Cinnamon Bazaar was one of "those" places. You know, the kind you dine at two nights in a row because you don't know when or if you'll ever be back?
Having not been opened long at the time of my visit I thought I'd stumbled on the find of the century but after some research I learned that this is a newer outpost of a place that already exists (in London's Covent Garden). On both nights I sat at an outdoor table but only on night #1 did I interact with a couple stopping to read the menu. "It's excellent!" I practically shouted before telling them what I'd tried so far. They read the menu further then came back and the man reported that it was "that type of restaurant... not really traditional Indian fare". It seemed fully authentic to me - authentically amazing - with bright flavors , bold spices, and beautiful presentation but I can't speak to what he noticed, only to what I tasted which I 'd normally report here but instead I'll say "look at my photos". Then? go to Cinnamon Bazaar and point at those photos and tell your server that you'd like one of each. But definitely don't miss the "Lamb Roganjosh Shepherd's Pie" which Time Out identified as one of London's best dishes. Believe.
And while you're there, be sure to get a White Rhino IPA (£6.50). Apparently this perfect accompaniment is served only at one other place, a place that's well-known and high-falutin'. But you can get it here and it's a perfect accompaniment to the food. As are the cocktails, which I also enjoyed greatly.
On my second visit, one night later, I tried to replicate the magic of the previous night's visit but I wanted to try different menu items. As good as they were I left feeling like I'd had the best of the best on night #1, all of which I'd happily return to order had I been there a 3rd night. read more
