This is the best movie theater in Kane County. It's new and clean. The people that work there are nice and it is organized. The high roller room is a fun place to rent out for a party as well. The only negative is getting to the parking lot from Randall road. read more

Unfortunately, for the final two weeks of this year I've suffered from a sprain ankle and a sinus infection. So I've been pretty bedridden. However, the other day I was feeling much better and mustered up the energy to finally see Wicked For Good. I always drive past this theatre when I'm running errands, and it's actually the closest theatre to my house. So, I figured it was time to test this place out. I came without purchasing a ticket in advance. First thing I like about this theatre is you can purchase your ticket on the kiosk. You select your movie, then you select what type of seat you want- a standard recliner or a cuddlier seat. It was just me so I selected the recliner which was $7.95. I do like the idea of the cuddlier sofa though, that's super cute for couples. However, when I tried to pick where I wanted to sit only one seat was available to book. Which was very surprising to me because the theater wasn't that full and the movie has been out for months now. Thinking it was a glitch of the kiosk, I went to the counter to purchase tickets. Then I saw the screen where I could pick my seat and again there was only one seat I could pick. So I picked that seat thinking the theater wasn't going to be jammed packed (spoiler it wasn't). So, that's the only thing I was confused about. Why were seats block off when the theater wasn't full. Other than this mishap I really enjoyed my experience here. Luckily my seat ended up being a decent seat and it was exceptionally comfortable. There was a red button you could push which I assumed was a seat warmer, I pushed it but I didn't notice any changes in the temperature of my seat. For food I got a medium sprite and a large popcorn. It costs me about $18. Which is typical. I will say next time I'll order a medium popcorn, the large was so big I wasn't able to finish it before the movie was over! All in all this is a very solid theater. Very friendly employees, seats are comfortable and clean, oh and I forgot to mention they have a bar. So that's pretty cool. Very, very nice theater! A friend mentioned that it was remodeled recently. We saw KPDH in theaters with our kids. When I purchased the tickets on fandango I was confused because it had seating options for recliners, cuddles and 'adult' seating. This was kind of confusing I had children with me. They have a wood fire grill pizza oven which is next level. The bar looked nice, great recliner seats, they even had a piano with a Bluetooth option. Never seen that before was awesome. Service was great! I don't live in Batavia but I would drive out of my way to come back. read more

I like this theater. It's got a full bar and good pizza, including the other concessions that you can find in a theater. Easy to reserve online and I was able to get 14 recliner reserved seats for the new Avatar movie on New Years Day. Although nobody checked our tickets so I guess we could've got in for free? The movie screen and sound was excellent. The recliners were comfortable. Everything was clean including the bathrooms. Nice theater. read more

Came New Year's Day for a 9am show. My family of 14 had the entire theater #2 to ourselves. It was too early for concessions, so my review is purely for the movie experience. The reclining seats were comfortable which was important since Avatar was almost 3 hours, the sound and screen was what you would expect. read more

Just took my first trip to this newish reopened location- and it is much better than the previous Randall 16 Imax. Great comfy seats in the theaters, lots of food and snack options (including Chicago style popcorn), cocktails (many themed to movies), and 1 star just for the Coke freestyle machine alone. There are other things to do here besides see movies, but I'll likely still be a movie only gal. This location is a drive for me- so will probably only go to see something special on their incredible big screen or if I am meeting someone from up this way. Really like this place but unfortunately our last experience there a few days ago was not good. For some reason the Spider-Man movie decided to crap out during the last 30 minutes in the form of picture stutter. The staff was notified and were able to stop the movie after a while. They were also able to rewind the movie. The experience was already a bummer at this point but at least they tried to fix it. The movie continued to play fine but the it decided to do the same thing after some minutes. The staff was nowhere to be seen and after a few folks attempted to find someone, it turned out that they were not going to rewind it anymore and did absolutely nothing to try and fix it. They provided refunds (minus convenience fees and money spent on food/drinks). Nothing was properly addressed and the audience was left without instruction on how to proceed. Ended up going somewhere else to rewatch the movie. It was a bummer since we had pre-ordered the tickets way ahead of time and had been looking forward to watching this at Emagine in Super EMX. Left a bad taste to say the least. Not sure we'll be back for a big movie release anytime soon. read more

My first visit, Flashback Cinema featuring Blazing Saddles. Surprised that the film next to our cinema was so loud and easy to hear in our cinema #11. Only four rows in this cinema. D4 didn't recline but luckily D3 was available. Didn't feel the heated seat either. Got ticket online for $8.75. Tickets available in lobby to save the service fee. There was about 20 minutes of previews added to the start time. read more

