We had an absolute blast. It was way more fun than I was anticipating. The ringleaders did an amazing job of keeping everyone engaged, and made it fun for all ages. I highly recommend checking it out. Things to note: Parking right across the street is $20, and be prepared to pay $3 for water, $10 for popcorn and cotton candy, $8 for nachos, wings, or funnel cake.

This was my first time at a Universoul Circus show and I was truly impressed. I bought tickets online a few days in advance at $60 a piece for floor level seating. Day of parking was simple, check in was quick, and seating was easy and self explanatory. The show started right on time, lasted about 2.5hrs, and kept our attention from beginning to end. I personally prefer the closer seats that we had but there wasn't really a bad seat in the tent as some of the acts come into the stands from time to time to interact with the audience members who are seated farther back. There were no animals used whatsoever during the show, just amazing stunts, acrobatic performances, and dances performed by a group of talented diverse individuals from around the world! There were snacks offered for purchase during the show but no real food. The prices were what you'd expect at a circus($10 cotton candy, $4 water, $10 popcorn, etc). The Universoul Circus comes to Atlanta a couple of times per year at different locations (Gwinnett, Atlantic Station, and the old Turner Field lot). I'll definitely be going again!

Well if you're looking for entertainment and crowd interaction this is your circus! Packed with visual effects, music, dancing, and amazing performers this is by far my favorite. My kids enjoy UniverSoul over the others because it's a "soul" circus. Not just for African Americans but all ethnicities with performers from all over the world! It kept us on our toes. Now note this is not a circus of many exotic animals from around the world. So if this is what you're looking for this isn't it. However, the prices for the souvenirs and snacks are reasonable and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Love, love, love it!!!

I am a long time customer of the Universoul Circus. I've bought my kids to this circus, and now I bought my grandkids. I have to say I was disappointed... The performers in the show were good. Though they shortened the show a little. The worst part for me was at the end my family and I wanted to take pictures. On the way out (outside the performance tent) ppl were aggressively pushed out by security. I used the porta-potty and when I came out, I noticed many guards surrounding ppl who were washing their hands. They jokingly said, "yah got to hurry up!" There are one hr intervals between shows, so I understand there's a clean up time.. Though we weren't in the area where anyone performed. We weren't able to take pictures without being hassled. Even to the point as we were walking out the the manager haggled me. When I said, "you shouldn't be so aggressive with the customers." He sarcastically said, "Oh well give us a bad review!" I challenged him to that and took his picture. This was all in a matter of 10 minutes, at the end of the show. The stadium was half empty, so the energy wasn't the same as before. Then with being pushed out for doing normal things ppl do after a show was ridiculous. I truly hope they get their customer service and time management in order. There's a more civil way to treat customers!

Everything circus should be- Big, loud, shiny, crazy, wild, loud, exciting and sugar available at every turn. It is a little bit of Shriners show meets Baptist revival tent, but I didn't see any snakes or tiny cars, and when the horse act ended my five year old daughter screamed "that was AMAZING!" Which, I think, is a pretty good review. Oh, and I can't think of anything I enjoy more than licking the last bit of funnel cake sugar off my fingers as the lights go down, the music goes up and the ringmaster yells, "when I say Big Top, say Circus... BIG TOP...." CIRCUS!!!!!!!

