Loved loved loved Cirque Du Soleil. It was funny, eye catching, heartfelt and mesmerizing. The views were great no matter where u sat. I couldn't stop watching it. I'm saddened at this time hearing that one of the stunt artists who had been with the group for 15 years has passed away due to his hand slipping on the rings. That is so unfortunate. I thoroughly enjoyed this show! The performers were on point with their acrobatics. The BMX bikes at the end put X-gamers to shame! Parking is $20 and it's quite chaotic. We drove in to the lot and there were so many cones and far too many people with lights to move traffic. Cash is preferred but they do have the option to take a card using a smart phone plugin of some sort. Plan ahead and give yourself at least 30 minutes to park and then walk to the tent; only VIPs get to park nearby. The general seating is tight. You definitely don't have any personal space. BUT for those of you worried about it, concierge was offering seat upgrades for very minimal costs. We were able to upgrade to premium seating, with much more padding, arm rests, a cup holder, and probably a couple extra inches of space, for only $20 more per person. They offer concessions and accept credit cards or cash. The concessions are ridiculously overpriced but they do have a couple combos to save you money. Please be respectful of the rules: no flash photography; not only is it dangerous to distract the performers but it's also annoying to patrons watching the show. Don't be rude. read more

Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by the show. I'm not sure if the high price plus additional parking charges and random in a parking lot tent that was a half mile from the lot to get into or the so-so acts (not talent, because there were some awe-inspiring acts)... But I was not impressed with this show as I have been with other cirque or cirque-type shows. The tent was cool, I love the look of it. But being in a bare parking lot takes away from the fun factor - that could have been dressed up a bit. The show itself was not cohesive in story. There were definitely some interesting things going on, but found myself underwhelmed. I am glad Tampa was on the tour, I'm glad we can bring shows to this city and hopefully more arts and cultural events are brought here, as I love the arts. In the future, I think I would steer clear of the mobile shows/tours. read more

Great show tonight! This is the traveling version of Cirque Du Soleil. If you have never seen one of these, it is a combination of circus and theater. There is music, singing and dancing--combined with thrilling stunts and acrobatics. Some of the stunts are traditional circus stuff, like trapeze or high wire walking. Others are more unique, like this year's big addition: BMX bike stunts. Wow! There is an underlying "story" that I understood pieces of, but it really doesn't matter. I love the circus entertainment aspects with some comedy mixed in. Although this is in a "tent," it is very nice. The A/C works great and the bathrooms are portable, but the nicest portable restrooms I've seen. I should say that we got our tickets from Yelp as part of a promotion. However, when we arrived, the signs offered "seat upgrades" for a nominal cost. We opted to do this for $15 per ticket and landed seats in the center of the front section, just 7 rows back. Not only was the location good, but the VIP section seats are padded and have a bit more room. If you can get into this section for a reasonable cost, I highly recommend it. Went to Friday 8 pm show under the big tent at the greyhound race track. Good view from most seats. The show was about 2 hours with a 25 minute intermission. The performers were fantastic. Tumbling, high wire tightrope, bicycle stunts, comedy, dancing, and a amazing women who danced In the air with a wire supported by only her scalp. Parking was well organized, but I was disappointed by the $20 fee for about 3 hours. We are not at Universal Studios. Another disappointment were the prices of drinks and snacks. They were also unreasonable. $9 for popcorn. $12 for a bottle of domestic beer. All told it is a show not to be missed. read more

