    Oatmeal Raisin Cookie

So I came here on accident :-/ My initial intention was to order a pick up from the Levain in Williamsburg as I haven't been since I've returned to NY from Maine 3 months ago. Levain was always a favorite. Back to the story lol .... So I placed my order and to my horror the address said ASTORIA! what made it worse was that it's only a pick up window. (I'll tell you why later, I did not like) my original plan was to go to the storefront so I can also pick up a latte or a Valhona Hot Chocolate. (It was a cool evening) Buttttttt change of plans and trains. I looked up my reroute and proceeded to get my half dozen cookies. As I walked up to the window I saw a guy get his bag, so I'm excited to be seconds away from my cookies. Boy was I wrong. Another lady walked up as the same time as me and she rang the window doorbell. Why did the lady take 10 minutes to come back:-( okay maybe she had something to do but when she handed the customer her order, she proceeded to close the window. I was walking up closer and saying hey, hey,hey and she closed the window again right in my face. Now I'm ringing the bell and she isn't answering, I started calling the number. At this point I want to cry because it's been 5 minutes since she closed the windows and I'm in this sketchy area and I just want my cookies. A few minutes later she finally comes back. I get my cookies, go home and share it out. The cookies are all good as usual. I got 2 Oatmeal Raisin, 1 Two Chip, 1 Lemon, 1 Double Chocolate and 1 Chocolate Peanut Butter. They were all so divine, gooey in the right way and just enough richness.

    Look for this.

With the NYC congestion pricing, I am glad that I can still get levain when I want it. Order the cookies online. Ring the bell on building then look up for the lady. Literally a curbside pick up.

Received this in the mail from a friend. The inside packaging was fun and classy. The alternating cookies makes your mouth water. This detail was much appreciated. The instructions were clear on storage and reheating. And it was a super thoughtful gift from a friend!

I am not going to lie, I was pretty scared to go to this location due to the reviews, considering it is "pick up only" but I was craving some Levain cookies post meal (cannot ever go wrong with something sweet) and decided to order cookies through DoorDash! I ordered two of the chocolate chip walnut gluten free cookies, found the window & had my dad go pick it up! The guy at the window was super sweet & had our cookies ready right away! The cookies itself were pretty good! I would recommend this if you're local and don't want to make the trip to the city / Brooklyn!

After reading reviews I chose to just drive to the UES location because NO. Levain, why put up a location where there's public housing and warehouses? This is inappropriate for a business to sell cookies outside of a window. There's no foot traffic, burnt cookies, no train accessible nearby, even terrible for people in a car how can that even be possible. Anyway, do yourself a favor and not go to this one and dont even think to order online it's not worth it. I was trying to buy a huge order to bring to my country. This isn't it.

It was great! No different than the standard store experience. Today we tried their seasonal limited edition lemon cookie. Not obnoxiously sweet. Sweet like the spring sunshine! Enjoy!

Gotta be the shadiest spot to order and pick up cookies from. It's just a window. No door, no seats, nothing else. We drove past and missed it completely. It is located in between some warehouses or something. They only have a pick up window, so you have to scan the QR code, order online and then they bring it out to you at the window. If you want a better experience, might as well head to the city.

This bakery does delivery and it is extremely quick! The cookies are incredible like all levain cookies! They are rich in flavor and really large. The dark chocolate chelate chip cookie is my favorite.

Delivery review: I've had their cookies before at their Lower Manhattan branch, and I enjoyed them. The cookies were hot and fresh from the oven, chocolatey, gooey, and decadent. Unfortunately, they don't have a store branch in Queens, but instead, they offer a pickup only branch in Astoria. The cookies here were absolutely disappointing. They were quite overcooked from the bottom, resulting in a very dry and crunchy texture with a slightly burnt taste.

