After sending an email stating what was wrong with my vehicle I had a phone call the next day & after answering questions it was suggested to me I have the car towed to Circle & Square, which I did. Circle and Square has been my trusted car service company since moving to NW Washington 22 years ago. They have serviced two vehicles since my moving here: a 4th generation Toyota pickup, which I had purchased brand new in the late 1980's (I drove that truck what seemed like forever) and my current car, a 2014 Subaru Forester, which I purchased used. Like my truck before, with the help of Circle and Square, I plan to drive my Forester until it dies, unless I go first! (For environmental reasons, an electric car is the only exception I would consider if they ever become more affordable.) Circle and Square is top notch. Its talented employees have always been kind and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. Took my old Volvo 240 in for an Oil Change and some small bulbs to get swapped out. Nice cars everywhere, I felt a little out of place as I walked in, cuz it's a really nice shop, but the manager made me feel right at home when he said "welcome to Volvo headquarters" lol. I Didnt know they had a shuttle in the mornings to get me home to Port Townsend. They offered me a free ride so I took it!! Great Service AND my oil change price was the same I paid at the quick lube place in PT!! read more

Now the plot thickens. I've talked to the warranty company and the screws Circle and Square claim were not covered, actually are!! Can you say over priced!! I was quoted $189.00 for a oil change. $90.00 more than the dealer charges. Unbelievable!!! Really felt I was being taken advantage of. Complimentary Car Wash isn't all that. I observed the attendant using a mop to clean the rims and tires and then drug the same mop over the hood of my vehicle, Really! I'm sure the paint on my hood received a few scratches from that.The attendant failed to do a complete vacuum as well, only vacuumed the front floor boards. I bought two vehicles sight unseen over ebay. '91 Suburban and '95 Bronco. My wife and I planned to drive them Seattle-Boston. I asked the mechanic at Circle and Square to go through them and fix anything they find. Perfect opportunity to take advantage out-of-towner, but no, they took excellent care of our cars. They offer an inspection service for $70/vehicle which I ordered for each. I really wanted to fix anything that would leave us stranded. (brakes, exhaust, etc can wait) The wrenches at Circle and Square topped off fluids, replaced wipers, etc. On the Burb they found it needed front end work which explained why the steering felt "floaty". All the work came to $800 which I thought was pretty good considering the age of the vehicles. We left Circle and Square and covered 3500 miles over the next six days without mishap. read more

Circle and square is a very professional establishment that took very good care of me and my vehicle. I've gone twice now, once to take my car in for a basic oil change, and the second to fix a check engine light. They are a little pricey especially since it cost $120 just to inspect the vehicle... but in all honesty I believe it's worth every penny. I was left with a sense of security that my car is and will be running well, when I told them i needed my car back ASAP due to work, they let me use their loaner car (which was free). I could not have had a more positive experience at this fine establishment, especially after my awful time at Jiffy Lube in PT. In addition to Circle and Square's friendly, professional service, they gave my dog attention and treats, checked my brakes much more quickly than anticipated, AND AND AND washed the outside and vacuumed the inside of the car!!!! (Anyone with a dog will appreciate this!) I discussed this with some friends, and not only does Circle and Square now have two--nay, four--new customers, Jiffy Lube has lost at least that many. 1992 Saab has a sticking handbrake. The mechanic said it needed new cables. I let them replace the cables and the problem still exists. Now they say they'd like to "try" new calipers. They charged $40 to mis-diagnose the problem, $360 to put in the wrong parts, and now want me to pay for them to "try" something else. When I looked things over, I found that the mechanic faild to reinstall the grommets that seal around where the cables exit through the floor. They claim a three-year, 36,000 mi warranty on their repairs. They'll never see me back again. read more

They have really done well by us. After a very expensive job right around the time the warranty was done, the manufactures parts failed. We didn't put it together that we were so close to the warranty. So we came in about a month past, and they honored the warranty and replaced everything. They have new owners and they have been really doing a good job. It sure beats going to the dealer in Bremerton. It's helpful to have a shop that can work on our e European car that we can trust. read more

Downhill Slide. We have been going there for about 1 year, and I am sad to say after today never again. We asked to have a fuel filter and the transmission fluid changed on our much beloved by elderly Mercedes. Had an appointment, yes the car would be ready to leave on our vacation tomorrow. Called tonight to find out nothing had been done....the real reason I wanted to get the car in was the fuel filter.. When it goes, it goes and it was gone. They had talked to my husband today, said all the fluids where fine.. They had completely forgot about changing the fuel filter What a cruel joke, not apologetic in the least. In fact, I really thought the Owner was a very decent person, his wife however, who I dealt with today, is unbelievably rude, and abrasive. Not apologetic at all... We have had the oil not changed and other minor items not completed before. This was important to us, now, we get to drive a "collector class" Mercedes on vacation, that gets 1/2 the mileage in Canada. If you want to be treated poorly, have to bring your car back for items they forgot, and plan to leave there twice the amount of time you planned, here is the place to go. read more

DO NOT DARKEN THEIR DOORS! VERY DISHONEST SERVICE!! They will keep your car for days, throw hundreds of dollars of parts into it as 'guesswork' as to how to repair it, send it home and then you will be back again for more of the same. When they can't repair it, they simply say there is nothing wrong with it - - as if you don't know how your car should run after owning it for 17 years! If you are in the Port Townsend area, do yourself a big favor and go to the dealership. You will spend less at the dealership, they will have the parts and expertise to make the necessary repairs and you won't come home with scratches to your finish by their 'complementary' car wash. Over priced, deceitful, lack of communication. Two thumbs down!! And then . . . to top it off, the mechanic yelled through the garage door "I hope you step in dog s@%t on the way home! read more

I'm furious. First off, this place often charges more than the Mercedes Dealership, but the people running the shop right now have to call the dealership to find out what they are supposed to do with the car! They're selling mediocre service and expertise for more than top dollar. They used to have a manager who really knew his stuff and I trusted immensely, but he left and the shop is back to being a waste of money. I had a transmission service done a few weeks back and the car immediately started having transmission problems. I took the car back to them to check on their work. They checked it out, said they couldn't figure out what the problem was and that I will have to take it to the transmission shop fr diagnostics and service. Fine, I can dig it, they're not a transmission shop, but then they charged me close to $200 just to tell me they could't help me!! I'm done with this place. If it's a higher end car, I can SAVE money by going to the dealer. If it's not a European car, I can save lots of money going to a more reasonably priced shop. They do, however, give you a lift home, even if you live 30 minutes away, and they are very friendly. "bedside manner" gets an A and I really like some of the folks there, but when I look at how much I'm spending vs. the quality of service I'm getting in return, I have to give them a total fail. How often does a shop charge you $200 to tell you they don't know and can't help you?!! Additionally, I had asked them to tell me how much it would be to do a certain service so I could decide whether I could afford to do it right now and instead of getting back to me with a quote, they just did the service and then charged me. To be fair, I would have chosen to do the service, but it didn't show well that the process we agreed upon was not followed. Won't be going back again. read more

I must say I was reluctant to bring my car to a "generic" garage. I usually bring it to the dealer and have been very happy with the dealer except it takes a ferry ride and all day. So, based on verbal recommendations from friends and acquaintances, I decided to try Circle and Square in Port Hadlock. I am so pleased that I did. The person behind the desk was very helpful and nice. He explained the inspection process and told me how long it would take to complete the work. The work was done early, and very reasonably priced. The place is very clean and I will definitely return for my next service. Four stars are based on my first impression. Maybe after my next couple of services I'll be able to upgrade to five stars. read more
