I think I'd mostly have to agree with P O. on this one- that the amount you pay for the experience, it's just not worth it in the end. I mean, don't get me wrong, Cineworld is great for the likes of Film choices, a plethora of screen rooms, nice enough atmosphere- cozy, and the large picture with good quality screening. Still, I'm putting a reasonable amount of value on the cost of how much a ticket is; going to the cinema should be something, in my opinion, that doesn't require a lot of molling over because of the price. However, I always say to myself before I go there,'I could either see a film in Cineworld, or do X with my ten euro'. And as of recently I haven't gone to the cinema simply because of how ripped off I know I would feel; I'd not want to give them the satisfaction of my purchase. Cinema Paradiso points out how the relatively poor proletariat could frequent the cinema for recreation, how going to the cinema was a means of unwinding on a near-daily basis. Without being too scrutinizing about it, it's a problem with a lot of cinemas, though I remember when the old UGC sold tickets at more reasonable a price. If I wanted to go to a cinema now, I'd chose the Savoy- it has a theatrical touch to it. Having said that, they both get a 3; the Savoy wouldn't have as much a choice as Cineworld. One last thing. It's the best cinema for children, if you ask me. It's a real family-orientated cinema, or for old friends getting together to see a film. There's that slight intimacy or poignancy about it. read more

I'm leaving on Parnell street just in front of the Cineworld. As a movie addict I couldn't be happier! The super positive point of this cinema is that it offers you the possibility to pay a monthly fee of 21.90€ to get an unlimited card that allows you to watch as many movies as you want during the month! Largest cinema in Dublin city Centre; shows mostly main stream films but there's a few Bollywood and Polish art house films beginning to get a look in. Spread over several floors, with large screens; it's a nice, clean cinema - probably one of the best and a favourite for Dubliners, with a bar and brilliant concessions stands, surrounded by fast food outlets. It's good for a nice night out at the films. read more

21.40€ per month unlimited movies....when its about 11€ a ticket, just going twice in a month will cover the monthly membership. Restrictions are you have to be signed up at least 12 months. But generally cinema is quite big, with about 18 screens on 3 floors. The food is actually not too bad and not as expensive as one would have thought being dublin and a cinema! only prob is they tend to have all the big name movies taking up all the cinemas and the good ones are only on for a week and if you miss them then you miss out on seeing it! read more

The Unlimited card is amazing, I love movies and this offers excellent value (especially if you go all weekends). The place is nice and clean (most of the times, it's a movie theatre and some customers may be messy). The website is very fast and clear and the queue is always short and fast. Employees are really nice and even gave us free 3D glasses. The 4D cinema room felt very luxurious and the effects were great - it's something everyone should splash out for at least once! Make sure you buy any sweets elsewhere though as a decent pick n mix bag ended up being more expensive than popcorn and a drink. read more

Very nice cinema, but also extremly expensive. After 5 PM they add extra 2-3 euros to the ticket plus and additional 15 mins commercials before the movie. So make sure the movie you are catching here is high on the rotten tomato scale or whom ever you take is an awesome person you might want to merry or spend a solid part of your life with. This cinema scores high on the Local-Irish scale, because it is one of the few cinemas with a bar inside that serves you beer. read more

this is a great cinema. central and has a big car park attached. there's lots of screens, clean toilets on every floor, a full bar and a big selection of sweets, popcorn and drinks. one other thing i like about this cinema over others is the staff are always nice. in a lot of cinemas when i walk up to the desk to get my ticket i feel like i want to had the person behind the counter the number for the Samaritan's helpline! they always look utterly depressed and like they'd rather stick their head in a bucket of popcorn then smile at you. but not in here... they smile, they'll chat and they'll give you their opinion on movies if you ask. great staff who make going to the cinema a fun experience, just like it should be. read more

Central, great theaters, gets all the good movies (probably every movie). Staff are nice enough for working there (I've worked in a movie theater before, trust me, it gets a bit though) and there are alcoholic drinks that are not any more than a pub in Dublin. read more

Pretty much your average cinema. The place is clean, seats are comfy and the IMAX theatre is great. No complaints, but nothing exceptional.

The imax screen really brings the movies to life on the big screen and the sound quality is second to none - well worth taking the trip into the city to watch a blockbuster here. read more

Cineworld is a fantastic cinema and offers the best 'going to the movies' experience. It has a sophisticated feel to it when one steps into the lobby and offers a wide range of films. Also, Cineworld has its own bar, a large array of sweets and other foods to enjoy during a movie. Ben and Jerry's also operates a branch from this venue. Unbelievably extortionate prices here, even with a student card. And yet the punters come in their droves - you have't seen queues like this since that holiday to Disneyland when you were eight. The selection of films is good but god almighty, with popcorn and parking thrown in, you're looking at the guts of 20 quid - You could get drunk for that. read more

I will be upfront here, I am crazy about films, and cineworld has to be my favourite cinema in dublin. I like a nice variety of films, yes I probably lean more towards the arthouse crowd but you know I like to see as much different films as I can. Cineworld offers a good variety, and while some movies don't make it out of the IFI i still much prefer cineworld. The cinema is a very comfortable place to spend a few hours and you could easily go see a few films over the day and never leave the building. There is a Bar/Restaurant, a well stacked but over priced refreshment shop... but also there is an eddie rockets, wool shed and century city in the same building. For the full effect get yourself an unlimited card for 20 euro a monthe you can go see as many movies as you want... ive seen over 40 so far this year. read more

