a cinnamon roll in a box
    Michelle D.

This uber famous American cinnamon roll franchise has been in my mind for a while. I'm always drawn to the smell that waft through the air whenever I pass by cinnabon stall, but it took me quite a while until I get to try. They come in 3 different sizes and I went for the small one (but not the mini). The bread was chewy with sweet smell of cinnamon sugar. The cream cheese was also very sweet. It was good but I'm glad I didn't go with regular size because I think that will be way too overwhelming. It's incredibly sweet so since I'm not too into sweets I might not go very often in the end

Forever love. Cinnabon has always been my favorite. The classic rolls alone can satisfy your cravings. The way the cream cheese complement the roll truly mouth-watering just by looking at it.

Caramel PecanBon with walnuts—too sweet but worth a try!

I looovvee Cinnabon. I have an unhealthy obsession with their cream cheese frosting. I would order a giant vault of it if I could. I've only stopped by the Cinnabon location in Queens Center Mall once, but the lone lady working there was so kind. She took care to listen to each customer's request and never rushed anyone. You know how people often don't look you in the eye and don't smile? Well, she did neither of that. She made me feel welcome and even happily offered to warm up my cinnamon bun without me asking for it. I got the Caramel PecanBon with walnuts and while it was entirely too sweet and not something I would order again, I'm glad I got to try it. (I love trying new things, even if they aren't exactly that great.) I will be back, maybe to get my favorite, trusty Center of the Roll buns, but more than that, because I really felt welcome by the excellent customer service.

It's the scent it's must be the scent... There is no mistaking the scent of a Cinnabon coming out the oven. It's calls me I swear "Eat me I am very very Yummy". I always order a Caramel Pecan Cinnabon & it is always delicious to the very last bite. The warm dough drenched in caramel frosting & pecans. Then Reality hits me, I just ate over 1,000 calories. I say to myself never again, but dammit I catch myself every time. I am in the Mall, standing in line waiting for a Cinnabon.

I did the most unthinkable, the most shameful, the most deniable of all of my shameful acts..., I stepped into a shopping mall, again. I.., I... ...it was the hottest, most humid of days that this little earthling has ever experienced.., I needed cover from the searing sun..., I needed to give my home's AC unit a rest.., and this place (trying to avoid the 'M'-word) is only 3 blocks from my crib.., furthermore, my paycheck was burning a hole right through my pocket! I had my reasons okay!? Anyways, so I happened to be in this 'place'. As the cool conditioned air started massaging my pores, I decided to help things along.., with a smoothie. Indicative of any mall, no matter how ginormous, how swanky, ghetto, or smelly, you have options. After three rounds of meticulously sifting through pages and pages of research material (yelp), I decided to go with Cinnabon for my smoothie fix. And, after drooling over all their pretty posters, I chose their... MEGA FRUIT CHILLATTA!! This is the prettiest smoothie on earth. I'm not exaggerating. Although, I am still suffering from a smoothie brain freeze. Regardless, I'll try in my best mentally incapacitated state to continue reviewing... They dressed this smoothie up and down with cute swirly raspberry syrup, then they hit it up with some whipped cream, and then they bitch-slapped it with some more cute swirly raspberry syrup over the top. It looked like (picture it with me now) a candy shop in a cup! My fillings started shaking when I held it in my hand.., to the point where I started wondering about co-payments. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the smoothie from beginning to end. The sweetness wasn't overpowering at all, and it was flavorful with a chilling side effect; (unlike Michael Myers, who IS overpowering, not tasteful at all, but rules when it comes to that whole chilling side effect thing). So, there I sat, in this 'place of business' shielded from the devilish heat outdoors whilst being thoroughly massaged inside and out by the AC & smoothie double team. The best $4.50 I've ever spent! Afterwards, I did some more unthinkable acts (Kohl's, TJ Maxx, Century 21). The good news is, there is no more burning hole in my pocket.

Cinnabon Cold Brew Iced Coffees - Cinnamon Roll and Vanilla
    Anita Y.

Cinnabon has been a longtime favorite for me no matter where I am in the country - I know that there is definitely always going to be a mall in my vicinity that would have a Cinnabon in it. I will forever be caving in to my cravings whenever that sweet smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls lures me in - but I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to talk about the new drinks that this popular American franchise debuted not too long ago: their new cold brew ice coffees. Dunkin' and Starbucks can take a seat. While those two have many coffee options to choose from, they still can't stand a chance compared to Cinnabon's 2 flavors: vanilla and cinnamon roll (my personal favorite). Like most Asians I know, I'm moderately to severely lactose intolerant (like effective immediately, instant regret mode, take-cover-fire-in-the-hole, whatever you want to call it... bottom line is - it's just bad) but I still risk it all for a Cinnabon cold brew.

It's absolutely amazing, and the filling is very generous--it feels like heaven in every bite. Another favorite of mine is the chocolate layer cake: rich, velvety smooth chocolate that isn't overly sweet. The only thing I don't agree with is that they do not clearly tell customers that dining in adds an extra $1 charge to each item. Yes, check your receipt. I'm expected to tip my waitstaff and also pay an extra dollar per item just because I chose to dine in. For example, the cupcake is usually $4.75 to go, but they charged me an extra $1 for dining in. Their cake slices are usually $9.50 to go, but I was charged $10.50. I also tipped 20%, so the added charge felt frustrating, especially since there was no clear notice. When I asked the waitstaff about the $1 charge, she said it was entered that way because I dined in. When I later called about it, the manager simply said, "Next time, just order to go if you don't want to be charged extra." That response was disappointing, especially since there was no visible sign explaining this policy, and their dine-in menu does not show separate pricing. I really think management should fix this to avoid misleading customers. Transparency matters. Don't get me wrong--I would still come back because their cakes are amazing, but from now on, I'll always order everything to go.

Over the years, I have tried many of their desserts since it's one of the only decent dessert options around the area. However, it would not be my first choice if I had others. With that said, my whole family and many of my friends all agree that their best item is the Berry Napoleon. That is the one cake that I do enjoy from this shop. We often buy a whole cake for a group gathering or birthdays. As for dining in, there's always a lot of people inside the store and it gets a bit loud. Not my favorite place to relax and chat with my friends. That's why I only buy takeout when I do get the Berry Napoleon. I think I do prefer the Astoria original location more.

We've ordered several cakes over the years for coworkers' birthdays, and each one has been beautifully made as well as absolutely delicious. One cake that truly stands out is The Crunchy. The fact that it's available in both individual and family sizes makes it even better for any occasion. I loved it so much that I personally ordered the Crunchy cake for my husband's birthday, and it was a huge hit. This corner store in Astoria is one I have been passing by regularly over the last few months, and it has good service and some nice outdoor seating. So far, my favorite item has been the Pistachio Lattice, which is super crunchy on the surface while the nutty sweetness shines through on each bite. Another one I really enjoy is the Blueberry Cardamom Escargo, which has absolutely delicious cream cheese frosting mixed with wild blueberry jam and that nice hint of cardamom. Very moist. The Chocolate Chunk Cookie is pretty good too. Plenty of chocolate chunks with a hit of salt. However, their popular Pain Au Chocolate is not the best I have had. There is just not enough chocolate in each bite. Prices are not cheap, but the pastries are mostly very large in size, so you somewhat do get what you pay for. I don't eat baked goods too often, so it's not that bad in my mind. Service has been solid too.