Hadn't been to the UniverSoul Cicus in some years, so I was excited when a friend invited and treated my son and I. We attended at the National Harbor Plateau in Oxon Hill, MD. Things that I love about this circus: 1. It's geared towards and supports minority cultures with an emphasis on black culture. Let's face it - the way we view entertainment is unique and this circus brings the experience that most African Americans find enjoyable. 2. The talent is good. Lots of dancing and acrobatics, all of which are good. 3. Animals are always a hit at a circus - puppy show was super cute! 4. The dirt bike stunt show was pretty freakin awesome. 5. Crowd interaction is super cool and can be pretty hilarious. Loved how they let the crowd participate in a lot of the activities. 6. The kids pledge at the end - loved it! Given the recent events in the country with race relations, I thought it was excellent to express that everyone is unique and that they need to grow up accepting people for who they are. Basically, love one another. So good! 7. Really cool magic tricks! Things that can be improved upon: 1. Nickel and diming - charges for everything....high charges. Thank God my son is only 1 so he doesn't need all of the junk. 2. The photo ops during the show are a little annoying. Cool experience, but dude, you're walking over me taking pictures during the show. 3. A lot of gyrating. Again, glad my son is so young, but I'm not sure what I'll do when he gets older. There's a ton of booty shaking going on that won't be conducive to how we want to teach him to behave as a young man, but that's on me to teach him, not necessarily the circus. 4. Maybe it's for protection but the tigers were only flashed in a cage for 2 seconds and then rolled away. It's possible that recent accidents with children and animals have prevented them from being more involved in the show, but of course I don't know that for sure. Great show - will definitely return when he's older!

Shericia R.

This is one of the best circuses in my opinion. I love it because it's so diverse and each experience is different. There were performers from the USA, Trinidad and Tobago, Chile, Columbia, South Africa, Mongolia, Mexico and other places. The host was energetic throughout and kept the kids engaged. The show features dances, acrobatics, a poodle show, horses, elephants, a motorcycle show, and a host of other activities. It's family friendly fun, but it's not your typical circus. Also, compared to a lot of other circuses, the tickets are cheaper and so are the toys for the kids

Candice B.

My children enjoyed this circus so much. I came for the vibe and the music and the laughter. My husband and I were laughing till we were crying at the new school vs. Old school dance off. The clowns really turn the spot up, the acrobats are insane, the motorcycle trick.... let's just say everyone needs to see that once and again. I will Def be back for that! !! Again the music is what this circus is all about and the dancers bring it! We will be back next year!!

Is it cold under the tent?

Yes and they hit the elephants with bullhooks.

Is it very loud inside the tents?

Is it cold inside tent?

I didn't think so, it's fully enclosed so the cold air outside doesn't seem to seep in

I loved the layout of the theater, where it seemed like all seats were good seats. They had both floor tickets where it was standing room and then seating that looked kind of like colosseum or stadium seating. Although they had this seating, the place still felt intimate and really added to the ambiance of the concert. I also loved the layout of the lobby area where there were different entry points and a good space for the vendors to sell tour merch and several areas where they had mirrors that gave great photo ops or an area to check your outfit. As someone who has acted before, I can say the issues we experienced were more on the production company than the venue itself. The main problem? Smoke. So much smoke. It was hard to breathe, my eyes were watering, and I'm a pretty tough guy--but my fiancée was really suffering. When I called to request a refund, I learned it wasn't just us. If you're going to use a fog machine, you need to disclose it ahead of time, especially for children, people with respiratory issues, or anyone sensitive to it. On top of that, there was a child crying during the performance. Instead of quietly and discreetly taking them outside, staff tried to address it in the middle of the show, which was distracting for everyone. That said, I do want to thank the venue for working with us to get a refund. The space itself is nice, and I'm open to returning for other productions in the future. Just a heads-up--the seating is very intimate, so be prepared to be close to your neighbors.

It's great that this piece of history will continue on as it has for the past almost 100 years! I'm so glad I got tickets to see a performance here because the experience was great. I definitely will have to keep my eye out for other shows to catch. Surprisingly, security was fast. It took me maybe a minute to get through and scan my ticket. Staff was friendly and really helpful. They check tickets for seats before directing you to another member that will guide you to your seat. My friend and I came to see Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and it was amazing! I believe they stopped by Atlanta last year, and I'm glad that they returned. According to the program, each day had some differences as to what was performed, and I considered going again just to see the other dances. Cons: -The Box Office staff is super slow and there are no line markers to separate Box Office/Will Call from the window for Season Ticket holders. -On the Orchestra floor, the sound quality is hit or miss depending on where you sit. Tip: Avoid double letters on the left and right if you can. - Exiting the theater through side doors can be super dangerous at night. The stairs are step and lighting is limited They should have a sign to warn seniors. Many of them were having difficulty getting down.

