This last time I went to see the Odyssey I had to get up from my seat and request another popcorn because the butter was sooooo stale. I couldn't eat it. I told the girl at the counter and to check on it. Her response was so nonchalant and not caring, it was ridiculous. Unbelievable. The Icee use to be really good, but it was unflavorable and melted so quickly. The specific theater where the movie was playing had a smell. Cmon folks, don't let a good thing go to ruin. This is an incredibly dated and disappointing theater. They claim on their website to have "reclining seats," but they are really only slightly "rocking" (think airplane seat). This is not the typical recliner (with foot rests) that you'd expect in a modern theater. The line for ordering concessions was disorganized and they failed to properly route guests between the Stubs Premiere line and the standard line - creating a situation where our line stalled. The concession area was also messy and unclean. In a few spots, they had plywood covering parts of the counter, so perhaps they were making some renovations. Ultimately, we decided not to watch the 3-hour movie (Odyssey) in their theater and I returned to the lobby to share my concerns. When I engaged with a manager, they didn't seem to care. When I mentioned the dated seats, the manager indicated that they just aren't given money for these types of improvements. They didn't offer any refund or to do anything to try to rectify the situation. I won't be returning to this theater and would definitely not recommend it to others. Going to the movies should be special and this theater is not the place to truly enjoy a movie. AMC's latest quarter indicated total attendance falling nearly 10% - with experiences like this it's no wonder movie theater attendance continues to decline. --- In reading the other reviews, our experience seems consistent with others'. Even where there was a manager response indicating that they would try and resolve the issue, nothing seems to have happened in months/years. Yesterday, I attended the 8:00 PM Toy's story 5 showing at AMC Showplace Naperville and had a disappointing experience at the concession stand. Most of the staff were very friendly, including Manager Darryl, who was helpful and professional. However, the young lady assisting me at the concession stand was rude and dismissive throughout our interaction. When I asked about the summer special that includes a small popcorn and drink, she immediately told me it was not available. After I requested that she check with a manager, Darryl confirmed that the special was in fact available. Later, when I asked about jalapeños, she responded with attitude and was unwilling to provide helpful customer service. When I expressed my concerns and asked for her name, she refused to apologize and stated that she did not know me. All this in front of her manager Darryl. As someone with over 20 years of management experience in retail and now an elementary school teacher, I understand the importance of treating customers with respect. Unfortunately, this interaction negatively affected my movie experience. I hope this employee receives additional customer service training so that future guests are treated with the courtesy and professionalism they deserve. Thank you for your time and attention. I'm an avid moviegoer and truly enjoy the full theater experience. While streaming at home has its perks, nothing compares to watching a movie on the big screen. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed with this theater's condition. Although the XL, IMAX, and Dolby theaters have been updated, the rest of the auditoriums are outdated, dirty, and uncomfortable. The older seating is worn out and lacks the modern leather reclining chairs that many nearby theaters now offer. Competing theaters have upgraded their spaces with cleaner facilities, heated and cooled recliners, and other features that enhance the overall experience. This location risks losing loyal customers and revenue if it doesn't invest in improvements. At the very least, regular cleaning, maintenance, and restroom upkeep should be prioritized. However, an overall renovation is long overdue. I hope management will consider making much-needed updates to bring moviegoers back and restore this theater's appeal. read more

Went to see "Wicked" today at 12:15 p.m. There were 8 people in the concession line with only 1 person behind the counter. Finally, another person came out to help. Also, the air conditioning was on in the theatre and 2 of us tried to find someone to tell. I had high hopes when I was walking in because this whole theater was so big and looked incredibly nice from the outside. There are self-checkout kiosks right when you enter so you can either purchase your tickets there or have the employee scan them if you pre-bought! We didn't have tickets so we just bought them there and it was really quick and easy. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the seats and cleanliness of the theater. I don't know if this goes for all the theaters inside this AMC, but the theater I went to (theater 10) had old velvet seats that were surrounded by popcorn spills almost every few seats. They were uncomfortable and I just didn't feel clean/comfy at all. We moved over 2 seats from our original selected seats because there was a big popcorn spill on the ground in front of them. The bathrooms, too, were very outdated and out of TP in a lot of stalls. I will say it is in a great location and has ample parking. I wouldn't come here again if all the theaters had those seats and messes, but who knows maybe that was the only bad theater! read more

