I questioned it. When I bought them in BoysTown in Chicago, they were $8. Not in Champaign. I said, "Those are Chicago prices! There is no way they are that much. How much are the cheapest ones? I will take those." I had been being helped by a young man. Then I heard a female voice come over the speaker saying something very snotty about it not being Chicago prices. She would not repeat it or come to the window. I said, "I have paid that there, something isn't right with the price here. I will go elsewhere." Then the young man said, "You can get the Pall Mall's for $6.02." It did not make sense, and he gave no explanation. Had I not questioned it, I would have been overcharged by $2. How many people have they done that to? No apologies, no explanations, nothing. I will be going inside next time, if I go back, so I can see who is trying to be rude and hateful while speaking to me, and so I can physically see the prices.

I stopped in at this location with my girlfriend recently to have some photos printed. I've printed…read morephotos at other locations in the past, so I am familiar with their kiosks and the ordering process. Below is my experience with this location's poor customer service While chatting with my girlfriend, I sit down at the computer and plug my phone in using a cable in the drawer beneath the computer. I start the ordering process, continuing to chat with my girlfriend. At the very moment that I reach the "Connect your device" screen of the ordering process, I hear an associate rudely ask, "Y'all tryin' to print photos?" I was offended by the employee's tone in asking this question; she sounded annoyed and very impatient. I was also offended because the employee interrupted a conversation I was having with my girlfriend. I feel that would only have been an appropriate way to approach me had I been banging my phone against the computer screen and yelling, "LOAD MY PICTURES!" That was not the case... Anyways, I respond affirmatively to the associate's initial question, but adopt a tone of voice I hope will discourage any further interaction. The employee does not take my cue. Instead, in that same tone from before, I am told, "You gotta connect it to the computer!" Now very annoyed, I hold up my phone to demonstrate to her that it has already been connected and tell her that it is. She then raises her voice and responds with, "No it ain't!" She then walks up to the kiosk, yanks the drawer open, pulls out the other end of the cable I've already connected to my phone, mashes it into the USB port on the front of the computer, and stalks off in the opposite direction, sending a "Ya welcome" over her shoulder. Classy... Had she not so rudely inserted herself and kept us from proceeding with the order alone, my girlfriend and I would likely have solved that little problem within -oh, I don't know- 5 seconds? But, hey, why not behave like a condescending b****? Customer service is just your job. *Edit* To review: -Did not greet us -Did not politely offer assistance -When she did engage us at all, she was rude and condescending -Gave us unsolicited and unwelcome assistance

I've never had a single issue here. I'm a fan of this place for a few simple, yet understated, reasons: it's well lit, all of the pumps are working, and the tire air station is always up and running. They don't have a large selection of more exotic things like dairy-free loafs of bread or frozen mock meats suitable for a vegan, but they do have some Mornigstar Farms items. I would suggest those for vegetarians if it were not for my recent discoveries about GMOs... While it sometimes feels like I am, I am assuming that I am not the only vegan or vegetarian visiting towns such as Monticello who is wondering where to go to get some eats. Anyhow, there is enough here that you can certainly make a meal no matter what your dietary needs. There just isn't much in the way of "quick" foods available here that I could eat if I just wanted to pop something into my friend's microwave. I am thinking that we did find some interesting items that I had not seen elsewhere, but it really escapes me what they were now. (I guess that means I will have to go back!) We were often visiting a friend in the area so we have shopped here when we did not feel like making the trek to Kroger or Walmart. I DO prefer to shop at small, locally-owned stores, but sometimes the hours didn't work for us or there were other things we needed at the bigger places. Everyone really should support this store though since it is such a luxury these days to have a grocery in a small town. It is for that reason that I am giving a four instead of a three because I am happy that it even exists. It was a huge selling point for me when we were considering moving to Monticello. All we have where we are now is a gas station and believe me I am grateful for that much! A grocery store would be heaven!

One last thing.. they're open for 24 hours! I've been here at odd hours and it's really nice to have a place to shop all throughout the day. Parking is plenty and it's in a quiet spot in Urbana. It's totally worth the short trip from Champaign to get here. Large & clean parking lot, clean shopping carts, wide aisles, nice lighting, all-around an attractive floor plan, clean store and super friendly employees. I found the location to be well-staffed when I visited, which was nice to see. This location offers the most expansive produce and wine/spirits sections I've ever seen in an Aldi store. Wow. The frozen foods department is quite large as well. Great prices on name brand cereal---General Mills Honey Nut Cheerios were $2.79 for a large box. If you're looking for something specific or name brand you'll have to visit a larger retailer, but for basics and generic items Aldi is great.
