So, when I H 35 and Mopac are busy when I am up north and I need to get home, I take 183 all the…read moreway around with the backroads until I get to where I am closest to (Slaughter area). Today, when I did that, I was passing a neighborhood and then saw it, A Texaco Bread Basket. It is very new (I have passed it a few times when it was being built) and it still has temporary building permits in the window, that kind of new....kind of sketchy but it is in pristine condition! The gas was a few cents higher than other places, but with the convenience of this place, forget about it. I was compelled to go inside. Immaculate, clean, fountain drinks, low prices, and then, to the left, is Cooper's Chicken and Hunt Pizza inside this store! The pizza looked good, but the chicken looked better!! I tried a tender strip of the Cooper's and wow.....wasn't expecting it to be that good. There were tons of people in there buying up this chicken and today was the catfish special for under 5 dollars with a side.... The chicken had actual batter on it and the man making it was actually using a meat thermometer to ensure the inside of the bird was done... This chicken tasted real and not made by robots! The coolest guy ever rang me up (you pay for everything in one place, not at the food side at the gas/snack side) he had a wonderful accent and told me he was from Jordan. This place is crazy cool. Ch-ch-check check check a check it out!

It's a big station with plenty of room to turn the big 26' moving truck I was driving. Also has a…read moresmall kitchen cafe that serves fried chicken, pizza, and more. Plenty of options in the market and helpful staff. It's also very clean! You're not going to get any culinary delights here, but after all it is a Gas Station. The only downside is occasionally you'll get some shady characters in there at night, but that's not really the fault of the business but it should be noted. They always have that one little thing I want when I just don't feel like running to the store.

I'm the guy who comes on buy beverages or snacks while I fill up on gas on the middle of my…read moredeliveries. I work down the street and I wear my uniform for where I work. What I find interesting is theres this short dark complected Indian/middle eastern guy who likes to hover around me. The same can be said with that old stocky long gray haired woman who wears glasses but most of the times she's up front at the cash register. Idk what's up these fools butts but damn, no matter how many times I come in and PAY for my items they are hard up and dead set with trying so hard to catch me stealing. Earlier on Saturday late afternoon sometime around 5:30-6pm the old gray haired woman was standing behind me and the short Indian guy barely logged into the front cash register to check me out. Which I found really too much of a coincidence. The woman made a comment while the Indian guy laughed. I just noticed the vibe as if they seemed to have planned to "catch me". Idk if it's the way I look or carry myself but I have ADHD. So I'm always hyper. The other thing is I pretty much kickbox on the daily. I'm pretty hardcore about it. So maybe it's my aggressive demeanor??? Then again it could be the piercings on my face. I can tell you one thing, that's my 43 yr old ass can and will not hesitate to knock a fool out who's eager to get their hands on me. Which is the vibe I get all the time when the Indian and this time around the gray haired woman show was standing behind me making fun of how I was "natural". Yeah I can't wait to come in again while police are there so I can explain to them how I'm being harassed because there's a thin line between recognizing a regular customer vs constantly profiling and hovering over someone who always pays. Ever since I have been working at the job I work at since last September, these fools really are just asking for trouble. Either one day they'll assume and make the mistake that I stole something just to get their asses handed to them or a police officer will be there and I'll kindly ask the officer to mediate and educate these fools how harassing people works... in turn the officer will probably ask if I wanna press charges. So yeah... let's think about that.

Great friendly staff and always good, fresh food to choose from. I like the wide variety of hot…read morefood that's available. It's also conveniently located.