Soda machines are often broken & ice empty on the one machine that works. I don't think I've had hot popcorn served to me in years. Staff is meh, seems like no training on customer service. If you want to speak to a manager, your best bet is to go around back where they spend most of their time smoking, drinking coffee & talking about cars. This is a really bad AMC location. I'm not sure how the AMC at NAPERVILLE only has 2 auditoriums with reclining seating... while the 3 other amcs that at 30+ min away have reclining seating in every auditorium... like my luck this is the closest one but have started going to the other ones for the more comfortable seating. read more

To be honest, I am an avid movie goer and I'm OK with going to the budgeted, old school, not fancy theaters.... but, when I pay the premium price for a movie, I expect to have the premium Amenities in that theater. 1) Only two computers working to buy tickets, and that was the only way to buy tickets. Very inefficient and unfriendly. 2) Theater was way too cold. 3) We had to sit through 40 minutes of commercials and coming attractions till the movie was at last started. Start time posted 12:20, actual start time 12:50. 4) They turned on the lights five minutes before the movie ended, actual movie not just the closing credits. 5) Trash cans located outside of movie, at Kendall 11 they are inside the theater right at the exit. Plus Kendall has actual ushers that wait by the aisle and offer you a mint on the way out. Kendall 11 will be my go to theater from here on out. read more

Naperville 16 is my favorite AMC location in the area. It's a bit smaller than the theaters in Oakbrook, but I enjoy that it's less crowded and easier to get to and park at. Never has a very long line for concessions. The entire theater itself is much cleaner than any other AMC I've been to and the staff is always friendly here. A few things to note are that this location does not have a bar, the arcade area tends to be closed fairly earlier (most times I come out of a movie around 8-9pm, the machines are all shut off), and not all of the theaters have recliner seats. The A-list membership is well worth it if you see at least 1-2 movies a month. Since I have the membership, I almost always see movies in the Dolby theater - which does have the nice recliner seats. The seats in the regular theaters and the IMAX are still clean, fairly new, and comfortable. I do hope they update them to recliners at some point though. read more

Decent AMC location but could use a little shaping up. A couple of the ticket kiosks were out of order or not working properly which slowed the eTicket process a bit. After ordering food from the concession stand, we waited 15 minutes for it...that seems a bit excessive. They have Coke Freestyle machines which is always fun if you drink pop. Movie theaters are kind of sad. Sound and picture quality is great! But the seats need to be updated. They don't lean back even a little bit which can be a bit uncomfortable. The cup holders on the seats don't have bottoms so anything you set there falls straight through! What's the point. There is a huge parking lot with tons of food options nearby! Best thing (and surprise) about this movie theater: Chicken Waffle Sandwich. I ordered this thinking it sounded gimmicky and fun so why not?! But it seriously ended up being beyond delicious! No sauce even needed plus you can get it in a meal deal with curly fries and a warm chocolate chip cookie. Pretty sure it was a perfect movie theater meal! read more

We saw Oppenheimer in theater 2. Which is right next to Dolby and the heavy sounds of Dolby were leaking into our movie house so loud that it totally ruined our Oppenheimer movie. I challange the managers there to sit in Oppenheimer show while the Dolby show is going on and tell me that they could hear the Oppenheimer score and nothing else. Plus their refund policy for online booking sucks away the service fee and the managers Bree(ignored us) and Kyle(super rude, angry, unreasonable) were no help in the matter. Showed up for a 6:05 showing at 5:57 to find they were still cleaning the auditorium. A worker came out of the auditorium, walked away and said nothing. It's 6:00 on the dot at that point and people start walking in. The auditorium is filthy, with popcorn all over and the floors were disgustingly sticky. 6:05 comes and goes, the lights are on, and nothing on the screen (no commercials, trailers, anything). Had a wide selection of food, and we didn't pre plan anything but it only took two minutes for me and my family to be in our seats. On the way though, we came by the concession stand and balked at the prices. Regular popcorn, just regular, and SMALL, was about ten dollars. TEN. So I only got a small Dippin Dots that lasted only fifteen minutes through the movie. Our seats weren't clean either, and I had to brush off some popcorn on it. Everything else was fine though. I've seen all the reviews and I was hesitant to go to this AMC. However, I went anyway. I bought my ticket using the AMC APP along with a large popcorn and drink. Everything went smooth. I walked right in and they scanned the bar code. I received a text that my drink and popcorn would be available at 12:15pm and it was waiting for me at that exact time. I used the same bar code. They had it waiting under my name. The theater and seats were great. It wasn't dirty. Clean and comfortable. I do highly recommend giving this theater a try.
