Currently sitting at 3:42pm, waiting for a 3:30pm movie to start. Watching endless commercials (not even the trailers!)- feels ridiculous. Popcorn is good, seats comfortable, clean theatre, but really reconsidering returning based on the insane amount of time spent on regular commercials past the advertised start movie time. Again, I have no problem with trailers starting at the movie start time, but to sit through countless commercials and then trailers and then finally your movie.... Went from a stellar review to 2. Called at least 20 times between Friday and Saturday to inquire why the tickets for the 7:30 pm showings of Kong vs Godzilla were $19.15 and all the other times before (6:50pm) and after (8:10 and 9:00 pm) were $15.19 per ticket. No one would pick up the phone and the system would just automatically disconnect the call. I wanted to know if this was an error or was this pricing purposely set different for that time only each day. Mind you the ticket prices at this theater are the mist expensive of all the theaters in the several surrounding areas so $4 more per ticket to an already extremely super high prices are just BS. And than not to have someone available to talk to is even more ridiculous. These people should be glad they even gave any customers supporting this theater in the first place with their unreasonably super high prices and filthy theater. When they close down they will get what they deserve. Well start going g to theaters that are more competitive and reasonable in prices and actually keep their theaters and bathrooms clean. Shame on you regal and regal corporate. This used to be an awesome theater we always loved to come to. This is my favorite theater (for convenience) as it is closest to me. Today, I came for a 4:15PM screening and surprisingly the lobby (which can use an upgrade), the men's room and theater 10 were very clean. They either hired more cleaning staff or it was still too early, as normally I see napkins and popcorn on the floor and the concession counters would be messy. I lined up at the concession to get soda and hotdog, only to be told when I finally got there that that line was for purchasing tickets only. There should have been a signage of some kind. Their food and drinks here are expensive. The price for of a medium drink and a regular hot dog was $12.41, about the price of a movie ticket. However, this theater has leather recliner seats that are wide and comfy, so don't come here to watch a movie if you're tired and sleepy as you will easily doze off. read more

I don't go to movie theaters often, but 'tis the season... for missing my mom's birthday. She had a simple request: To go see a movie with me. Okay. I can do that. I guess. Me: Mom, what movie to you want to see? Mom: Catching Fire. Me: Okayyy... what's it about? Mom: It's one of those Hungry Games movies. Me: No. Mom: But it's-- Me: I'm sorry, but no. I love you and all, but I can't sit through that. I have a goal, and that goal is to be able to stare blankly and blink both slowly and confusedly when ever anyone brings up or references Hunger Games. Soooo we compromised and saw 'Frozen'. Something she still wanted to see, and something I felt I could tolerate based on Richard Roeper's rave review for the flick on Good Morning America... mind you, that was before I put two and two together that Disney and ABC are in bed together so of course he's going to have nothing but praise when it involves the parent company that signs his paycheck, but the movie was tolerable and at times, dare I say fun. We came to this theater because it had the best show times up against the rest of our day and proximity to our current location. Funny thing is, I used to live around here and I never once went to this theater... though I think it's closed and been reincarnated through several different theater companies over past 10 years. Currently, it's Regal Cinema. The place isn't huge, but that's kind of nice sometimes. I was expecting it to be busier, given that it was Black Friday, but it was surprisingly tame... until about 5 minutes before our movie started because that's when a rush of like 20 families with yelling parents and screaming kids who don't listen came in. Our theater was tiny. Like, there were more floor seats than stadium (not good unless you like straining your neck), and the tight size of the theater really took away from the whole 'big screen' feeling. Not that you need it for a movie like 'Frozen', but had I seen something like 'Gravity' on that screen, I'd have been pissed. There was virtually no line to wait in to purchase tickets and the staff were all really sweet. As I sat in our theater and looked around, mind you we arrived 25 minutes early on accident, I saw spilled popcorn tubs all over the floor and it pretty obviously hadn't been cleaned from the showing before ours. Tickets for an evening flick were "only $10," which apparently is a decent going rate for movies these days and while I didn't partake in any concessions (which I'm sure are wholly over-priced), that popcorn smelled so.freaking.good. I think if I'm back, it'll be for a daytime show so I can try to score that mini theater all to myself. read more

This theater has gone through several different companies, this one has the priciest tickets but the seats are all recliner and very comfortable. Concessions don't have a huge variety and popcorn isn't the best. We prefer to go for the matinees and booking online is convenient and great as we get to pick our seats too. Staff is welcoming, including the teenagers! They don't allow passes on newer movies which is a shame but other than that we have a good time the times we do go. read more

Great theater for the value! I remembered coming here back when it was still Showplace and stadium seating was a new thing. Although the lobby is unchanged, the seating has been upgraded to the recliner seats. You'll need to book your seats online in advance or run the risk of arriving to a sold out show or to crappy seats up front. The fandango app was a little glitchy when I was trying to book tickets for Crazy Rich Asians but the Regal website came to the rescue and purchasing tickets there was a breeze. read more

