This is a digital cinema now and I have to say that the picture quality is amazing - granted it…read moredoes rely on the film you are watching being filmed in digital. However it is so nice to watch a film without seeing the flickery bits on the tape as it rolls around. The seating is no worse than most other cinemas I've been to, only in brand new cinemas have I ever been privy to luxurious confy seating. The leg room is fine, usually enough to let people past without having to stand up. The big downside is that the concessions are extortionate, you'd need a small mortgage to feed a family of four in there.

Very poor movie theatre, sat in waiting for Harry potter and the layout is all messed up not like a…read moreproper cinema seat layout is all flat not vertical the back "luxury" seats are the worst..I would recommend not to come here very small and a let down..Just before movie starts I go and buy a pepsi, you are expected to serve yourself ice machine didn't work told staff they didn't care; came to drink the pepsi turned out to be completely Flat!No staff present near cinema door, poor lighting and the venue smeltof fish.Watched Harry potter but possibly the most uncomfortable viewing ever experienced seating wise.Come to leaving used the toilets which were utterly vile! pee all over the floor, urine stains on the walls- gladly left after worst experience final note being not a member of staff present to show you way out or on reception. All in all would not go back there if you paid me...very poor empire cinema.

When this was your typical flea pit cinema, it was still a wonderful place to visit. I remember…read morecoming out of seeing Return Of The Jedi pretending I was an ewok, excitedly leaving after watching Marty McFly in Back To The Future and being less than enamored with Flight Of The Navigator - well you get the picture. Then it fell into disrepair and became a place you dared your mates to break into during the late 1980s after school had finished. Now, The Rex (as all good cinemas should be called) has been restored to its former glory. When I say former, think 1930s Art Deco, plush red seating, original projector and art house matinées. The place is a treat and a MUST visit for any cineophile. Prices are reasonable (approx £7 at time of writing) but availability is tough. You need to quick on the phone as it seems every person in Berkhamsted is a paid up member. Before each performance (and they are performances!) you can relax in the lobby where there are books on film to paw over or head down stairs and grab yourself a beer or a glass of wine. It's that sort of place. Do make sure you get to your seat in time for the traditional, and I found informative, pre film introduction from the Manager, James. A proud, curious creature James embodies the character behind this most charming of movie houses.

This is more of an experience than a simple cinema, and seems hugely popular book in advance.

First of all, the staff at this cinema are fantastic. Really nice people who are extremely helpful!…read more This is a small theater and seems fairly indie, but is very affordable and the theaters themselves are very spacious. It's very clean and all seems very new. I had a weird experience with the bathrooms, it got so immensely crowded at one point that women were using the mens room. And that was really uncomfortable. But other than that the bathrooms are clean and nice. The theater is attached to an Italian restaurant called Strada which is 5 star quality as well. So grab your date and take her to Strada and then to the Regal Cinema for a dinner date extravaganza! There is a lot of alcohol to be purchased so drink up during the film and forget the ending so you can watch it again!

The Regal Cinema within Henley was quite a refreshing experience…read more The staff were absolutely lovely. They were helpful, productive, knowledgable, approachable, and funny to boot. The theatre was very clean and comfortable and within walking distance to many restaurants and pubs. The list of alcohol available was impressive, the fairtrade coffee and snacks of White Chocolate-Coated Raspberries, Wasabi Peas, Mixed Sweets or Lemon-Salted Cashews were a nice addition (although there was the typical popcorn and candy) and have yet to see the like elsewhere. Cheaper than London, although most places thankfully are. Adult £8.00 Member £6.00 Concession (Mon-Fri) £6.50 Children £5.00 Family of 4 £21.00 The Regal Cinema is by no means a large venue, but you will find many top billings and various shows that you cannot find anywhere as well as showings dedicated to autistic children and their families.
