I recently had the opportunity to visit this restaurant. It is a very popular restaurant in the UK the traditional Indian food was delicious. I really enjoyed the family style serving presentation. I was fortunate enough to have someone that knew what the food items were as I wasn't very well-versed myself, we were a party of 15 and I was surprised at the lack of service and attention. The table got I would've given the restaurant five except for the service and where they position. The table was very crowded and we were squished in trying to enjoy a meal if you're ordering a drink stay away from their martinis , however, the Mai were very good.

I was half worried the food wouldn't be up to the hype but do not fret! This food was amazing! This service was incredible!! Nico from Colombia and Ian from Malaysia absolutely kill the hospitality game. Truly I am so happy to have met them!! I went with my parents my mother in law and my husband. Not one bad thing on the menu. I was shocked but he house daal as its lentils and I hate lentils... I loved it!!! Btw the chocolate moose desert thing.... Incredible I'm nearly upset to have had it bc omg I need more!!!

Dishoom is a staple in London & this canary wharf location recently opened. An Indian / Parsi restaurant that stays consistent with their customer service & food quality. Absolutely obsessed with their okra fries, amazing flavor, perfect crunch and no oil stains on your fingers. Their house daal is some of the best I have ever had. The paneer was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth, and their rumali roti is a must have! Their old fashioned is a favorite, along with their whiskey sour. And of course cannot forget their chai! Always have to stop by Dishoom each time I am in London and the consistency of quality amazes me each time. Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5

Apple Maps and google maps did us dirty trying to find this spot. It's right outside the train station just past the mini golf. Once we found it the service was outstanding and food was amazing. Food: We got fried okra, khichdi/papadam, and chaat to start. All 3 were great. Nibu soda was basic. Then I found out the whole menu is halal. I wanted to order everything so I guess I'll just have to go back. At first I ordered paneer tikka and murgh malai with rumali roti, rice, kachumar, and raita but the server noted that it was all dry (good call) so we switched to the ruby chicken. He saved our meal. The house chai was like my dad used to make and the Kheer had a crème brûlée crust with blueberry compote. Nostalgic but with a twist Service: Literally 2 different servers kept checking on us, clearing things away immediately, making recommendations, offered to move us when they saw a small leak which I didn't even notice. Super attentive. Saved our dinner order, helped pick the best dessert. My colleague was a little late bc she was lost but they seated me without issue. Everyone was super kind. This area is really beautiful, too, so a nice place to plan a night out. I worked from the park nearby which has free WiFi and then walked over for dinner with my colleague. 10 out of 10

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, told me I had to go to Dishoom while in London. After visiting myself, I can clearly see why. I decided to make a reservation at their Canary Wharf location, the area also known as London's financial district. It's an easy tube ride from central London and a very beautiful and well lit area especially at night. My friend and I arrived a little early for my reservation so we were seated near the bar until our table became available. We decided to split some chili lime crisps while we waited. I can't remember the exact name of them, but they were so delicious and well seasoned that we had to order another round immediately after finishing them. When we were seated at our table, our server explained the menu and provided some of her recommendations which made it easier for us to choose from the plethora of options. I settled on the Chicken Ruby and garlic naan, and my friend ordered the Chicken Berry Brittania and Gunpowder Potatoes. The portion sizes made it easy for us to share with each other, and everything was delightful. I did find the Chicken Berry Brittania to be higher on the spice level than my dish, the Chicken Ruby. But nonetheless, everything was cooked to perfection and so delicious. It was easily some of the best Indian food I've ever had. For dessert I ordered a pistachio Kulfi on a stick, something I'd never tried before. It was a creamy popsicle similar to gelato. My only regret while dining at Dishoom was not ordering a chai, so this gives me reason to return again soon! I fully understand why everyone praises Dishoom and considers it to be a must-try, so be sure to make time for Dishoom while in London!