The 7 layer cake is a beautiful work of art and the taste marches. Its a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting topped with strawberry and chocolate mouse. Note to the wise, don't make the same mistake I did. Always look at your cake once it is placed in the box. The display cake looked good, then I did not get to inspect the cake before it was placed in the box. Once I arrived home, I saw that the top part of the cake had a dent in the mouse and strawberry covering which made it look messy. It was an embarrassment to present it as such so I improvised by using the mother's day signage to cover up the blip. When I called to speak with the location about it they dealt with it very professionally and were apologetic about the situation and offered a comp. It was such a relief to have customer service go right after experiencing that.

We had low expectations, realizing it was in the middle of Times Square, assuming it would be a tourist trap like most places in Times Square. We were pleasantly surprised! It had really good crispness and delicious filling, which was vanilla forward (used to normal custard). Didn't try anything else except the lobster tail. They have other flavors as well -- we will try the Nutella flavored lobster tail next! AMBIANCE: Super small place (expected) so it's take away only. Would come back if I'm in the area again, although I tend to avoid due to crowds.

It's a simple classic cookie that's crispy on the edges and chewy in the center without being undercooked or gooey. This is not for the people who usually prefer the mound styled cookies that levain has, but as a fellow levain fan, I personally loved this cookie a lot. I especially feel that a lot of cookies have too much chocolate in them, but I'm obsessed with the dough part of chocolate chip cookies. This cookie was a really good balance and it was delicious until the last bite. Gonna be an obsession for a while for sure. Other things to know the staff were pretty friendly and greeting when I walked in. It's a small place. No particular seating area available. Great to walk in grab what you want and leave. I did also try their tomato focaccia which was delicious. The Dubai croissant however, was not it. The filling was dry and the croissant had also dried out, so it was just a flaky chalky mess. But definitely go for the cookies and breads.

It had a delicious nutty flavor which was more pronounced than the typical browned butter nuttiness. The combination of the bitter Valhrona dark chocolate and sweeter milk chocolate chips balanced out the cookie very well. The rainbow cookies were not great - they were just wannabe rainbow cookies. You can't just call a cookie a rainbow cookie because it looks like one. Some things should remain traditional, this is one of them. Traditional rainbow cookies are made with almond paste, jam, and chocolate. There is no almond paste in this cookie which completely threw off the texture. There is a layer of marzipan in these cookies which in my opinion destroyed the balance of the cookie - far too sweet and oddly textured. The cake layer is just regular cake with food coloring instead of the soft/ moist almond frangipane-like cake. The cookies were beautiful, but were very disappointing. Service was quick and friendly.

Huge fan of their presence and think they definitely have a lasting place in the neighborhood. We were going in to the MET for a tour and only had time for something quick. Angelina was the perfect stop except I've been spoiled with the other two locations I've tried that are much larger, appealing and has more variety. This was a pretty hole in the wall location (in comparison to the others) and I wasn't super obsessed with the quality of the doing (again, in comparison to what I already know of Angelina). I'm not sure if they bake everything in house but it does feel more like they get smaller batches of things maybe frozen and then stick them in the oven and fill them. It doesn't taste the freshest, the croissant dough isn't as pillowy, crispy on the outside and full of layers and flakes that I'm regularly used to. I'm always happy eating anything with nutella so that was still a win, wish it was more in line with the regular Angelina experience. Also, they don't have the same amount of things and as extensive of a menu, so just know before you go :) No bathrooms either it seems like!

They have a table to pickup preorders so you don't have to wait in the main line. I ordered a dozen for $39. You can select your assortment. Here's my review in order from the best to the least desirable, according to our group. Vanilla custard- the filling was thick and speckled with vanilla beans. It wasn't too sweet. This was the best according to our group. Strawberry filled- this is most traditional and Breads Bakery does a nice job. The jam is homemade. Pistachio- this doughnut was filled with smooth pistachio cream and was topped with a few pieces of pistachio. Not traditional, but they did a good job. Chocolate- the filling tasted like a semisweet or bittersweet cream/custard. Like the others, it was smooth. The vanilla was more popular among our group and I personally didn't love this doughnut. Mango- this was the one that those in my group felt missed the mark. It wasn't cloyingly sweet, so that was good, but the filling didn't do anything for us either.