These show tickets were a birthday gift to me and my very first ever Cirque Du Soleil show. I have wanted to go to one of these shows for years! It did not disappoint! It was on the edge of your seat exciting from beginning to end! My husband & I had our jaw open much of the evening. The amount of talented individuals is just incredible. The show is as if a circus & broadway combined. There was a storyline that I totally didn't follow. I don't think it was even needed. It didn't matter because the show was absolutely incredible! There was also some comedy mixed in the show. We didn't have any problems parking as others have stated. We actually found it quite easy. We found parking to be extremely organized with people directing you. We parked and walked the short walk over to the tent. Although , it did cost $20 to park. We also didn't run out early for fear of traffic. We left after the show and walked to our car. The only problem we encountered was on the main road once you left the parking lot. People were u-turning all over the place to get to the highway. I think they should've had some traffic cops on that road directing cars. The tent was beautiful, all the colors, lighting and costumes were all beautiful! There was one round stage in the middle and I think wherever you were seated would be a good view. They did offer upgraded seats for a fee. I had amazing seats and we got really lucky. The entire row was empty next to me and behind us. I just moved over a seat and we had plenty of room. My only complaint would be the unreasonable prices for parking,drinks and snacks! Everything is extremely overpriced!!! People are already paying High ticket prices to see the show and I think the other fees could be more reasonably priced!! $20 to park for a 2 hour show is a bit much! First and foremost I want to thank Yelp for the tickets! I've always wanted to go to Cirque Du Soleil, and it definitely lived up to its expectations. My jaw was on the floor the entire show. So much talent! Highly recommend. The tent was very cozy and you could see the stage from all sides. We lucked out and had a full row to ourselves, but if you end up sitting next to someone, get ready for a tight squeeze. As for the drinks, I had the most expensive cup of Woodbridge wine in my life. If you don't know, a bottle of that wine is roughly $8 to $10. I paid $12 for the cup. But it was all about the experience, so treat yoself. My friend had a mixed drink and we both agreed that people should just stick to beer or wine since you can't water them down. Parking was a breeze and we were in and out no problem. $20. Also, don't be afraid of the elegant Porta potties, they're actually not too shabby! ;) read more

Great show truly enjoyable with tons of acrobatic twirls. Every seat was a good seat. However, air conditioner was strong so bring a sweater. We had heard parking was an issue so we got here an hour early and found it to be an organized process. Bring cash - $20.00 for parking is paid to the attendants as you pull into the lot. Wear comfortable shoes for the parking is across then behind the big shows tents. You will walk across the street then the full perimeter of the tents to get to the front entrance. We found the process smooth and orderly. There is handicap parking by the entrance area. You walk into the concession area and if you are hungry pretzels are $7 each, nacho and cheese is $12 and water bottle are $5. There is alcohol but a cup with wine is $12 and a vodka drink was pricey at $19. The popcorn is probably the best deal a bag at $12 but you get free refills. When the show was over all the concession areas including the souvenirs were also closed. The bathrooms are worth noting as they were real flushing toilets. Soap and water station was all working too. In the tent, the lighting, stage and music were excellent and very technologically dynamic. Overall, a really fun show and the BMX finale was thrilling. Wow wow wow! Amazing! I love all the Cirque Du Soliel shows but this one had some moments with me on the edge of my seat.... insane! I don't want to give away any details but these are incredibly talented people! Didn't notice any issues with sound or lighting throughout the performance. You can tell they rehearse it all to the second. This review is not based on the $20 parking fee, the portable bathrooms, or anything to that nature because I recognize that it is a traveling show so that would be unfair. The reason I'm knocking off 1 star for this is because I drank the most expensive Bud Light of my life at a whopping $12.00 a bottle. I've been to many shows, sporting events, concerts in my life and never have I ever paid that much for a Bud Light. So yeah, I'm knocking off one star for making it difficult for me to enjoy drinking a beer at the show, knowing how much eat sip set me back! The show however was great! I've seen many cirque shows over the last decade and this one did not disappoint. I really liked the story line behind it and for a travelling "under the big top" show, I thought the stage sets were done well. The entertainers are so talented and it's really fun to watch people do things that seem impossible to most. Everyone had lots of energy and there was quite a bit of audience interaction (at least more so than other shows I've seen), which got everyone hyped up and into the mood of the show. I would definitely recommend seeing Volta, whether it be your first cirque show or your 10th. read more

