    Beautiful Theater

HOLLYWOOD I must admit that I don't go to the movies a lot any more. In fact, this is only the third movie I've been to all year. The first one was a movie premiere with the cast and the second one was a documentary at the Chicago Film Festival. The other day we went to see "Daddy's Home 2" which is actually the only big budget film I've seen all year in a theater. If you haven't seen this movie then it is totally worth it. It might be funnier then the original film which I saw on an airplane. I'm worried about theaters because they might disappear one day. The film industry is on the down swig and it's because we are all streaming and watching our movies at home or airplanes. The top 10 grossing films this year are mostly comic book action films. That's the only movies people want to see on the big screen. Could I have waited for this Will Ferrell comedy on my next flight? Yeah but I'm glad I didn't. The theater was really nice. We hit the first show and actually got discounted tickets for $6.50. The prices in Chicago can get a little crazy. I'm not into paying $22 a ticket for assigned seats. I want to pick my own seat when I walk in. That's the freedom of going to the movies and getting there early. The seats were very comfy and the floor wasn't sticky or full of popcorn. I know it was the first show of the day but it could have been messy in here and it wasn't. The mall here also has a policy where kids under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. It's the first mall in the USA to start such a policy. It cuts down on the parents who just drop off their kids at the mall and leave them unattended all day. Kids that are unsupervised will find a way to get into trouble. There's food here at the theater but I recommend you hit Conecepts which is located directly across from the theater entrance. The cheeseburger is to die for at Conecepts along with their loaded tater tots. Chef Turon is a real chef who cooks real food to order. The theater is basically serving you packaged foods like hot dogs and nachos. I'll pass and get something which is delicious. Why not make it a dinner and a movie kind of night. So if you're looking for the Hollywood experience then this is the movie theater. It's clean and comfy without any annoying unsupervised children running around. I enjoy when people laugh in a movie and aren't disruptive during the viewing. I would definitely come back here again.

Went to this theater to see Venom yesterday. I hadn't been here in years. The movie was really good! The theater, unfortunately, hadn't been cleaned when we walked in. There was pop spilled on the floor & popcorn & candy wrappers still in the seats. I wish they had the comfortable seats like at other theaters. I do like that it's only $5.50 on Tuesdays!

Had a good experience here. Heated seats were super comfortable. Popcorn was fresh and reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.

They have armed security. I asked why. I was told on busy days they have a person with a gun, just in case something happens. Interesting.

I usually ADORE this location, but this situation caused a lot of trouble. (see bottom of review for summary/how I wish it was handled. Today (Thursday, Dec 4th), I was trying to purchase tickets to see the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 movie for tomorrow (Dec 5) at 7:20pm for me, my boyfriend and our two other friends to go watch. Unfortunately, right as I had purchased my tickets, the website seemed to have glitched. My screen showed "An error has occurred. Please try again." to which I was originally fine with trying to purchase again, but that was until I saw a notification from my apple wallet app that it had charged my card. I searched my email, kendall account, and even my junk mail. No tickets were popping up, so I called Kendall. Originally the girl I spoke to on the phone was nice and understanding, and could probably smell my anxiety through the phone, as I hate confrontation. She explains that there are no seats reserved under my name for that showing whatsoever, and that she'll contact her manager to see if there's anything that they can do besides me just getting a refund within 3-5 business days. (aka, without having to repurchase anything due to how im a broke high school student who can't afford to buy a second set of tickets). I was put on hold, which was no problem as I don't mind the music that was being played. The manager picks up and I re-explain the entire situation. The manager proceeds to tell me that "That usually happens when theres too many people on the website, you'll have to wait for a refund." Her tone was flat, harsh, and frustrated, and I don't necessarily blame her! Work is stressful and I understand if it's been a long day. What I don't understand is why the fact that the website is glitchy isn't stated anywhere during your checkout process, or on the website at all really. I get it's a technical error, less human error, however I just think they can be smarter with ensuring their customers have a seamless experience on the website without having to call and ask what happened. Because lets be honest, nobody likes phone calls. I'm not necessarily upset at anyone, more so frustrated with the whole situation. My only wish is that: a) I got a refund immediately so I could re-purchase or get the tickets I originally bought given to me b) Gotten the names of the two workers I spoke to on the phone. One being a what I'm assuming front desk worker, and the other being the manager who was working 12/4/2025 @ 10pm. This was a lengthy review, however I just wanted to ensure people who purchase on the website are aware of the glitchy/crashing thats very common apparently.

After an hour of the movie, I knew that it was so cold I wouldn't be able to make it. I really didn't want to have to come back to the theater to see the rest of the movie, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to stay in the theater for so long because it was so cold. I googled the movie and I saw that I had an hour and 40 minutes left, so I went outside and I complained to the manager and I had him give me a free pass for another day so I would be able to dress much warmer and see the rest, maybe bring a blanket as well. Heated seat did not really do anything to help my comfort. I Will probably come back This upcoming Sunday around 1:00 p.m to see the rest, But this time I will dress much warmer. The lobby between the entrance and where the movie was was about 20 to 30° warmer than inside where the movie was being played So that was kind of misleading. I also have a complaint about the ability to maneuver inside the theater. I am disabled and I have to have a walker with me most times, and unlike meadowview, Paramount does not have buttons that open and close the door for handicapped individuals. This is the first time I've been to this theater by myself in probably about 10 years and I am not coming back to this theater by myself again because I don't have someone to open the door for me.

They have about 16 screens and host 3D and standard format options. All chairs have a recliner capabilities and are leather. The concessions area also allows you to order food to deliver to your theatre/seat while watching the movie. The rows are also unnecessarily widely spaced so though not that many rows back was quite far from the screen, which wasn't all that big to begin with. Also, unlike other food-serving theaters, there was no surface on which to set the food. At all. Further, although we ordered 20 minutes before showtime and it wasn't packed, we didn't receive our food until at least 20 minutes info the movie, and it was missing dipping sauces (necessary for the food) so I had fi run out in the middle of the movie to get them. The food was even more crazy expensive than expected Because it would have been like $50 for us each to get something, we split the ridiculously expensive apps platter. I will say it was quite a generous serving size, enough for 2, but it wasn't piping hot by the time we got it & had to run out for missing sauces. Of course beverages were Alsó prohibitively expensive. Would rather have had the food quickly, hot, and before the movie was really underway so we could concentrate on the film. Better yet, we would have liked fi order & eat outside the auditorium but that isn't an option there like at other food-focused theaters. Besides all that, I guess it was okay. Was clean. Wouldn't go again.