New dishoom location on Canary Wharf! This is actually my first time at Dishoom so I can't compare it with other locations. However, I can say that the experience was amazing. Food: the curry chicken and the dholl they recommended were absolute hits. The biryani had a lot of spices and was very flavorful. The breakfast rôti was so unique, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Note that you can only order it before noon. Ambiance: pretty nice restaurant but also casual enough to come here any day. Service: super nice staff who offer lots of recs. They also let us wait a little bit so we could order from the lunch menu as well. Unfortunately, they did not have takeaway boxes so we couldn't take back home the leftovers we paid for. Hence, the 4 stars

Dishoom is a super trendy London restaurant inspired by the Parsi cafes of Bombay! The food and service here were absolutely on point, and it's no wonder that this restaurant is so popular. One of the signature dishes was the House Black Daal, a stew of urad daal in a dark, rich, creamy sauce. We also had the Chicken Ruby, Dishoom's take on butter chicken made with chunks of tandoori chicken in a creamy, spiced, tomato-based makhani gravy. Both of these dishes were super flavorful and went perfectly with the freshly-made flatbreads including the thin roomali roti, the whole-wheat tandoori roti, and the garlic naan. We also got the Bowl of Greens (charred broccolini and snow peas) and the Chilli Broccoli Salad (grated broccoli with pistachios, red chilies, pumpkin/sunflower seeds, mints, dates, and lime), both of which were earthy, flavorful, and made for nice vegetable side dishes. While the prices here were high for the portion sizes, the experience was definitely worth it for the quality of the food, the colorful atmosphere, and the friendly, attentive service!

Had a late dinner at Dishoom in Canary Wharf while on vacation in London. Went on a Wednesday and the restaurant was full. Good atmosphere and good vibes. Service was good and the food even better. We had the vegetable Samosas, Masala Prawns, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka and Chicken berry britannia. Everything was full of flavor and delicious. If I'm ever in London again I will definitely come back.

The menu covers everything you would expect pretty well too and, given all the city folk around, not expensive The service was very good, friendly and efficient As for the food - it was acceptable, not the best I've ever had by any means but nothing untoward; a straightforward meal, tasty, spicy but not overbearingly hot and certainly plentiful...if in Canary Wharf again I would return

The gaudy orange sign, and the tinted windows with old men just hanging around the entrance made the restaurant seem less than inviting. I never notice any diners in there, maybe thats just the tinted windows. But a friend was visiting from out of town, and amused by the name - decided we should give it a try. And holy crap.. was I missing out! The restaurant itself is dimly lit and quite dark, so I'm not sure why the windows are tinted as well. The waiters were quite friendly and served us papadoms with assorted chutneys to start. For a small restaurant, they have an extensive menu along with exclusive items, but we didn't know what to order since everything was pretty much chicken / lamb / seafood mixed with "exotic spices, tomato, onion, and peppers"... but I think this is common for a lot of Indian restaurants. Anyhow, we ordered the Rogan E-Murgh (chicken in medium spice sauce), Tandoori E-Bahar (chicken in special cream sauce) and the lamb xacuti (lamb with fennel seeds, garlic ginger, and other spices) - all ranging between £7-£8. The descriptions are pretty weak, but honestly - I think you can just pick any dish, it'll be great! The food took about 30-35 minutes, a bit too long, considering we were the only diners and it was 9:30pm - but it was definitely worth the wait! The Rogan Murgh was really nice and flavorful saucy dish, the chunks of chicken breast were really tender, my only complaint was that it wasn't spicy at all. The Xacuti was a really nice lamb dish, more on the dry side (ie: no sauce), and the meat was extremely tender. Served underneath the meat was grilled green pepper. The sauce was nicely done, but also had a sour kick to it - I wouldn't have guessed it would be sour at all, but I really enjoyed it. The clear winner was the Tandoori E-Bahar dish: shredded chicken in a sweet curry sauce with raisins, tomato, (potato?), and topped with shredded almonds. In the end, the bill came out to £11 per person (we each had a curry dish, naan and papadom). Definitely a decent price for some excellent Indian food! Not sure what I'm gonna order next time.. the menu descriptions certainly don't do the food any justice, so I think I'm gonna have to randomly choose some other dishes to try. Other things to note about the restaurant: - all the ladies get roses at the end of the meal. A bit cheesy, but still nice :) - for any takeaway or delivery order over £25, they will throw in a bottle of house red or white wine, along with a rose - their menu states that they have been featured and recommended in several publications - all meat is Halal - portion sizes are very generous for the price! - flame-heated metal trays were used for our curries, so they stayed hot the entire time - there's an automatic 12.5% gratuity
