We stopped here on our way back home to NC for brunch, and thank goodness we did! The ambiance is incredible, very beautiful restaurant and great vibes. Our server and whole staff were so friendly, they made this experience wonderful. And of course, 1000 compliments to the chef. We got the gumbo, avocado chicken club, shrimp and grits, the mac and cheese and lima bean maque choux for sides, and the strawberry pecan cheesecake for dessert. Everything was so delicious. Would love to come back for their dinner service and to check out their speakeasy too! Couldn't recommend this place enough!!

My husband and I drove from Athens to try this restaurant. We had the brunch. I had the frittata fresca which has asparagus and other veggies and cheese with a side of jalapeno grits. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the frittata new orleans with meat and home fried potatoes which were great as well. We each had a bloody mary. Our server was Courtney and she was excellent as well. Can't wait to come back for dinner. Worth the drive.

Wow! Crab cakes, fluffy biscuits, gumbo, salmon and grits. All delicious!! Ended the meal with their special key lime pie and nectarine cheesecake. Everything is fresh and the service is wonderful. The staff makes you feel at home. Thank you Circa 1918!

We went here for my wife's birthday for Sunday brunch a rare venue that is open on Sunday mornings in this region. It didn't disappoint. It's a really charming spot with some very delicious and fresh food. Perhaps one of the few proper brunch spots I've been around here. I definitely recommend stopping in if you haven't been before. Not sure what lunch was like, but the breakfast options were tremendous our friend got the frittata which she liked very much. My daughter got strawberry French toast which of course she loved; my wife was able to get one of her favorites, Eggs Benedict, which she said was very tasty. I got BLT biscuits and jalapeño cheddar grits, which were delicious. I also got a bloody Mary, which I hadn't had in years, and it was great. It was made with saki instead of Vodka, which was an interesting twist. Anyways , check it out!

My girlfriends and I went back for a Galentine's brunch! The place is so unique and just a really cool vibe. It's like you step back in time for a bit. Cody was our server and he did great! Customer service both times I've been have been SUPERB! The food both visits has been flavorful! I love the menu choices and want one of everything! I was pleased yet again and will be back! Thank you for bringing something exciting and different to our little town!

What a charming and special place. The owner Ron is a true gem. We came in from out of town and we had 8 in our party. From the amazing speakeasy to the airy and spacious dining room, our experience was phenomenal. The appetizers were a hit. We enjoyed the charcuterie plate, pimento cheese, and trout and it was more than enough for our party to enjoy down in the speakeasy. Then we enjoyed our entrees in the dining room enjoying the steak, pork tenderloin, and shrimp and grits with some of their fantastic sides including the Gouda Mac and cheese. It was absolutely worth the trip. If we're ever back in town, we will be back.

LOVE this restaurant! It's less a mile from I85, exit 173. Beautiful Southern mansion that reminds me of Twelve Oaks in Gone with the Wind. Food is creative and wonderful, and service is very attentive. It's a great gem to stop between Atlanta and Greenville. Downtown Lavonia is right around the corner with charming train depot. I heard they are having a speakeasy coming soon! Can't wait to try!

Blood stain according to google. Staff at 1916 ignored my concerns.

The food is amazing, and the wine bar in the basement has a great selection and vintage ambiance. The pork tenderloin is divine.

Stopped by Cottage House Restaurant in Cleveland and this place is exactly what you want if you're…read morelooking for a solid, no-frills Southern breakfast. First off, the setup is super easy. You walk in, grab a tray, and you've got options. You can go through the hot bar and get served right there, pay, and be on your way... or order off the menu, sit down, and they'll bring the food to you. Very simple and efficient. The inside is spacious with plenty of seating, and there's also outdoor seating if you want it. Parking is easy too, which is a big plus, especially compared to the chaos you'll run into closer to Helen. Food wise, I always judge breakfast spots by the chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit... and this one held up. The chicken was tender, the biscuit was soft and fresh, and overall it was a solid start. The surprise for me was the hashbrown casserole. It came out good, but once I added a little salt, the flavor really popped. Definitely worth getting. The pancakes were also done right... nice crispy edges with a soft, fluffy inside. That's exactly how pancakes should be. Menu wise, they've got everything you'd expect from a Southern breakfast spot... biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, pancakes, omelets, and even lunch style items like burgers and plate meals if you come later. They also have a Coca-Cola fountain, which is always a win. Service was friendly, especially for early morning, and the whole place just has that comfortable, old-school home cooking feel. There is also a drive thru if you don't feel like leaving your car. Overall, this is a great spot if you want a good breakfast without the crowds. Simple, tasty, and easy.

The remodel is a success with open views of the mountains. The dining areas are clean and well…read morespaced. The meat and three along with the vegetable only options are welcomed changes to the family style only meal for those desiring smaller portions. In our experience, the food was served hot and was perfectly prepared. We chose white meat chicken and received two large breast that were excellent! The two catfish fillets and four slices of meat loaf were delicious. The vegetables were Lima beans, cabbage casserole, creamed corn, potatoes au gratin, slaw and a spring salad. All were served fresh with two biscuits and two corn muffins. The relish, apple butter and Sogrum-sage butter were delightful. We were blessed to have April for our server, and highly recommend her for your visit. She shared the history of the area and is proud of the changes and history of the Dillard House. Thank you for a great meal. The fried chicken is better than I remembered. Yes, the restaurant is open, and parts of the motel are being remodeled/updated and the new hotel is under construction. Don't let the remodeling deter you from the eating at the restaurant or enjoying your favorite drink from the bar.

Poor service, poor food quality. Not impressed at all…read more Ambience is nice, very spacious, newly built, restaurant. Friendly staff. Not very attentive at all. Say for 15 minutes before the manager had to obtain a server for our table. After the food was delivered, the server did not provide adequate service. I requested a water refill, which took an additional 15 minutes, because she continually forgot. Food quality wasn't the greatest. They served chicken, which consisted of 2 thighs and 2 drumsticks. Along with friend catfish filets, that had been way over salted. Both were very soggy. I ate half the thigh and quit. Veggies? Only vegetables were Lima beans, everything else considered vegetables, was a casserole. A table full of starches. Over rated and over priced. Sadly disappointed. If you want good southern food, go further south to Thomasville, GA. Go to O'Neals. You can fool some folks, but not someone that knows southern cooking. We won't return.