This was a ton of fun to watch human powered machines jump through hoops/rings at least 10 ft. high while doing perfect mid air acrobatic moves and landing smoothly on their feet. Also, another favorite was being mesermized by professional Japanese double dutch dancers with glow in the dark clothes move their feet rhythmically in such a fast manner to their dance routine that they turned into blurs! I really loved the soundtrack (M83) and live singing. I would listen to M83 on their own since they're already one of my favorite artists! The costumes and makeup definitely had a Hunger Games crossed with Running Man feel. I didn't want to cough up $20 (Thanks Yelp for tip!) for PARKING 2/5, since felt it was exhorbant and sneakily parked car at Save A Lot at own risk (Success: car didn't get towed or stolen!) and walked quarter mile to venue. CONCESSION 2/5: My hubs wanted to get a Double Vodka Tonic and it was a ridiculous $19 mediocre drink! Popcorn was $9, refilled twice ($4.50/bag), so if you break it down, you'll feel better about paying that much for it or at least that's what I tell myself. If you're not in mood to pay $5 for a bottle of water, there was a water station in some tent entrances. As others noted, concession is more than theater prices, but didn't deduct a star. I did love that we were so close to the stage to the point beads of sweat could've hit us and and continued to be in awe of these incredible athletes! There were a lot of other different PERFORMANCES 4/5 that were captivating and don't want to spoil! Thank you, Yelp, for the amazing tickets. Why 5 stars? Because I can't believe I waited until adulthood to become a Cirque fan. --- --- --- When I was younger, I'd heard of Cirque du Soleil, but had no idea what it was. I remember watching Knocked Up - the scene where Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd take mushrooms and go see a show in Vegas, and it just looked like something that wouldn't really be my jam. I guess I should have taken that scene with a grain of salt, considering it was shot from the perspective of people who are tripping on hallucinogenics. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to be given tickets to a show when it came through St. Pete. At the time, I remember not being super excited about it, but figured that I'd go because it was free and most of my nights consist of Netflix and chilling, hold the chilling. By the time I walked out of that show, I absolutely could not believe how much I loved it. How did it take me nearly 30 years to discover this amazingness?! Fast forward to present day: if I see a Cirque show in Tampa Bay, I'm going. And Volta was no exception. As is always the case, the acrobatic stuff is just so insane that it doesn't seem real. I just kept saying out loud, "well, that can't be safe." The talent level of these performers is ridiculous. How does a person learn how to do five flips and spins, while fitting through a tiny, octagon-shaped hula hoop on the fifth flip? How does one tolerate having a giant rope come down from 100 feet above, attached only to her hair, and have it spin her around hundreds of times in a few minutes? How do those guys do those things on their bikes without getting seriously injured? It's really amazing. And as amazing as it is, I think the comedic acts might be my favorite part of Cirque. They make me laugh so hard. And the guy in VOLTA was quite rangy with his skills. He played hype man, host, physical comedian and, um, an absolutely hilarious character toward the end of the show. The one negative from our experience was the parking situation. We visited on opening night, so I'm hoping that the situation is re-evaluated, but on 2/14, parking was extremely unorganized. I don't think that the roads here are set up for this many cars, but the folks directing traffic definitely did not seem to be very organized. My advice is to give yourself 20-30 minutes more than you think you'll need. And FYI, parking is $20. On the way out, my wife and I power-walked to our car and were able to exit very quickly, but I'm not sure about the rest of the masses. Again, this was such a great experience, as all Cirque shows have been for me. I'm so glad I became a fan, even if quite a few years later than I should have! read more

This was an amazing show! It had a cute story line with incredible acrobatics. A lot of great talent here! The comedy skits (with solo "Clown" dude) in between the main storyline are cute and hilarious. This is located on the northern end of Nebraska Avenue and waters. Beware that there is paid parking for this event ranging between $15-$20. We went for the $15 option. Once you find parking, walking there is pretty easy as they have many parking/traffic directors for cars and pedestrians. The food and drink at this event are a bit pricey. For example, water was about $5 and everything else was in the double digits. The restrooms at this location are located at the exterior of the tent. They're the fanciest porter potties I've ever used at any event. They were clean and actually flushed. They have sinks to wash your hands just outside of them. They have AC in this tent with AC ducting built-in which made it a bit chilly, but in a good way. Overall a great and organized set up and show! read more