Love this cinema always very well kept and the staff are always very helpful. The viewing late at night is a little cheaper we went to the last showing and it only cost €7.90 always a bonus in my eyes more money to spend on sweets. We always have the ice cream when we come I totally love the bubblegum flavour. read more

I like Cineworld. Its a really good spot for meeting my friends for a chat before the film starts. It has a bar which serves some great food and its not expensive. its down fall's: most of the time the staff dont be in the room when the film starts so you can get some messers I was there before and a 2 teenagers were drunk and were throwning chocolate bars during the film. I know it sounds funny but it was annoying!a man asked them to stop he had racist abuse shouted at him. another thing I found annoying was being asked for ID to go see a film... I mean this €20 for unlimited films sounds great, but I went to this cinema (not a regular) and not only was the price outrageous, me and someone else had paid €12.60 each just to go into one of the screen rooms to find the seats covered in chocolate, ripped and not enough leg room, sat through genuinely 25 minutes of trailers and the first 15 minutes of Film and the lights where still on, annoying everyone in the room. so the lights eventually went on but not until someone went out and told one of the staff, and after the film was done the lights wouldn't turn on and everyone had to walk out in the dark. My experience of cineworld was very sloppy, and disappointing, the only reason I she's given it two starts was because... I hear the food is good and he €20 a month subscription should be good, if your local is say it's great but from a tourists perspective, stay away. read more

Disappointed. I have been previously and considered the bar a great place to meet/wait before the film. This evening, it was closed off for a private function. As I had deliberately gone into the cinema early to go to the bar, I was left waiting in the foyer for an hour for the film to start (the bar is in the ticket only area - there was no means for someone to back out upon discovering that Cineworld did not want their custom). This is what cinemas should all be like. I loooove Cineworld. It actually is like it's own world once you step inside; I can't fathom its size, especially when you leave and realize again that you're just on Parnell Street... On one of the few different levels, there's a bar with a jukebox - seems a bit random to be in the middle of a cinema but it always seems to be pretty busy! It also has an arcade and a pub downstairs, so you could literally spend your whole day in here and still be miles away from boredom! The selection of cinema-eats is varied from nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, and also has a huge Sweet Factory! They have all the latest films as soon as they're out, as well as a few indie films or things that are not highly advertised. This year they also hosted the 4th Polish Film Festival 'Kinopolis' - not sure what goes on but it seems interesting and might be something worth checking out next year! i go to cineworld quite a lot. the staff are friendly and helpful. theres a huge carpark around the back of the cinema..i think its €2.70 an hour, which i think is a bit pricey, but giving that we are talking about a city center parking, i suppose its to be expected. my one and only major gripe with cineworld is they dont accept lazercards/credit cards in the cinema its-self...but you can book tickets online via credit card. they have nice comfortable seats and if your a movie buff they are cheaper tickets before 12pm. they also have family tickets that make going out to the cinema with the family less expensive. read more

For anyone who is readying this review and thinking of going to this cinema let me give u a tip, go find another cinema. I decided on a Saturday evening me and my partner would go and watch a movie as he wanted to watch a new movie out I was looking forward to the cinema all evening untilI my first experience 1. The girl who we bought the tickets of on are arrival section 1 on Saturday. The 5th of April brown haired girl was so unpleasant when we arrived at counter my bf my partner was treating me to the cinema and when he showed his student card she would not give him the student rate as I am didn't have a student card so I paid the 11.80 and my partner said that dead on to the lady in regards to no problem at all we don't mind paying a extra few euro and she just turned around to him and said what it a really rude additude and he said it ok I don't mind and she made this face as if to say what ever to us handed us are ticket and said screen 3 so we walked around not knowing we're to get are pop corn or were he'll screen 3 was and what really made my experience bad was when I arrived into the cinema it was so dirty I really don't think it was cleaned before the last showing as there was food all over the floor below us and the seats were just so dirty I had to put my coat on the seat and sit on it that way incase I got anything on my clothes and to top it all off there great offer is 1 popcorn and 1 drink for €9.oo rip off !,,,! And I never tasted come so watered down in my life, and for such a big cimena they have such a small selection of treats and if u like sweet popcorn like myself then brink your own as all they have it tasteless salt popcorn, management have a lot of work to do before this cinema is worth going to will I know for sure I will not return and I will make sure that anyone I know does not make my mistake and waste there money ... read more

Absolutely love this place. A few friends and I have had unlimited cards for over a year now and make regular trips here. By far the best cinema in Ireland, huge screens, spacious seating and a great foyer to relax in. Would definitely recommend going here, Tuesday's are the bargain nights. Excellent hot dogs and popcorn here too. I would highly recommend investing in an unlimited card, €21.90 per month for unlimited movies plus discounts on concession and local shops/restaurants. The cinemas biggest attraction is the breathtaking IMAX screen, the should is so loud you can feel it and picture that beggars belief, even in 3D. The cinema holds unlimited screenings to award card holders and holds midnight screenings for major blockbusters. Occasionally there are screenings of classic movies which is pretty good, usually they have a theme such as, showing the original Mad Max 1 & 2 shortly before the release of Mad Max Fury Road. read more
