Tried out their U-Pick Vegetables and zinnias with my son today. It was a great time. We picked a mason jar's worth if zinnia's for $7. We also picked some San Marzano tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, carrots, and sweet peppers. I would love to buy some chicken eggs next time. My son also enjoyed feeding the goats and can't wait to come back to feed the chickens. All of the staff members were friendly, but Ken was amazing. Even my son said, "He was super nice!" read more

Since the new owners, Not Just Grass, bought the business from Tim Norris and his family and still use the Spring Bluff name, the quality of certain services has gone down. My recent experience is an example of this, I have been a long time customer since Mr. Norris owned the business; I was planning on continuing to use the services of the new owners/Not Just Grass as usual for all my landscape needs. Last April 2024, after working out details in March, I had old shrubs removed from the front of our house and new and different types planted. However, the work supervisor (Tyler) did not come with the work crew to lay out the planting plan, he had given them a work diagram, so unfortunately some of the shrubs were planted too deep, spacing was wrong on one side, and no soil amendments added, etc. I had asked for dirt and mulch to be added, but no mulch was added around the new plantings (I had to do a couple of bags myself around each plant later to help keep the soil moist after watering). They also left deep ruts in the yard/grass with equipment while removing the old, large yews. I contacted Tyler about the ruts and he did have them come back to fix that, however a year later now and the area is still sunken and no grass in spots (I will have to do a proper repair myself again). Tyler did not come back to supervise that original rut repair work. Flash forward to Spring 2025 in March, I contacted Tyler again because 1 of the shrubs had died last Fall (it was planted too deep) and another also looked dead at the time (before leaves started coming out), I let him know this and asked about replacement plants since they were under the 2 year plant warranty that Mr. Norris always provided and currently, Not Just Grass still honors. I never got a response, it was basically crickets. I sent text, e-mail, I called and left a message. I called the office and spoke to Kris who relayed my concern/messages on, but still no communication/follow-up from Not Just Grass/Tyler. Finally, I had run out of patience and had enough of the poor quality of service and called the owner, Greg V. (spoke to Kris again because he was out) and I also sent an email to the plant nursery. I explained to Kris and in my email(s) the lack of communication on their part and that I just wanted a replacement plant for the dead one (that I expected the same variety, a certain size to match the ones that did survive, and for it to be healthy), and that I would come to the nursery to pick it up myself. I also explained that I would be taking my business elsewhere from now on because of the poor service and quality of work. The owner did respond once in an email trying to tell me that Tyler had reached out on May 9, 2025 (nope, I never received a text, phone call or email from him and give me a break - May 9th 2025, when I had been trying to communicate with him since March 2025!!). The owner offered to have them come plant the replacement plant or I could pick it up as I had told them that was my plan. I replied that I hadn't heard from Tyler and that I would come pick it up and what I expected the quality to be, etc. When I went to pick up the plant, I was basically given the cold shoulder by Tyler (landscape supervisor) and Mackenzie (the plant nursery manager), I did see them, but they ignored Kris when she asked Mackenzie if she wanted to talk to me, Kris was told they were busy as they whizzed past us. Tyler indicated to us that the plant was down at the end of the nursery building. Kris, their Admin. who is basically in the office the majority of the time taking care of phone calls and orders, was actually the person who helped me find the plant (it did have my name on it) and load it into my car for me. The soil in the container was very dry, but that also made it easier to lift, and helped us out. I watered it well when I got home. So, there's my recent experience with this company (Not Just Grass) still using the Spring Bluff Nursery name, but not providing the quality of service, plant knowledge, and dependability that the former owners provided to their old and new customers. Also, their prices have gone up! It's just sad and no way to treat loyal customers! I have found another landscape company, thankfully, who have already planted the replacement shrub, added soil amendments, fixed the other planting that was struggling, and nicely mulched the area the way it should have been done last year. read more