The music was very entertaining and upbeat; one of the best Cirque music soundtracks I have experienced. The acts were very entertaining. The entertainers were very energetic and did a great job of engaging the crowd. My favorite was the BMX bike act at the end of the show. Parking - Parking ranged from $15 to $20. It a little hike to the entrance of the show. Could be a problem for the elderly or anyone who has a handicap. Drinks - $12 for a Budlight!! The most expensive beer I have ever had at an event. Very overpriced. A popcorn was $9! I feel the food and beverage prices should have been a little less since the tickets themselves are a bit pricey. We went to the opening of Cirque. We had a spectacular time. The tents are set up within the Tampa dog track. Driving up they are massive and constantly change colors. Parking is $20. Bring cash for this as they only have one mobile credit card machine and you will block the flow of the line. It was opening night and we were greeted with multiple appetizers like cheese on a stick, baked Mack and cheese and an assortment of yummy cocktails. They handed out packets of emergency red rubber noses and had a display got makeup and pictures. They had a trio playing drums during the cocktail time. Inside the tent there is s snack stand. Prices are high. $14 for a small bag of popcorn that you can refill. $5 bottled water. There is a store to buy mugs T-shirts etc. the stage is round surrounded by the seats. The seats are snug. You will become friends with those around you. Port a potties are outside. The show was outstanding. A mix of comedy, gymnastics, rollerskating and bmx bike jumps. There is a lady suspended by her hair, tumblers and singing. There is not a bad seat in the tent. There is alot of audience participation. The show is 2 1/2 hours long with s 20 minute intermission. This was an incredible show. I was fortunate enough to receive tickets as a Yelp Elite perk, and I am so glad I was able to see it! High octane performances showcase the awe-inspiring acrobatics Cirque du Soleil is known for and are sure to keep anyone who sees it enthralled from start to finish. I didn't find it as emotionally impactful as the other Cirque performances I have seen (the story doesn't really flow compared to them), but there is no denying the entertainment value inherent in this show. I have been to probably 10 different Cirque du soleil shows, resident shows and travelling shows. I have to say this is the best travelling show that I have seen by cirque du soleil. I am a huge fan of the acrobatic acts and this show had an abundance of them, and they were all top notch. The agility, strength and endurance of these athletes is wonderful to watch. The timing involved is so precise, especially the fantastic BMX act for the grand finale. As with most cirque shows there is a storyline and plot, this one follows the story of a game show and its host's quest to be free. This lasted throughout the first half. There's a 25 min intermission and the second half, although not quite as electric as the first, didn't seem to follow the story line as much. The "announcer" of the game show who was also the resident "clown" was a fantastic physical comic and had the whole audience laughing especially the scene where he's doing the laundry. So now about the venue, it's set up in the parking lot of the Tampa greyhound track. The tent and set inside is so impressive for a travelling show that they set up and break down from city to city. The seats are a bit small and uncomfortable but you are on the edge of your seat the whole time any way. Even sitting on the side you had a good view of the stage as there's tons going on throughout the stage especially the finale. Now the parking situation is a bit difficult, there are hardly signs to indicate where to park, most parking is $20 and you still be have to walk around the entire gate to the front entrance. People did leave early because they wanted to get to their car to beat the car traffic from the parking lot. Overall it was a fantastic night out, the show was awesome and entertaining. Definitely recommend it, it's here for one more week in Tampa! read more

This was Novio and my first Cirque show. I did not know they were in Tampa. In the spirit of true honesty I don't think we would have bought tickets for the great seats we actually had if it was not for the yelp elite event lottery. I applied and got the tickets for Wednesday Feb 14th, the shows premier. We had $180 dollar seats and we could not have been more excited so thank you to the Yelp team and to the odds. As Mark J. so eloquently stated, GET THERE EARLY! Parking was a bit of a mess to say the least, wear comfortable shoes or if you are skilled at heels that's fine because you will be doing some walking to get to the very entrance. They check purses and have metal detectors, as they should, and keep the queue organized. I love popcorn and made Novio buy me some, it was Valentines afterall and I scored the tickets, he bought that and a bottle of water which totaled at $17 so it was a lil expensive. The show is beautiful. Highly recommend and great for the family. I've heard that young children are a bit frightened of other Cirque shows due to the intricate costumery and makeup. With Volta, you don't have to worry. The costumes are simple and elegant, there are a few that may intimidate the young viewer but nothing like O. Really go see it before it leaves Tampa, the show is pee your pants funny and tackles some deep topics of current society. Novio wanted me to add this: everyone is so insanely fit, Novio kept staring at my face every time the male performers would come out. Man, I haven't seen that many six packs since Novios super bowl party. All in all GREAT show. read more