Absolutely perfect theater. A bit chilly during the summer so bring a blanket. We spent 12+ hours watching the entire lord of the rings trilogy (extended edition) on the big screen and it was an absolutely incredible moment. I'll go back anytime to see all their retro classics on screen, such a great reminder of what theatre was 20 years ago. Went out of my way to see Project Hail Mary here knowing it would be the best experience in the area. Could not recommend more! read more

Imagine in Batavia is amazing! They have the largest screen in Illinois, and it's absolutely huge--but surprisingly enjoyable to watch on. The lobby is classy and elegant, complete with a grand piano that adds a touch of sophistication. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a top-notch movie-going spot--I'll be coming back for sure! read more

Come to this location often and always very clean. Only complaint is one time I was here, the kid up front was very rude and demanded to see my purse. Had he asked nicely about it, it would have been fine. But I think having a teenage boy be rude about it and apologize to my husband and not myself about it was very innapropriate. Other than that customer service has been great! Including today when Thomas took our concession order! Very pleasant and friendly! I got the Nachos with chicken. Surprised it didn't come with any type of sauce - but it didn't. Theater is always clean, comfortable and enjoyable! It seems to be more of an upscale theater. Emagine appreciates teachers in July, but apparently only on the little screens. All month I've been allowed to see my free movie on the bigger screen. And I am really grateful for that. Not today apparently. So, instead of letting me see a movie in the nearly empty super emx theater this afternoon for free and getting nearly $20 in concession sales from me, I came back that evening to watch an $11 movie for free on your little screen and walked right past your expensive concessions stand. Took my grandson to see Despicable 4. 2 tickets $29 No upfront staff, just a bartender at 1:00 pm. She said, "go on in, since you bought tickets online" - never asked to see it! The volume was so loud, we needed to cover our ears, so loud that it was difficult to follow the storyline! Outside of being ridiculously expensive, we ordered 1 small popcorn, 2 small drinks, pretzel bites, which were burnt on both sides! They were bought to us, (oh how fancy) and with the dark room, I didn't notice until I ate one, yuk-- $33 All I'm saying, it's all shiny and new, but will not go back, not worth it. Went to this theater on Tuesday, March 5th to see the afternoon showing of Dune 2. This was our first time here since the theater was remolded. All I can say was "outstanding job" the interior was beautiful, and clean, the bathrooms (both women's & mens) were spotless. The carpeting was also spotless and free of any popcorn debris. The staff was attentive and accommodating. The giant screen and sound system was amazing!!! Even though this theater is a bit farther than another theater in our town, it's well worth the trip. read more

The Super EMX theater is big but is now ear piercing loud after a sound system update. Also this theater broke down twice on us on two separate occasions. The second time we had to leave because they could not get the movie to play. To be fair, they gave us remit passes but the problem with these passes was that there were restrictions to them. Really Emagine? You kick us out, waste all our time, make me drive back to the theater to use these passes only to be told I now cannot use these passes for the one movie we wanted to see? This is NOT acceptable. Extremely disappointed as this went on deaf ears to senior management. read more

Went to watch Oppenheimer on this new EMAX theater at the 8:30pm Saturday showing. The customer service is really nice and helpful and getting into the theater is very smooth because you just walk straight the to seat you booked and no need to wait in line for the ticket collector/ scanner. If you want snacks from the concessions, go early and line up to order. The line seemed long and slow to move. I saw people have food delivered to their seat during the movie that sounds like a convenient option. EMAX screen was indeed massive, but unfortunately the resolution not as good as the IMAX 70mm and it was quite obvious. The sound was pretty good... Almost on par with Dolby Atmos. The recliner seats were very clean, comfortable and heated! I recommend bringing a throw or a jacket as the A/C was quite strong. Only real complaint was the line to get out of the parking lot was a bit of a hot mess as there was only one lane to get out and tons of cars trying to exit the theater. This is a wonderful theater in Batavia, but I wouldn't drive too far out here for a movie. read more

The seats are incredibly comfortable and there's plenty of space. The only disappointment was the popcorn wasn't as fresh and as good as some other places I've been to, but the deal for the large drink and popcorn was pretty reasonable compared to a lot of other local theaters! Also great customer service with everyone I interacted with who worked at the theater. read more

Christy was unbelievably rude. She barked at my group as we were politely ordering our drinks. She was busy and clearly having a bad night, but took our order and never delivered to us. Clearly she was taking it out on us. Completely ridiculous and I will not return. Philip blew us off and said it was an "accident" as if someone acting that way is okay. read more

