Overall, I really love this place and it's the only theater I'll go to. The food is very good and the staff is always friendly. My only one concern is the seats are starting to wear down and one time I went it actually rubbed off and got on my legs. I think it just depends where you sit. I will be returning though! :) read more

This was my first time at this theater and it was an overall good experience. We were greeted warmly upon entry and exit. I was also happy to see 2 people sweeping the floors and can report no sticky floors or seats. Food wise, it is typical theater food. Don't expect anything special. In our case, they were out of burgers and chicken sandwiches. read more

Very comfortable, reclining, and spacious seating. Whenever I want to see a movie I drive to Raleigh just to go to this theater. They allow reservations to be made so that you do not have to be stressed about getting a good seat and they have many food/beverage options. The food is a bit pricy and reserving the seats is often difficult. Sometimes it works and othertimes the program will not let me reserve seats even when they are available. I am not sure if I am using the wrong browser or if it is an issue with their website. Overall I will continue to return to this theater! read more

There are a few theaters closer to me than Raleigh Grande, but I happily drive past them for the best movie experience! So much to love: you can choose your seats online ahead of time, the price is lower than a closer theatre that just renovated (to be more like Raleigh Grande I presume), the in theatre food is decent, they serve wine and beer, clean theaters and restrooms even during busy evening shows, reclining leather seats that are in good condition, every staff member I've encountered has been kind and professional. Some theaters are smaller than others but I think that adds to the experience. You can actually hear the movie! Not too quiet not too loud. Plenty of parking, a couple of good dining spots nearby if you want to eat ahead of time. I might, might, try the renovated theatre in Wakefield but as it stands Raleigh Grande is the gold standard for a movie going experience! read more

First time visiting this movie theater and probably won't be returning. No one had informed us beforehand that the air conditioning in our theater wasn't working. We had already bought our food and drinks and didn't want to waste it so we decided to just watch the movie. It was so hard to pay attention with it being so hot in there. My dad had to step out several times to cool off. The leather on the seats were also very worn out and falling apart. The seat my brother was in was even leaning to one side. On the plus side the food was good. read more

This place has truly improved over the years. It's definitely one of my top go to theaters. I've been coming here for years and I love how it now has a great food and bar vibe going on so you can really enjoy your movie, that or fall asleep from the comfiness. If you order food you'll get a pager that will light up when your food is ready, and it's ready during previews before the movie starts. There is a small beer and wine list. And they now FINALLY have slushies- big deal. I love my experience every time. read more

Absolutely the WORST experience I have ever had in a movie theater or any public place for that matter. I was watching the movie in Screen 10 with my mom and sister when there was a MOUSE in the seat next to my mom going for the concession we had there. After moving seats, we saw MULTIPLE mice running back and forth in front of the screen and I heard them scurrying up near the ceiling. We left immediately. It was an AWFUL experience. Never again. read more

Extremely rude staff and very poor customer service. Wouldn't recommend to anybody at all.

The movie theater would be great but, the ac wasn't working and it was miserably hot.

Raleigh Grande 16 is a movie theater complex in Raleigh that has seen better days. The good news is that it offers stadium seating and is not too busy. The bad news is that it is worn down and I'm not sure they really care. My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - I want to believe that when Raleigh Grande 16 first opened it was packed. On my Monday night visit, it was an eerie ghost town. They had a small staff, and you had to go to the concession stand to get your ticket "torn". There is an arcade with decade's old outdated games. Thank goodness my wife was with me because at least she was someone I could interact with. No Stars. Service - Unfortunately they only had one person manning concessions which caused a delay just to get in. Sure, we could have probably gone straight to the theater since no one else was there, but we didn't want to break the rules. I hope it helped drive purchase of concessions because like I said, the theatre was empty. 1/2 Star. Facility - The good news is you can probably watch any movie you want here without a line. Also, I understand they serve alcohol, but we didn't purchase any. The stadium seats are nice and comfortable, the picture & sound are good, but the theater doesn't seem to have much upkeep. There was only one other person in our theatre, so it felt really bizarre. Luckily for me, we didn't encounter the major sanitary issues that other Yelp reviewers have posted, so perhaps they're getting the feedback. Still, the theatre served its purpose. 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Bottom line is that I can go here to watch any movie I want. Sure, it's a ghost town and has probably seen better days, but movie experience was good (picture/sound), the stadium seats comfortable, and I didn't encounter major cleanliness issues. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Facility - I'll award up to two stars for the facility, since this is the main reason we go out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the facility. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score. read more