It was so great to finally see a Cirque out of Las Vegas! Show: I don't want to give away a lot of details but be sure to do a little background reading on the Volta story so you can sorta follow along. For the most part, the acrobats were phenomenal. I loved the cell phone herd for some reason. My heart, prayers, and condolences to go out to the Cirque family for the tragic lost that did happen. It reminds me however, the dedication of the Cirque team and acrobats is life-giving for a performing arts for us to all enjoy. Thank you. Accommodations: The accommodations of the big tent. They did the best they could. But for this, I give them a 4 instead of a 5. I'm not sure how I feel about an outside port-a-potty for restrooms. Just doesn't seem right and perhaps they should have really reconsidered a different location. Nonetheless, great night for my wife and I at Cirque Volta :) read more

Volta is the 16th different Cirque Du Soleil show that I have seen. This is the show that didn't go at all like I expected and that's a good thing. My review has spoilers so be aware of that. When you've seen as many Cirque shows in a tent as I have you pretty much know what to expect. You drive up and see the blue and gold grand chapiteau. Before the show starts two clowns will come out and entertain the audience while speaking a language you can't understand. Pretty much all of that gets thrown out the window with Volta. The grand chapiteau is white and black for one thing. I was completely shocked that there was only one "clown" and he was speaking English! I thought it was ironic that he made a TLC "waterfalls" joke because they'll be performing here soon! I was initially so confused when clown guy talked us into the start of a.....game show???? After the game show segment the first act of jump roping was actually one of my favorites. One of the performers was jumping rope on his freaking forearms while doing a handstand. This was done in the dark with the performers wearing shiny costumes and the rope being lit with LEDs. They were moving SO fast and it looked so cool! The song during this act was incredible and instantly convinced me to buy the soundtrack (fun fact: this song isn't on the soundtrack). There are a couple of characters that are present throughout the show. The roller skating woman is so talented. She skates like a figure skater but had no problem walking down steps either. When they started setting up hexagons on top of one another I screamed "I know what this is!" because acrobats jumping through them was my favorite act from Dralion. One of the artists actually failed twice doing the seemingly impossible task of a tumbling run ending with a jump through the highest hoop. When he nailed it the last time the crowd went crazy cheering for him. That was a great moment. The only other act that was familiar to me was the bungee from Mystere. It was cool seeing it again and at the same time artists were swinging on gymnastic rings and doing spectacular dismounts in the air. The one act I wish I could see again was the hair hanging act. The internal dialog in my head completely distracted me from this act: Oh I wonder what she's going to do. Hmm they're making it appear she's hanging by her hair. Wait, is she really hanging from her hair? OMG she's hanging from her hair. OMG look how fast she's spinning. OMG they're taking her to the top of tent! It was such a mesmerizing act and unlike anything I've even seen before. The BMX finale was kind of a wash for me. Our incredible seats became "pretty bad seats under a ramp" during this act. The curve of the ramp was clear so we could see some of the action but I missed seeing a lot. My complaints would be the bathroom situation and the parking. This old greyhound park just couldn't properly handle so many cars. It was pure pain getting in and out of the area. I also hate the line of port-a-potties they have set up where you're looking at people's feet while they use the bathroom. Other touring tent productions like Cavalia will bring in a semi that feels like a real bathroom. This primitive setup is awful. I like traditional Cirque but I also like this new Cirque that is trying different things and was unpredictable for me. I really enjoyed Volta. read more

Loved the show! This has reaffirmed my need to see as many Cirque Du Soleil shows as possible because it's just incredible. The stunts, acts, music, choreography...EVERYTHING is so amazing! I was mesmerized the entire time. This was a smaller one than the one I've seen before this at the Tropicana Field a while back but it was great because it felt more intimate and we were so close to the stage that I could actually see all of the performers without any issues. The hair hanger lady - wow! How does she do that?! The story line was cute, I was a bit confused at the end but overall, great show! The wife and I went to opening night and had a BLAST! This is my fifth different Cirque show and it never gets old. A sensory overload of color, lighting, music and motion, Cirque delivers in spades. It was an amazing combination of acrobatics, BMX, and circus acts that kept us spellbound for the entire show. If I had to pick one amazing thing, it would be the dance routine with the BMX bike. I've never seen anyone use a bicycle as a dance partner before and it was incredible to watch. The venue, a big circus-type tent in the parking lot of Tampa Greyhound, worked as a comfortable setting to view the show. The story of Waz flew by and the evening ended before we knew it. I love Cirque Du Soleil and this show was definitely up to the lofty Cirque standard. Like the Terminator, I'll be back (to another Cirque show). read more