I have to say that traditional movie theaters where you buy a ticket at a counter, sit in an upright seat and purchase expensive snacks is a thing of the past. Either offer dinner and a movie simultaneously or very comfy reclining seats, and you'll get my business! I've been to probably a half dozen movies at this theater over the past year or so, and I don't think I could get my son's to go anywhere else. The seats are comfortable and it is nice to stretch out and not to have to stand up to allow people back and forth dozens of times before, during and after a movie. Good quality sounds, relatively clean, and the concession stand is o.k. Pre-selecting seats costs more, but it is nice to know you'll likely sit in an optimal spot once you arrive and skip the lines. read more

This is my hometown movie theater, and I've been going here for as long as I can remember -- I saw my first R-rated movie here as a 14-year-old (my friend's mom had to come in with us to give her approval... what a time), I stood in line at midnight here for the Dark Knight and all Twilight premieres (it was the thing to do!), and I've gone here every Christmas break with my family for the last few years to see whichever new Star Wars movie has come out. I remember when it was Showplace 12! If you would've asked me to review this place years ago, the jaded, teenage version of myself would've probably given it 1 or 2 stars, but since Regal has updated the seats in the theater, the whole place just feels more ritzy. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the fanciest theater I've ever been to, and I don't think the bathrooms have been updated since before my first visit here over 15 years ago, but there's a certain comfort within the walls of Regal Cinemas. The sound system is great, the reclining seats are a dream, and the little desk tables attached to each seat really help if you need to place your purse or phone somewhere during the movie. The concession stand is great and they sell all the classics like popcorn, soda, and candy, though they're overpriced -- but that's just movie theaters for you. If you need to see a movie, Regal Cinemas will do just the trick. read more

This is our favorite theatre. We drive all the way from Minooka to Bolingbrook just to come to this theatre! The recliner chairs are super comfortable and in good shape. I like that you get to pick your seats so you don't have to get there super early or wait in lines. The concessions always have a lot of people working and never have long lines. Bathrooms are mostly always decently clean. I like the regal crown club and we accumulate points and get deals and free concessions. Staff is friendly and efficient. read more

Usually my husband and I go to Regal Cantera in Warrenville but today we decided to come to this theatre. For two adult matinee tickets it's 25.00$, more expensive than Regal Cantera but that's not the big deal here. The big deal is that the theatre we are in is absolutely filthy. There is candy, popcorn and loose change in our recliner seats. Every recliner seat also has a table top and you can tell those haven't been wiped down in days, maybe years. I feel dirty and the movie hasn't even started. If you don't live too far from Naperville/Warrenville I highly recommend just going to Regal Cantera. Horrible!!! $110 spent on dinner and a movie at this location for a family of 4 and I feel disgusted about it! I am so heated I can't concentrate on movie Baby Boss (I am writing this review mid movie). To be fair, first the pros: 1) You can buy your tickets online through Fandango and choose your seats ahead of time. 2) The reclining chairs are large and comfortable once you sweep away the popcorn that was left from the movie goers of the previous show. The negatives and the reason we will never be back! 1) Management...horrible! David Surmawski and Clayton Todd. They were standing around in suits laughing and joking with the front ticket staff and one of them was doing what appeared to be pretend karate moves. If they had any dignity in the business they are responsible for, they'd be pitching in trying to help keep the theater in respectable condition. 2) The place is very dirty, I've been to many many movie theaters and this place is extremely dirty for a movie theater! It looks like the cleaning crew went on strike weeks ago. I spoke to David S about the cleanliness and service and he blew me off in a very condescending manner. 3) The employees are not required by management to be professional or friendly. The employee who brought us our food used our receipt to wipe off our table and then dropped it on the floor. What could fix this place?! At the concession there was a lady taking care of people and didn't seem she was happy to be working, not sure but I think she was a manager too. Like anything else, there's pros and cons to everything. Lately there is a craze for high quality "Gourmet" movie theaters. Regal is doing a good job moving in that direction, but I think they still have some things to work on. Yes, the comfortable reclining leather seats are great. We probably pay a little more for that, but you can't really complain about not being comfortable while watching. But that's only half the equation. Most people buy food and drinks for the movie....and this is where I think they are lacking. Most of the items are your typical junk crap....popcorn, nachos, etc. They have a small menu with "gourmet" items, but the kids working there don't seem like they've been trained on them or even know much about them at all. I ordered their gourmet pretzel. The kid never told me anything....how long it would take or that they cook it somewhere else. After waiting about 10 minutes I had to remind him of my order. They have improved! The seats are so cozy and you have SOOO MUCH leg room. You can sit 'indian style' and still have room to spare. Everyone basically gets their own recliners and you don't have to worry about sharing arm handles. The floors weren't sticky and everything seemed extra clean (didn't go to the restrooms though). I'm not sure if it's ALL the time, but for sure when they are busy they assign seats. So you should watch out for that when you plan on just walking in to a newly released popular movies. My sister bought the pretzel bread and it was fresh enough for her to finish it. I took a bite but didn't like it (I'm picky!). I'll definitely return! read more