Wow, I never knew the movie experience could be so great! Reclining chairs, plenty of room, individual tables and great tap selection so you can bring in your favorite beer! We purchased matinee tickets ($9/person) online a couple days in advance which was perfect. I highly recommend doing this as seats are assigned and you can skip the pressure of arriving early to make sure you've secured the perfect spot! You'll find the drafts to the left of the concessions area with pints going from $6 (16oz) to $8 (22oz), with mostly local options! The large, leather reclining seats are very comfortable! Each seat has a moveable table with cup holder. Make sure you know where the button to recline the seats is, I looked over half-way through the movie and only than realized that the seats were reclinable (once your legs go up, you'll never put them back down again!) Most enjoyable movie-going experience I've been to, and we didn't even try the food! I can't wait to return. read more

I love this theater. They show at least one independent movie. They have beer and wine. They have great popcorn. They have theater seating. It's close to my house. Really, the fact that they show independent flicks is what makes this movie house one top notch place. I have emailed them my gratitude and request to please not stop. Sometimes, there will be only a handful of people in the theater with the indie flick. I hope this does not dissuade them from continuing and that people will continue to flock to this place and eat lots of popcorn, and drink lots of drinks, to keep the money flowing... read more

I really enjoy going to the Raleigh Grande. This summer this was the movie theater to go to during the day. As far as I could find, they were the ONLY theater with FREE kids movies playing. The other places were charging $1 or $2 for admission. Since this is a smaller theater and not a chain, they don't have as many rules to follow so they have different options for food and beverages. One of those options that many people enjoy are the tasty beverages in the beer and wine section. They are not a chain, but they do put on quite a show. read more

I've been a movie club member for a bit, and this theater is right down the street so I come here often. This was probably my most dissatisfied visit to date. Considering this was the opening day for Mary Poppins Returns, I expected better service. Doors didn't open until nearly 10 minutes until showtime. Had I not been the first in line, I would have been caught behind the dozens of people behind me and wouldn't have had time to order food. I'm assuming that's why so many people were walking into the theater late. I ordered my food at 10:18am. When the previews were nearly done, I hadn't received my food yet. I stepped out and was told by a female employee, maybe manager, who told me there were problems with the kitchen and that I would get my food before my movie started. I walked back in and waited for my truffle fries. This was probably my most dissatisfied visit to date. I saw the same female employee talking to the two concessions employees. The manager asked what I ordered, and apparently my food was sitting there for a bit. She told me that they didn't know who the food belonged to. So, I received my fries, which were lukewarm. This is an incredibly disappointing experience. I expected better. I missed part of my movie and had to walk up and down stairs to check on my food. I feel like I wasted this month's movie credit and will reconsider my movie club membership. There was a gross lack of consideration for the inconvenience this caused me. The fact you couldn't keep track of orders, and my pager never went off. I do wonder how long I would have been sitting there without my food had I not gone into the lobby. read more

I love this place! Its right next to Lynnwood Grill and Flying Burrito for a drink, its got excellent and comfy high-backed stadium seating, and the beer and wine is cheaper than soda!! We love to head out here for a night out, and its a real shame we don't live close by. read more

My first review was when they hadn't started the kitchen yet. Right now, they have everything! I just came here again last night. I was first a little nervous since it looks like Cinemark bought them. We were worried the management would also change. But we found everything is the same as before! It keeps as our favorite movie theater in triangle. We like to share it with our friends and ALL of our friends become huge fans as well! It becomes our ONLY theater to go, even though we have to drive 20-30 minutes! Seats: The recliner seats are so cozy that people could choose to take a comfortable nap here if the movie is disappointing! The seats here are bigger and softer then other recliner theaters in this area. Each row is blocked by board at the right hight so that you can still see the full screen but can't see anyone in front of you. It makes me feel like a private room. The handle between two recliners could be raised up, which makes it much easier for couples to snuggle with each other during the movie. If you want to snuggle, make sure you choose the two chairs that are together, say D1 and D2. The handle between D2 and D3 cannot be raised. When making reservations online, their website shows you which two seats are together, which is very good! Food and drink: they have kitchen now and you can order food at counter before going to the show room. They serve BEER ANF WINE! It's much better than just the soda! THE PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE! Comparing to $5 for a bottle of water in some theater, this place is awesome! 16 oz beers are $6 and 22 oz beer are $8, just a little higher than regular restaurant price! I was surprised when I first knew their price of snack and drinks. Their food is regular bar food. I have to say the quality of food is not great, but acceptable. You can't expect much for a movie theater. If you are coming in Friday or Saturday night, make sure you book online, especially if it's a new movie! The seats run out quickly! We came here in a SUNDAY night when Zootopia was just on show. We booked the tickets in the morning and found only few seats left for couples. When we went there, it was full and a couple next to us had to sit separately because they didn't book in advance. Although you need to pay extra couple of dollars if book online, it's worth it! read more

