From…read morethe day I arrived, Bill and Linda were incredibly welcoming and always went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of. The inn is clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The breakfasts were excellent and one of the many things that made staying here such a great experience. The location is also hard to beat-- a 2 block walk to the beach and a short drive to Main Street, making it easy to enjoy everything Belmar has to offer. What stood out most to me was the hospitality. Staying somewhere for nearly a month gives you a much different perspective than a quick weekend trip, and throughout my entire stay Bill and Linda consistently made me feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you both for making my extended stay feel like home. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the Inn at the Shore to anyone visiting the area. 10/10.

The inn's location is quite close to the Bradley Beach NJ Transit Train Station, and it is just half a block from the beach, so most of the rooms have views of the Atlantic Ocean (mine did!). The innkeepers and owners are so charming and friendly, and they really want to make sure everyone has a good visit to the shore. Though I only stayed one night in the Cape May room on the 3rd floor, I really enjoyed my time at the inn. I loved the huge wrap-around porch and the comfortable homey feeling in the main living area. I also really appreciated that they had "Shared Book" shelves all around the inn on every floor.

Our room, the common areas, the verandah, the breakfast, and the hospitality were all outstanding. I couldn't have been more pleased. Our room, the Savannah, was one of the smallest in the Inn but it was still surprisingly spacious, tastefully decorated, and thoughtfully appointed. The mini-fridge was a nice touch (we stocked it with club soda and wine); the shower had plenty of water pressure and hot water; towels were fluffy and plentiful; bedding was comfortable with a pillow top mattress, lots of pillows, a summer-weight down duvet and fresh cotton sheets. Although the room offered air conditioning, we opted for open windows and the ceiling fan. The basket of magazines and bookshelf of paperbacks in the upstairs hall was a stroke of hospitality genius. Ditto the fresh-baked cookies in the dining room in the afternoon... and the cold bottled water for the beach. These small mindful touches were very much appreciated. A number of very nice amenities were available, including loaner bikes, free beach towels, chairs and badges. The hosts, Chris and Debbie, were thoughtful, friendly and unobtrusive. They made us feel absolutely welcome and comfortable without overwhelming us. The full breakfast was fresh, yummy and plentiful -- and served at a human hour (9am - 10am). For early risers, the coffeepot is perking by 6:30am. We plan to visit again and I absolutely recommend the Atlantic View Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing beach-side stay at the Shore.

The hosts were gracious, and the hot breakfast and fresh afternoon cookies were delicious! It is located very close to the beach and has an old world charm. We loved sitting on the front porch in the evenings. My biggest complaint is that the bed was extremely hard! For the room cost, you would expect a more comfortable bed. Maybe add a mattress topper or pad? I woke up sore in the morning. The staff also did not make our bed in the morning, although they did provide fresh bath towels (which is less common in these days of environmental awareness - typically if you want a fresh towel you leave yours on the floor but they don't have that policy). It would have been nice to come back to a made-up room. There also was no shampoo or conditioner provided. All in all, it's a lovely place and I highly recommend it. Just had a wonderful weekend getaway at the Normandy Inn. I called the inn to arrange a late check…read morein, and the woman who answered my call couldn't have been nicer. She explained where the keys would be, the parking situation and just was very friendly and accommodating. BF and I arrived at 645 pm on Friday evening, had no problems getting into our room. There are only a few parking spots for a few guest rooms, but we were able to park on premises. There is parking less than 1/8 mile away near the beach which we would have been more than fine with. There's no street parking in Spring Lake. We loved our room, it was clean (although a little chilly) and the bathroom was perfectly sized for two people. We went to Belmar for dinner (we walked as we had just sat in the car for a few hours) and then sat outside on the huge porch before heading up to bed. We got a later start in the morning Saturday (we wanted to go apple picking in Freehold, about 30 minutes away) but I stopped at the front desk to "check in" and the waitress from the restaurant wanted to know if we wanted to eat, even though she was almost done with her shift and breakfast ended at 10 (it was 950am). We thanked her profusely, but wanted to get on the road. She even offered to give us coffee and muffins to go, which was super sweet. We had a full day and came back for bed around 830pm and there was a night manager around, which we didn't see on Friday. We decided to sit on the porch again and drink the wine we didn't finish from dinner. BF ran upstairs to get a phone charger and the night manager came out to check on me, offering tea, blankets, and was just as friendly as could be. We had breakfast there on Sunday, I was really impressed with the selection of food. I've been to BnBs that only have one or two options or they put out whatever they want to serve and call it a day. You can choose from a bunch of different options. I had an omelette and BF had the pancakes. Both were delicious and the service was excellent. Was able to check out with no problems, very quick and easy. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the inn. It is old but it's quaint and charming. BF and I were the youngest people there, but we didn't mind. The other guests we interacted with briefly were friendly. I had read some negative reviews after I had booked our stay, so I was slightly apprehensive, but we had such a different experience there. I highly recommend this charming B and B. I would definitely come back.

The bed's mattress felt like you were sleep on a mattress of wooden plank that were laying on the road. The room was dirty, I found crumbs and hairs and even some stains on the mattress. I wonder if the cleaning help has ever heard of a vacuum or a laundry machine. Then there was the bathroom. It was the size of a teacup, if you were to close yourself into the shower you wouldn't be able to walk in it you would only be able to turn in circles. The toilet was clogged when we got there and the staff didn't fix it so I had to do it myself. Finally for the room the towels smelled like bacon, I am pretty sure that they are the same towels that they use to clean the dishes from the breakfast. Speaking of the breakfast it was god awful. I got the scrambled eggs and they overcooked half of my plate while the other half was undercooked. How do you manage to do that?! Let's just say I am never coming back after this experience. Do not come here if you care for your health and want to have a pleasant vacation.

You can probably get better prices on bulk shrubs if you go all the way to Gasko's, but I rarely buy in bulk so this place definitely hits the spot for my needs. They have a cute little meditation koi pond near the storefront. I find the place to be a little disheveled in that if you walk around, beyond the plant and shrub area, you'll find a smorgasbord of trees, pavers, and landscaping items somewhat randomly laid around the property. We've gotten great deals on some of these items... while they may not be featured for sale, they'll work out a price with you. For example, after roaming around I came across a huge oddly shaped paverstone I needed, which was discontinued from mass production, and a (really) old tree which the owner said he could dig out and deliver. Great finds. Anyway, I am glad this place exists, and is nearby.