All was going well, and I was building a better relationship with this theater due to my Kerasotes $5 movie club card. I could disregard the somewhat dirty floors and surly service. But no sooner did I start enjoying it, AMC bought them out. AMC can go suck it! They took away my $5 privileges, and even though you now can catch an early matinee during the week for $4.75, it still stinks. Now I can't enjoy a weekend movie for a discounted rate. read more

I have never been here so I don't know what it was like before the renovation but my boyfriend said it wasn't very nice before (which is why we never went to this extremely convenient location) but now it really is a nice theater. Assigned seats which I personally love, makes it nice to know I have a seat waiting for me. Also, the recliners are becoming more of a standard I've noticed and it really is fantastic. So comfortable to be able to put your feet up and watch a movie like at home! The only complaint I had was the movie was so loud! We noticed during the previews that it was just piercing our ears. I did go ask someone to turn it down, I don't know if they actually did because I didn't see anyone walk in but the movie itself seemed to be more tolerable. So maybe it was just previews or maybe they really did listen and turned it down a bit. Customer service was good too. We got popcorn and the girl was very pleasant. She also happened to be the same person I complained too about the volume and she got her manager for me. Overall good experience here. read more

I've been coming here since they opened it, last century. It's aged relatively well. It irks me when you can't apply your own butter sauce to the popcorn. This is one of those places that doesn't allow you that luxury. They also don't have salt shakers out. For a popcorn addict such as myself, this is unthinkable. Otherwise, the facilities are fine. In other words it was playing in theater 12 I want to know which is the odd seat there were two people last time we didn't realize that the odd seat was there and ended up sitting apart. I used to go to Showplace 12 all the time and I love how they re did the theatre. I am a big fan! The food and drinks are obviously over priced as it is a movie theatre. You can't find anything cheap here lol. However everything I have ordered is pretty standard movie food. Decent. This review will mostly be about the actual theatre. This is a theatre where you pre select your seats. I would recommend looking online beforehand so you aren't stuck with crappy seats. As my boyfriend and I got stuck with a bad spot. However the couches/seats made up for it. The couches are kind of separated by twos which I love! Perfect for date night ;). The seats are soo comfy and again great for going with a date. I like that the couch arm goes up so it can be like a big comfy leather couch for you and your boo. The floors are wooden which really adds class in my opinion. Saw Dune tonight. Upon arriving we tried to use the touch screen at the front desk to purchase tickets and it was broken, so the young man offered to help us at the concession stand. We purchased our tickets and snacks, however did not get a receipt or movie stub. Once I realized I requested the staff to reprint one for me, they said they would ask their manager but did not. They didn't even attempt to. They then told me without consulting their manager that it was not possible to give me a receipt and refused to give me one. Pretty sure that's illegal! Eventhough i really like this movie theater's new setup, I still will rarely come to this movie theater, because they check your purse which is a no no no for me. I like to sneak my candy, and drink beverages inside the movie theater. Now that they are checking your items i might as well continue to support Ipic, and Hollywood blv. I don't mind spending money on popcorn if i have a couple or more people around me, but if it's just me and my husband $5.00 & more for some candy is too high for me. So since i like to eat candy while watching movies why come here when ill pay the same price at Hollywood for a meal? Cheaper matinee tickets than at the Kerasotes on Rte 59 ($4.50), even on the opening day of a show. The down side today was crackly sound; every so often during the film it sounded like a volcano made of Rice Krispies was erupting somewhere off-camera. Also, I have been cursed during several movies here to sit near an older woman who feels the need to comment LOUDLY à la Mystery Science Theater 3000 throughout the film (and I swear to god it's been the SAME PERSON every time! Are you stalking me, MST3K Lady?) Unlike the amusing antics of Mike and/or Joel and 'bots on MST3K, however, this woman (in today's instance during the matinee showing of "Whip It") felt the need to say inane things like "Oh, is she hurt?" & "What is she going to do now?" I finally unleashed a "SHHHHH!" on her (which worked for about 5 minutes); this kind of person needs to just wait for the DVD, but my ire at Kerasotes in this instance stems from the fact that before the show they have (as part of their "turn off your cell phone" warning) the caution not to talk or kick chairs, because "WE ARE ALWAYS NEARBY." If they were really always nearby and observing this disruptive crap, they'd do something about it. As it is, don't make empty threats if you don't have the muscle to follow through. Anyway, not a fancy theater, and lower priced than the Naperville counterparts, but watch out for Chatty Cathys! read more