You also had to walk across the street to the show and no one seemed to be able to direct traffic. Inside the tents they have extremely over-priced concessions and souvenirs. A beer cost me $12 and that was the cheapest thing on the menu, excluding the $5 water. The bathrooms are portable but they're the nicest portable bathrooms I've ever seen. There is AC inside of the tents and all the seats gave you a pretty decent view of the stage. As for the show, the storyline was very confusing. I spent the entire time trying to figure out exactly what was going on. In my opinion, they could have just left the storyline out completely. Besides the confusion, the show was really entertaining and the acrobats were incredible. All in all a great show, but I wouldn't spend $100 a ticket to see it. read more

This show was amazing. Worth the trip to Tampa. It was pretty amazing the seat arrangement under a tent. Seats were just like stadium seats so pleasantly surprise. We were seated right in front of the stages - you get a decent view (I think from all angles). The entire show, from the light effects, acrobats, stunts, singers, musicians -- all were fantastic. We have been in other Cirque Du Soleil show and this is the only one I have to say time went by super quick. We were that entertained during the entire show. Thank you Yelp for the tickets! This was my 2nd Cirque Du Soleil show I've seen (the first was Kooza in 2010 in Miami) and although much different, it was amazing! The amount of athleticism and grace that these elite performers put on display day in and day out for our entertainment is not lost on me! The story was fun and the acts were fantastic. Standouts for me were the comedy roitimes, the performer who swung from her hair and the finale of BMX riders. The seats were great, although a bit tight for a big guy like me, but I opted not to upgrade at the show because I was perfectly happy with my view. The only reason knocked off a star was that the parking situation was a mess and the food beverage prices were ridiculous. Even worse than concert prices! 12 dollar domestic beers are not something I'm willing to pay for. WOW! Hands down my favorite Cirque show ever! This is maybe the 10th or 11th one we've been too, and was definitely our favorite. So why the 4 star? Right before start of the show, someone in the audience needed medical attention. Like serious medical attention. It was honestly really scary and sad to watch the medics work to keep this woman alive. No one addressed the situation there or reached out to us after with any communication, and by the end of the ordeal a good 90% of the audience was aware of what was going on and the mood was somber. And I know that venues always overcharge for drinks, but $14 for a thimble of wine is a little ridiculous. With that said, the show itself was absolutely amazing. The "clown" and cast did an amazing job of turning our spirits around within minutes of the start of the show. They had different acts than I had seen at other shows, which was fun, and had a very millennial vibe to this show. We sat in row BB seat 1 and 2 and WOW WOW WOW it was amazing to be up close and my husbands seat, although in row two, actually didn't have a seat in front of him so it was an amazing seat to be in! How to rate Volta ? That's a though one ! Well, Volta is neither bad nor awesome. BIZZARE perhaps ? As far as music goes , both the male and female singers are great, with extra points going to the male singer for star like exhibition. The sound technician could have done a bit better job though. There are only about 5 female performs at Volta, and about 20 males, pure muscles, steroid free eye candy. As far as performance goes, it seems Volta's recruiters shopped for their talents on YOUTUBE. Don't get me wrong, their performance was flawless, but due to their skills with bikes and other equipment, the performers are most likely stars amongst their peers (20-25 year old), whereas the general audience of Cirque seems to be aimed at 40+. Or it maybe that I'm finally getting old..... The story? None it seems. Volta started with American Idol like performance and from there made even less sense. Make up was more or less non existent. As for the costumes - some were awesome (glitter that changed color), but for the rest, the designer should receive electric chair. Priority eligibility. Yes some of the costumes were really that bad. Having fallen victim to Cirque's Vegas based "Believe" show with Chris Angel, I now read reviews before purchasing Ticket to Cirque shows. But unlike O, Totem, Alegria and handful of others, Volta gets only 4 stars from me for: lack of make up, partially bad costumes and no new acts. I have no regrets seeing this show, but in my case it is due to the fact that I have not seen a Cirque show in years, as I no longer blindly throw money on every show, the Cirque spits out, so others may disagree with my rating. read more

