This place doesn't disappoint, I love everything, from the clean modern yet inviting ambiance to the café de olla and the Chilaquiles! I ordered the Mini Reketes: chilaquiles divorciados (red and green salsa) which come with shredded chicken. I added queso panela asado and chicharrón with mixed salsa... DELICIOSO! And to top everything else, the service was kind and friendly, as soon as I let Nancy know it was my first time here they walked me through the options and what they are known for. But that's not all, I came in hungry and left satisfied AND motivated by their kind personal note in my coffee cup and inspired by their place matt. If you are in McAllen and surrounding areas you need to try this place!

My favorite is the Tacos Llorarás (you will cry taco) which features a handmade corn tortillas stuffed with a chile relleno made of jalapeño and cream cheese, plus a flavorful beef birria. Add your garnish and salsa of choice, and if the heat of the chile doesn't make you cry, you will eventually cry if you cannot return soon. It's that good! Drinks are either Jamaica (aguas frescas style). This location is right across the road from the Sam's Club on South Jackson Road. There is additional parking in the back. Family friendly.

Clean, friendly and enjoyable food…read more This place serves good traditional plates from Mexico and my favorite thing was the quality of the café de olla. Unfortunately, I was too stuffed from chilaquiles that I wasn't able to partake but a must next time for me. While we were there we were able to experience the staff celebrating a birthday for another customer that was fun, having them start with La Maňanitas, with a joyful spin of them singing Happy Birthday, followed up with 50 cent verse from "in da club" It was fun to watch and be there for that. The price is right in that mid-range between $11-30 for a meal with drinks which is similar all around. This place fell short on the chicharrones and grilled chicken. There was nothing wrong, just expected a better taste and quality for the pricing. Grilled chicken was better once I put more hot sauce and the chicharrones tasted like they were from a store bought bag. Beyond that I look forward to trying another meal and trying their bakery goods next time

Came here for the first time to try some "authentic Mexican" food. Ordered some cheese enchiladas,…read morethe staff was very courteous and tentative, sadly, the food was not good. My enchiladas were extremely salty. I informed my server who promptly exchanged them for cheese entomatadas, or so I thought, although these were not salty, they were stuffed with chicken, not cheese. Once again I informed the server who promptly fixed them. But as the saying goes, "first impressions...." I would not return nor recommend this place. I may excuse the occurrence if they were so busy that they could not keep up, but there was only one other table besides mine.
