I felt guilty tossing that cup in the trash. No regard for the environment in this city. Food was good though and I'm glad I got to try this TX burger chain. The staff were pretty nice. Unfortunately, that was exactly the case during our visit to this Whataburger. We placed our order through the Whataburger app at 12:17 a.m. after spending the evening enjoying downtown San Antonio. Despite ordering ahead, we did not receive our food until 1:16 a.m.--nearly an hour later. What made the experience even more frustrating was watching numerous customers who ordered in person after we arrived receive their meals 30 minutes or more before ours. There appeared to be no organized system for handling mobile orders. I want to be clear that this review is not directed at the employees working the counter and kitchen. They remained professional, kept their composure, and worked as quickly as they could under what was obviously a very difficult situation. They deserve credit for maintaining a positive attitude despite being overwhelmed. The responsibility rests with management. This was Friday night in downtown San Antonio, and there was a major concert at the Alamodome. None of this should have been a surprise. A competent management team anticipates predictable surges in business by scheduling appropriately, preparing inventory, and ensuring operational systems can handle increased demand. Instead, it appeared the restaurant was understaffed and unprepared, leaving employees to absorb the frustration of customers. That's not fair to the staff, and it's certainly not acceptable for paying customers. What happened wasn't simply a busy night--it was a failure in planning and leadership. When management prioritizes minimizing labor costs over being adequately prepared for predictable demand, the customer experience inevitably suffers. I hope the ownership reviews what occurred this night. The employees deserve better support, and customers deserve the level of service they expect from one of Texas' most recognizable brands.

We placed a large order with 15 separate meals, which I know can be a challenge for any restaurant, but they handled it with so much patience and professionalism. The kitchen got pretty much everything correct, which honestly deserves recognition because large group orders are not easy. We arrived right before the lunch rush, so a lot of people came in after us and had to wait a bit. What I really appreciated was that Mark himself came out to speak with guests and explain the delay. That level of care and hands-on customer service stood out to me. Mark has an incredible story, and I made sure to share it with our crew. Everyone was excited that we were able to support a local Black-owned business while in town. And most importantly... everything was AMAZING. The burgers were bomb. I had the Original Fatty's Burger, and one of my coworkers did too with with bacon. Pictured here, another coworker had the 1LB Lineman Burger with fries. And the banana pudding was absolutely divine made with real bananas! The food was a hit with the entire crew, and we cannot wait to come back again if we had the chance.

The chicken is also quite hot spice-wise. They don't give you the option to select spicy or mild, so I just assumed it would come out mild. I was wrong. It was spicy. The server said he'd put it at a 7/10 in terms of spiciness. That's fair. On service, it took a while for the food to come out, more than 20 mins, but I guess that's because the chicken is made fresh? I arrived right at 5pm. Potato salad and Mac and cheese don't take much time to scoop, so the wait was a little long in my view. Many other tables didn't have food either. Servers seemed nice and friendly. On ambiance, the location is south of downtown, and riding a scooter to get there is not advisable, as mine ran out of power mid-ride. Would not re-start. It's a pretty basic setup indoors but at least the air conditioning was working well. On value, it was a good meal for $21.38 including tax and tip.

NEW HALAL HOTDOGS IN SATX…read more Mad Dogs has officially made its way to San Antonio! Some refer to it as being home to the "best dogs in Texas" , serving up hotdogs, smash burgers, and more with a flavorful twist. Oh, and everything is 100% HALAL! Oh thank goodness for these guys! I've tried them out in Houston and they live up to the hype! Their creations are super cool like their elote dog, brisket dog, and specialty mad dog to name a few! My favorite right now is the Mad Dog or the loaded brisket fries With locations in the Houston Area, Austin, and now San Antonio, Mad Dogs is showing Texas what it's been missing out on! Come try them out for yourself at Lombrano Food Hall! Note: Lombrano food hall has a bunch of different establishments within it, but, there's no indoor seating. It's a smaller restaurant that was neither the cleanest nor dirtiest on both occasions, and though the employees weren't exactly full of smiles, they were by no means rude. If nothing else, they're quick on the food line and helpful if you have questions. The food is always fresh and hot, and they never skimp on the serving size. This last time I ordered a Chicken Burrito Bowl with White Rice, Black Beans, Queso, Sour Cream, and Cheese. They prepared my order with enough of each ingredient so that I didn't feel like I was lacking for any one particular thing. The Chicken wasn't too fatty but was still pretty moist, the Rice was soft and fluffy, and the Beans weren't over or undercooked. The Sour Cream, Queso, and shredded Cheese made for excellent creamy toppings. The Burrito Bowl as a whole made for an excellent and satisfying hearty meal that was absolutely packed with protein. If you need a quick bite downtown, stop by this Chipotle!