ECHO seemed more back to basics -- less gimmicks. The big change was that wee sat on the second row. The performers were literally near enough to touch. Wow. The show is great. The acts: jugglers, acrobats, gymnasts, slack line artists, clowns, catapult jumpers, trapeze artists, you name it -- are absolutely wonderful. A sense of wonderment comes over you as if you are a child again. The sound system is terrific and the live musicians and vocalists are impressive. The seats are a bit tight but perfectly fine for the duration of the show. Food is of course expensive as are all of the momentos for purchase. But you're at the most fabulous circus you've ever seen. My only complaint -- and it's out of the control of Cirque -- is exiting the Atlantic Station parking garage. Very slow. The stations to pay the parking fees didn't work so people had to pay one at a time at the actual exit. Miami, ECHO opens there February 22. Don't miss it.

We arrived around 2:30 and was there until 9:00 pm for the taping of 2 shows. Not even a cracker was provided to eat! Cheap, ghetto and classless is what I call it! There is not even a vending machine. I never saw on any correspondence that taping would be that long and nothing to snack on available. Tyler Perry, Steve Harvey and Family Feud bring in toooo much money for not even a small pack of peanut butter crackers, a granola bar or even a 25 cent bag of chips to be served!!! I was totally disgusted and turned off by this because although it was a free taping----you wouldn't be able to do it without a live audience!! A little bit of appreciation for 7-8 hours of your time would have been nice. The staff seemed mean, over worked and underpaid. No smiles other than the production manager who had a curly natural fro ponytail. There was a heavyset black guy with a black winter beanie cap on that told my daughter the Smart Pop popcorn was for people who were there all day.! Well wtf do you call 2-9pm. Then to make matters worst, the staff and family members of the contestants are hot lunches in our faces. It was so classless! Steve Harvey and the hype man were so cool though and really provide for lots of laughs. Steve even left us on a spiritual note. He is definitely a natural comedian and speaker. Now that was a 5 star experience! Just Steve, hypeman, music, and the show itself 5 stars! The production company and the professionalism and hospitality of this place is a 3 and that's being nice. Overall, moving forward I would not recommend spending your precious off day setting around starving all day to see the show. I'll just watch from home but should you happen to read my review and go------ Eat a heavy meal before hand bc these cheap ass folks will not even provide a saltine cracker. If times are that hard they should just stop taping. I went to a few live taping and they at least provide light snacks via vending machine or free lay out. I came here with my best friends to celebrate my birthday, my friend's birthday, my other friends newly published devotional and my other friend's promotion at work. This was probably my 4th time here. Parking is behind the building and they have a ton of spots with gravel parking and paved (directions might lead you to the front). The lobby has two rooms, with comfy seating, restrooms, bar (beer and wine), ticket area and a place to take group photos. Things have changed on seating here due to Covid but for the better. You can now buy a table for two, table for 4 and VIP seating. Cost ranges from $70-$90, but comes out to about $20-$45/person. Any table purchase you make comes with all the tickets. Most shows are about an hour and a half long, with one intermission for you to use the bathroom or grab drinks. A majority of the improv depends on participation from the audience, so be ready to give direction on what the skit will be like. One of the best portions of the show was when my friend Keni got asked about her Hot Air Balloon she did recently, and the Improv Actors did a "fortunately, unfortunately" sketch on it. One of the funniest things I've seen. It's always a great time when you go, and you're going to get something fairly new and unexpected every time. Some actors are much more entertaining too, as they can create comedy out of thin air. They also hold Improv classes for adults and work with children too (the host mentioned something Nickelodeon themed). Highly recommend! This was purely a friends outing, but this spot is perfect for dates too or any type of celebration.