What a way to spend Valentine's evening! I know, I know, I'm about a month late in posting... but I can still remember it just as vividly as that night! First off: my husband was super not enthused about us going when I first told him I got us some Yelp-comped tix to go. He was quite the Mr. Grumpy-pants as we were on our way; he had a certain idea of what the show was about and thought he was going to hate it. But as soon as the show started kicking off, he was right there clapping, laughing, and amazed like the rest of us! So if you think you know Cirque and think it's lame.... just know that a super grumpy dude was able to make a complete 180 with his mood. That being said: what an incredible show! I loved everything from the BMX bike acrobatics to the slapstick humor, but my ultimate favorite performance was with the girl suspended by her hair! It was such a sensual piece, it gave me goosebumps!!! I have always wanted to go to a Cirque show, and was so impressed with my first experience that I would love to go to another now! The only thing that was crappy was the $20 parking, which was akin to one of the outer rings of hell. I mean, you're already paying for a ticket, you don't need to gouge us that bad with parking, do you? Not like anyone's going to be walking' here... Regardless, KILLER show that I pretty much recommended to everyone I know. Only open for a few more days in Tampa! read more

I got to experience Volta courtesy of Yelp and it was just as great as past Cirque shows I've been able to see in Vegas. The performance kept my attention throughout both acts and the talent and skill of the performers is amazing. The seating was a bit tight and the parking fee was a bit ridiculous, but that was easy to look past when you are mesmerized by the sights and sounds of a Cirque show. It was tragic to hear about the accident that occurred after the showing I went to. The skill and dedication by these performers to put on shows like this is truly admirable. read more

Having only seen one other Cirque Du Soleil show (the one in Disney Springs), I still didn't know what to fully expect from the show. The venue is definitely unique, you park in the large lot (for $20) and end up walking all the way around the venue to get to the entrance. The tents are setup in a very "circus" type venue and you see them when driving on I275 North or South. Unlike other circus events I've attended in a tent, this venue is top notch, very clean and organized. There are no formal bathrooms (this is a giant tent afterall), there are Porta Potties scattered throughout and surprisingly,they were very clean and there's an outdoor area to wash and dry your hands. Now on to the show... I must say, there's really no "bad seat in the house" given the size of the overall venue. The show itself started off a little weird in my opinion with a game show called "Quid Pro Quo" which didn't seem to mean anything under than to have a unique name and maybe play on the fact that some people may not know what the term means? Not really sure... the costumes resembled something from the Hunger Games to me, not the kids killing each part, but the overall elaborate costumes and such. The show offered some unique and talented performers, very male oriented with some female performers. One female performer, which occurs during an hallucination portion of the show? was performing with her hair tied to a rope which was fascinating to watch and also a little cringe worthy. I won't give away too much other than the performance in the second half were a little more elaborate and more enjoyable to watch than some of the first few. The story is a little hard to follow but you sort of get the gist of it, overall a great show and cool experience. read more

This was my first Cirque Du Soleil experience! I am so grateful for the tickets it was such a beautiful experience. Parking was across the street and did seem a little steep at $20 but I didn't pay for tickets so didn't mind. The event was being held inside a huge (I MEAN HUGE) tent. If you even begin to think "rinky-dink" just wait till you get inside. The tent was set up really nicely inside it was also huge! Once inside there were a few walk up bars, concession stands and gift shops. The food and drinks were a bit pricey but again I didn't pay for tickets so felt it was fair. Although I will say my honey and I opted for the Combo #1 which I thought was a great deal, for $24 you get a bag of popcorn (free refills) + 2 drinks (non alcoholic) + 2 candies of choice (I got peanut M&Ms he got gummy bears). Once inside the main tent is was clear there was really no bad seat in the house. Once seated however it was clear every seat was a bit small and a little bit of a tight squeeze. We did not realize till we were on our way out that we could have upgraded our seats for $10 each, though I do not know that those seats would have been much larger. The show itself was really good. There was somewhat of a story line I followed until the end of the first half (there is a 25 min intermission), after that I was just mesmerized. This is not an average circus it is clearly much fancier, with much more acrobatics. It was just all pretty, pretty to watch! My favorite by far was the girl being pulled up by her hair. Not just because she was tied by her hair but because she was mesmerizing, lots of fluidity in her movements. I think ticket prices for this show are justified. These people do some amazing things and they put on a great show. I highly recommend it and can't wait to check out another Cirque Du Soleil show in the near future! read more