I only saw on review that mentions the gross stained seats maybe it's only in one theater or they got to the move when the lights were down. Took me a good 5 mins to find two seats in the empty theater that was not full of stains. Green seats with really really really bad black stains. You can hear the audio from the adjacent movie which gets to be annoying if the other movie is loud which it was. We also had two people smoking while watching the movie not sure if that is a NC thing or not since I'm new to he state. Too grossed out by the seats and floor it's not like this is a .99 theater. read more

Okay, I grew up being dropped off at this theater with friends to enjoy the latest flick that had just come out. I have since then grown up and moved away. I came back recently and decided to go check out a flick with a friend. We went the other night and wow has this theater changed! First off walking in seems the same, but once I got the theater my film was showing I was shocked. The seats were disgusting. I check every chair in every row and could barely find any that were clean. They all had brown stains all over them. I did not feel comfortable sitting in any of the chairs. I almost walked out and asked for a refund. I decided to stick it out because I wanted to see the film I paid to see. I ended up sitting on my jacket (thank goodness I brought one, since it's usually chilly in the theaters). Needless to say I doubt I will ever go back here. The cleanliness was just not up to par. read more

This theatre is getting a 4/4. But to be more precise the seats are getting a 5/5 but the food service is a 3/5 and actual food is a 2/5 The seats are amazing, perfect luxury style movie experience. Reclining, reserved seating is the only way to go. Also serving beer was a plus. The food: AWFUL. Terribly overpriced for what you get. $9 for popcorn that's awful. Not to mention you cannot order from the seats which most theater with luxury seating allow you to do. We had chicken tenders, chips & queso, and Carolina fries. None of it was good. They need a serious culinary improvement if they want to keep up with those prices. I will not be going back, unless I bring my own food. And they need to offer in movie dining service!!! read more

It's close to my home. They have alcohol. And everytime I go, I get the theatre to myself? Winning! Aside from the fact that I believe movie tickets have become overpriced, I'm still a sucker for the whole feel of it. Kind of like reading an actual book versus an e-read. Anywho, I would like to bring to ones attention that they do not accept student discounts on the weekends, not even Sundays. (shrugs) Staff is always nice and seats are comfy but don't recline. Meh.. read more

After seeing a movie here, I just don't see myself going to a traditional movie theater again. I've been spoiled by this place. First of all when you buy a ticket you buy it for a specific seat. So you know exactly where you're going to be sitting regardless of how early or late you get there. And if you check online or order online you can even see which seats are available so you don't have to guess if there will be enough seats or if it'll be packed, you'll know. The seats themselves are amazing. They're comfortable power reclining leather chairs grouped together in twos. They have a swivel tray on the armrest as well as cup holders. There are walls behind and I front (that you can clearly see the screen over) of each row so you can't see people sitting behind or in front of you. You can see people beside you but unless they're in the other seat of your two seated group then there's plenty of distance. It makes watching the movie feel private and comfortable, unlike the crammed traditional ones where people put their feet on the back of your chair and you have to lean away from the stranger next you taking up the armrest. The concessions are mostly typical: popcorn, soda, and candy at prices higher then you'd ever otherwise pay for those. But the sizes you get when you buy them at least make you feel like you're getting what you pay for a little bit. The large soda and popcorn are enormous. They also have actual food and adult beverages you can order as well, although I have yet to try those. The best part is the price though. They don't charge far more then other movie theaters I've been to. They cost pretty much the same and on discount day even less then the other places. Why would I spend the same amount of money to be less comfortable and gamble on where my seat will be if I'm running late? Basically, if given the choice I will always see a movie here. Even if it wasn't as close as it is to me, I would be willing to drive to come see a movie here over a typical theater. read more