Love Spring Bluff Nursery! A sweet little local place to find lovely plants and helpful staff! I will miss the old owners and the way they did things... including the U-Pick Garden... as I understand the nursery is under new management this year. This place is a hidden gem! They have plants, a u-pick garden, and animals to feed! (I think just goats). What I love is that they do not use any chemicals and you know your getting such great quality produce - also very affordable! You can also sign up for weekly produce pick up which I love. The family who owns Spring Bluff Nursery is amazing! These "unprecedented times" have resulted in a scarce supply of landscaping materials again this spring. Still, we found every person working here able to suggest alternatives if our original requests weren't currently available. Over the course of several visits, there were many customers requesting their guidance, but we were patiently shown many plants and had all of our questions answered every time. My husband and I live in sugar grove & have been customers as long as we've lived here (34 yrs). Truthfully I think the plants we have bought from other nurseries are pretty equal, and performed as well. He prefers to buy from local small businesses so ok that's what we usually do. We had a nice small streak so we decided to plant. We bought $200 in tomato & pepper plants which we planted. Unfortunately we had frost predicted so we covered the plants. Despite our precautions we lost 5 plants. We went back to purchase replacements & were scolded for planting too soon. Yes, we took a gamble. I thought they might have some sympathy & at least give us a discount on the replacement plants...not only did they not offer a discount or throw in a free one we were scolded. Not good business in my opinion. read more

In one word, fabulous! We called first because we were looking for a small maple tree and nice lady who answered kept us on the phone while she walked over to see if she had any that would work for our price range. She said they had a good selection and within the hour we were there chatting with her in person. She gave us some great pointers on what to look for when selecting a tree and gave us a lead time that seemed very reasonable. We paid for the tree to be planted and that includes the nursery calling Julie. Julie came and then we got a call from Henry telling us he was bringing our tree! He also gave us tips on how to care for it and was very great to work with. We named our new tree Henry. I totally recommend this company for your tree planting needs! read more

We go to Spring Bluff for our Christmas tree just about every year. Between the hayride, choosing and cutting down our own tree, and free hot chocolate, there is always fun to be had by all! Great family experience. read more

My family and I LOVE visiting Spring Bluff Nursery. They are very family friendly (toys for kids to play with while Mom and Dad shop) and laid back atmosphere. The community shared agriculture has been a great experience for us as well. We bought the half share last year and intend on doing so again this year. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful. There is also a pottery studio on site where Sue Norris displays her artisticaly crafted goods. They are great for gifts! We have not bought a tree from the nursery side of the business, but intend on doing so this year! read more

We have been shopping at Spring Bluff Nursery for trees, shrubs and plants for our yard for a couple of years now (and fresh eggs too), and when we decided we needed to do something about a persistent wet area in our yard, we decided to see if they could help us. Bob K. came out to assess the situation. Rather than just offer a single solution, Bob worked with us over a period of weeks to consider a range of alternatives which he had previous experience with and also some he'd researched with colleagues. And as a result, we were able to select the best approach for our needs and budget, which Bob and his crew subsequently implemented. i went to the nursery on Saturday. I had an idea of what I wanted, but not a solid answer. I looked around and then had a salesman help me out. He directed me towards exactly what I was hoping to find. He helped me check out and helped me load the tree Into my truck. I was very pleased with the price as well. *cut your own tree review only* we were a bit disappointed with the selection of Christmas trees available to cut. Most of the trees were brown and not very full. We left without a tree but did purchase a mantel piece in the store. The workers were all really nice and friendly. Unfortunately we will not return next year for a Christmas tree. read more

Found this company working in the neighborhood and was very impressed with the design of the landscape. Asked for an estimate and promptly received one. I was asked what plants I liked and the landscape design incorporated every single one of them. The work was speedy ( involved the removal of very old overgrown bushes). A very pleasant experience and very pleased with the work they did at our home... not to mention, reasonably priced. Another company that we found to have that perfect balance of professionalism..
