book. She is also available for birthday parties!! Now about the Cultural Arts Center, they currently have two exhibits: (1) there is an art show in the lobby in honor of Juneteenth and visitors get to vote on their favorite three (2) there is an exhibit of toys and games from the 1800s on the second floor. We didn't go up to check it out.

Wifey and I went to the Dancing Goat to see one of her friends perform in "Almost, Maine"...a play…read morethat consisted of about a dozen vignettes on all aspects of "love." The play was quite well done and we enjoyed it immensely. Obviously, some of the vignettes were preferred over others, but all were done in the great spirit of Community Theater...and made for a very enjoyable Saturday evening "date night." The Theatre itself is a small, community one...and perfect for this type of play where the focus is definitely on the actors themselves and the interactions...bigger, broader ones may not fit in this relatively small place. I highly recommend...we will go back...wifey got the brochure of upcoming events...looking forward to a couple of them.

We just completed our third trip with AWP. This one to LA! My son takes classes at AWP and they…read morehave been an instrumental part to his learning of the acting world. AWP has allowed him opportunities to meet with industry professionals, especially on trips like this. They also provide workshops to learn more about the acting world to help him be successful. We especially love the relationships and friendships he builds with the other people in the group. The directors of the studio- Lynn and Don- have created such a positive, encouraging, and uplifting space. One where everyone feels safe, comfortable, and welcome. It's truly a beautiful thing! Off Broadway is a small facility in a strip mall but my kids have really enjoyed their time there…read more They have taken dance, improv comedy, and musical theater classes and have participated in numerous productions in the black box theater. The musicals are surprisingly good!! Very entertaining, clever costumes, and some of the kids are amazing! BUT... What I like the most is that the moms and faculty are VERY welcoming. It's fun for parents to get involved with costumes and makeup for the shows. I never feel out of place and I have yet to meet a parent (or child) at Off Broadway who is not kind. We have tried other area dance and acting studios and the competition is fierce. You can see the kids size each other up! I don't want dance moms drama! We will stick with Off Broadway because it's PERFECT for toddlers through young teens. My kids and I have made some great friends there.

Last time we were there the air conditioning was out and even the musicians had a problem with the no air issues on stage. People were using the menus to fan themselves. Surprised they had the performance. This use to be a great place to go on a Saturday night Hopefully they can work out the kinks in this long playin Alpharetta music club.