I've never been a huge movie-goer. Oh I've been to see hundreds in my years, but all cinemas are the same. Or so I thought. This location definitely upped the ante. The reclining seats are so comfortable my back doesn't hurt! The refillable popcorn and drink special is perfect for our large family. (We get three so two people share at any given time.) To be able to have a glass of wine or beer-nice touch too! The women's restrooms were clean as well. Every employee I have come across there was kind and mannerly. The overall cleanliness is great as well. I've never had to clean off my chair when arriving. The best part is how you can reserve and choose your seat. It makes it so you don't feel the need to rush to get there super early to get a better pick of your seats. You already have it, already know you can sit next to the rest of your party and it's simple! Makes the evening smooth, enjoyable and worthwhile. Oh, and we are coming back for more! read more

Went to see Deadpool and was impressed by the theater. Pros - 1. Lots of open register for concession stand which results in no waiting in lines. 2. Most comfortable reclining leather seats with two cup holders and tray. These are the best seats I have seen in Raleigh. 3. Clean theatre with friendly service. Huge selection of beer and wine which includes local brewery selection too. Lot of vegetarian food option which you don't find anywhere else. Really impressed by their menu. Cons - 1. The number of seats compared to a regular movie theater are lot less and they get sold out quick online specially for new releases. So to get the best seats book your tickets online in advance. 2. My food (French fries) were cold and was disappointed. All in all still a 5 star place and one of the finest and comfortable movie theater. read more

I don't go out to movie theaters too much anymore. I am more of a stay at home and Netflix and chill kind fo a guy. Having said that I was in North Raleigh and had a few hours to kill on a hot Sunny afternoon so I decided to partake in a matinee at the Raleigh Grande 16. One new thing (for me) is that you pick your seat prior to ordering a ticket via their seating chart screen. This theater has the typical popcorn/candy and drinks but also other food menu items and beer. Bring that is what just mid-afternoon I stuck with the tried and true hot buttered popcorn and drink which was typically overpriced and unhealthy but oh well you have to get popcorn at a movie amiright? (plus you get free drink refills on soda). The theater is clean, the people working there that I encountered were all nice and helpful and the seats are very comfortable and stadium style. I liked the movie I saw (Incredibles 2) and I would definitely go back to the Raleigh Grande when seeing my next movie in the theater. read more

This is such a great way to watch a movie. Love seat recliners, we could raise the middle armrest to snuggle. If you want to make sure you get good seats, reserve them online. There's a $1 service fee per ticket, but worth it. Ticket prices are $11 prime time or $8 matinee, where they make their money is the concession, like most theaters. The menu is extensive for a movie theater, but this time we just got popcorn, which was pretty normal movie theater popcorn. There is a nice little lounge are to hang out in before the movie with some table video games. So, you'd think this would be a five star review, and it would have been except for two things. Two important things. #1 -Soundproofing - The theaters are thin-walled apparently. We could hear the movie in the theater next to us (Star Wars) quite clearly. We were there to see The Witch, which has some very quiet moments, and it was very distracting and took away from quite a few suspenseful moments in the movie. #2 - The cleanup crew was waiting in the hallway to clean up after the movie, and I guess they couldn't care less that people were still watching the end of the movie because we could clearly hear them horsing around and cracking jokes while we were trying to watch the end of the movie. Raleigh Grande needs to stress to their clean up crew to zip it while the movie is still playing, it's just plain thoughtless and rude . If it weren't for those 2 things I probably would have rated this 4.5 - 5 stars. I hope management reads this and addresses these issues. I'd still go back, the recliners are really a nice way to watch a movie, but there's some work to be done here to make it a truly stellar venue. read more

Movie watchers in Raleigh, rejoice! Raleigh Grande was an absolutely amazing experience. From getting the tickets, to finishing the movie --- Raleigh Grande has it all. I personally love the fact that they off online ticket purchase. This way, you are free to buy out an entire row of seats if you have a large group of people watching a movie with you. Sure, there is a $1 convenience charge, but it's well worth the trouble that you save. The seats are unfathomably comfortable, and the theater is so spacious. The seats are arranged so couples can sit comfortably together, but if not, there are arm rests that can create some sense of privacy. Did I mention the seats are RECLINABLE? Oh, and it's super comfortable as well. And it's comfortable. Did I mention that the seats are comfortable? Oh and more, the seats are super comfortable to the point where I almost fell asleep watching the movie. On a more serious note, it's awesome to see such a run-down cinemas (from what my friends said) renovate to become one of the best theaters in the triangle area! Additionally, it's an affordable $6 on Tuesdays! Considering that most cinemas with "not-as-good" seating offer their tickets for nearly $10-$11, Raleigh Grande is the place to go! Unfortunately, I live in Chapel Hill so visiting Raleigh Grande regularly will be somewhat difficult... but it is a drive I am willing to make! read more