WOW! Volta: Intriguing from start to finish. But first the areas easily overlooked, but at Volta, they have it down pat. Bring $20 for parking (cash only). Lots of friendly parking staff gets you right in and out easily; very organized. Everything is laid out well. Even with large crowds, there is plenty of room for mingling. Everyone well trained from security to ushers. The seating wraps around the stag; every seat is good. Lower level and section 200 is better. Every form of entertainment included in this creative and captivating show. There is something for every age group! Spoke to many friends afterwards about what they liked the most and every person stated something different! Nothing like it! If you haven't been, what are you waiting for?! You will walk away pleasCan't believe I had never been before now. Looking forward to our next two plus hours of entertainment by the best group of athletes and entertainers. I love Cirque du Soleil shows and have been attending both traveling and fixed shows for many years. This show was underwhelming to me. I was actually bored with the first half. There is just so much tumbling one can watch. Don't get me wrong, the performers are quite talented, and I do appreciate that. I missed seeing the elaborate colorful and crazy costumes that are usually part of these shows The mandatory "clown" performance was great. He made me laugh many times. I found the second half of the show better than the first. If you have never attended a Cirque show I think you will enjoy it, even if the story line can be a bit confusing. The true star of this show is the music. Never saw a Cirque show where the music wasn't outstanding. A couple things to keep in mind..it is freezing inside the performance tent so you may want to bring a sweater. Bring cash...it's $20 for parking (ridiculous), $5 for a bottle of water, $12 for wine, $12 for a bag of popcorn and $14-$16 for nacho chips with cheese and salsa. There are souvenirs, but I didn't look at them but I'm sure they were overpriced as well. So definitely treat yourself to this show, you'll have a good time. Then get yourself to Vegas to see the greatest Cirque show ever, "O" at the Bellagio!! read more

Very pleasantly surprised. It's been about 25 years since the last show of theirs that I have seen. This show was action packed and kept me fully entertained through the entire show. Only downside was $28 for 2 small glasses of champagne, but it is what it is and not deducting any points for that. Yes, parking is a 20 spot, so be prepared, but definitely go see the show. read more

I will admit that hearing it was a pop up tent I was skeptical of how fabulous they could make the venue... they showed me! The show was so mesmerizing that even if the venue was less than par you wouldn't have noticed. However the tent was amazing (and air conditioned). Loads of bathrooms, concession stands, bars, gift shops and staff walking around to answer questions and help direct you. Not a bad seat in the house either, even if you were in the farthest back row you were lower level in any other venue. The performance itself was all over the stage, tent and room. There was something by everyone and they continued switching your focal point the entire show. The beginning was a bit slow in order to sort of introduce you to the story line. As the show progresses it starts to make more sense and firm your complete understanding. I promise you won't leave disappointed. All the major points of a real circus with the human magic that Cirque Du Soleil is so famous for! read more

I am a huge Cirque Du Soleil fan, I have seen several of their shows. This one did not disappoint! I actually won some tickets courtesy of the Yelp Elite squad and we decided to upgrade our seats to get a little closer. Had we seen our seats before we went in, we probably would have kept our original seats because there were no bad seats in the house! The show was very entertaining and the finale was AMAZING! Very entertaining show. Lots of action, color, showmanship and really entertaining. I wasn't quite sold on the story line, it was sort of blurred with all the different acts. The tent concept was very interesting. It seemed like all seats had a great view of the main stage. It was very comfortable inside. Not a huge fan that we had to use porta potties but at least they were well maintained. Concessions were really limited, they had beer wine and a few mixed drinks and a very hefty fee. Only food I noticed that was available was popcorn and soft pretzels. read more