Went here recently. Not a fan. Not a bad experience but just don't like the lay out. As you walk in, very unclear where to go if you purchased tickets ahead of time and online. Waited in line at the concession stand to find out I waited in the wrong line. I mean it's great that there is a separate line but where is the signage? Candy selection is wasn't good and also not displayed well. I'm equal distant between charles town and this place and I have no reason to choose Emagine over Charlestown. One thing I like about is the coke free style machine. read more

GREAT theater with some things that could be changed. The concessions lines were not really setup well and just confusing. The theater itself was very clean as I tend to leave a lil' mess. HUGE screen EMX is so much fun and almost just as good as watching it in 4D!!! I probably won't watch a movie in a theater unless it's 4D, Super EMX, or someone randomly wants to see a movie and we see it randomly at some theater. The popcorn was pretty fresh and good though it doesn't beat Marcus theater's popcorn when it's done right. Even the slurpy machine wasn't out of order and putting out liquid slushie, constipated slushie, or nothing at all! We had a delicious cherry slurpie. Also, their pop seemed carbonated though maybe a lil' off and not at much carbonation to make it as sweet as I like! read more

We visited this recently opened location to see the new Mission Impossible in their EMX theater with the huge screen. Their concession area is run very smoothly. You line up in the queue, go up to an available employee and pick from a larger than normal menu for concessions, including a variety of popcorn options, fresh wood fired pizza, chicken tenders and more. The theater itself was great This will be our go to place from now on!!! read more

They wouldn't let my kids bring in their water bottles. Offered us water cups in place of them which have no lids. Greaaatttt I'll have my two year old drink water out of an open cup in a dark room. Been a lot of places that don't allow outside food, first time I've ever been asked to leave my water bottles in the car. The bag checks before entering the theater are completely sexist. I've seen the sign before, that they'll search your bag for outside food, but this is the first time I've seen it enforced here. The young man first checked the bag of an older woman before me, and she had a TINY wallet and phone sized cross-body bag on--what was she going to smuggle? A handful of Skittles? He then insisted on checking my small flat canvas tote that literally had wallet, phone, lip balm and pen inside it. No men were instructed to open their wallets or empty their pockets or remove their trucker hats to check for rogue cheeseburgers or wings. Having been a theater employee before, I understand what it is to clean someone's leftover crawfish heads and shells out of a seat, but this is stupid. Btw, a small Vitamin Water at this theater is $8, which is more than a six pack would cost at Jewel. One High Noon drink at the bar will run you around $17. And will someone PLEASE STOP THE DAMN PLAYER PIANO. It's hard enough on people trying to patronize this place, but it must be murder on the poor employees. The guy that owns the place thinks we want to see biographical features on him and his vision of the future before every show. WE DON'T. I'm done with this place. I live right near by, too, so it's a shame. read more

I was skeptical to go here for the first time but eager to see Gran Turismo. OMG the sound in this theater does not disappoint and it will take you on a thrill ride! It was also one of the best movies I have seen so far this year. I always take a jacket into the theater and emagine my surprise to find out the seats are heated! I will be back. I agree with most of the other bad reviews. Getting concessions was the most inefficient layout I've ever seen. We waited in a long line just to get popcorn and then had to wait in another long line to get a pop and then pay. It took ~20 minutes because there are too many touch points. Why not get container for popcorn/drinks and pay in one transaction? The seats are very comfortable but I will do my best to avoid this theater solely based on how long it takes to get popcorn and pop. It should not take that long. Entirely unacceptable. I will continue to go to NCG Cinema or Charlestowne Theater instead. read more

My wife and I have gone here no less than 6 times. When it was Goodrich we rarely went instead going to Tinseltown or Charstowne. Now we only go to Emagine. The place is beautiful, love the option of a bar, the selection of theaters is fantastic, the add of duckbowling and billiards is cool and the options for concessions are great. If there is a fault is that it can be a bit understaffed (but where isn't these days) and the sound from other movies can occassionally be heard. I do worry about the attendance given how easy it is to stream and hope it can survive. Going to a movie theater will always trump home so when we go it will always be here. read more

The first time there, the movie started, they reset everything back to the comercials. It ended up playing 30 minutes after the start time. Theaters were nice. The food was standard except their pizza, which was baked in a pizza oven. chicken was bagged precooked processed kind. All that effort to drop the bar could have been a reedeming factor. The prices are about as high as snoop dog. Soda machines are great. Overall, just wanted to try it since it's in my backyard. read more
