We love the luxury seats here! I've become a little spoiled with the luxury seats and hate going to the movies without them now! This theatre is so new and nice and I can't wait to see more movies here! As a soda snob though I will say I wasn't a huge fan of their soda... it lacked carbonation and was heavy on the syrup. My movie theater of choice is the Jordan Commons Megaplex, though that is owing to its proximity to my home more than anything else. Cinemark's concessions suffer in comparison, but they do offer more than the bare minimum, and I thought the bulk candies were a decent deal (for a theater, that is). Personally, it doesn't really matter as I only partake in popcorn (theirs was the same as anywhere else), and sneak in the rest of my snacks and treats (shhh!). I pre-ordered tickets, then suffered through their automated ticket computer, which is only halfway responsive, times out, and requires you to type in a looooong confirmation number even though your confirmation email has a QR code. Why?? You can pick up pre-paid tickets at the desk, but there was only one person working, and a decent line. I came here because it was the nearest place participating in Studio Ghibi Fest (Totoro!), and all the seats in that theater, at least, were luxury recliners, so I think that may be the case for all of Cinemark Draper, though don't hold me to that. It is nice and clean and appeared newer, prices were on par with comparable theaters, so really they had anything I feel strongly about. read more

Oh Cinemark Draper, how wonderful of a place you are, but yet so bad. I've came here a couple of time before, but this time was the worse. There was just so many things wrong with it. I do understand with a huge movie coming out and everyone being excited to see it, but the theater was a bit empty when we were there. That wasn't the only empty things. The ice cream selection was practically empty, with no plans on refilling. The staff working there was practically all gone. We had to hunt for one down. There was two behind the counter, three goofing off somewhere, and one behind the ticketing. A group of people got tired of waiting for someone to take their ticket, so they just walked in. The bathroom was in a horrible mess. I know sometimes things gets out of hand and the staff needs time to get everything back into order, but even after the movie, the bathroom looked the same. It's like the staff just stopped caring. The seats was the same. It can recline and be all comfortable. Sound system amazing and the screens were clear. read more

I was wary of going to a theater during a pandemic, but safety regulations were being strictly enforced and the theater felt very safe. Everyone was wearing masks (except when eating), and we had the entire row for ourselves so nobody was near us. Everything is cleaned after each show and bathrooms are cleaned every 30 minutes. The seats are very comfy, and you can recline them. The theater was also in very good shape. I have no complaints. read more

It's alright. In a world where movie theaters have all become supersized, it's nice that this flick house hasn't taken the already extreme to the extreme. While some theaters may soon feature spas, personal popcorn shoppers and cushioned beds instead of chairs, this newish theater in Draper isn't going overboard. I mean, it's still nice. Those leathery pleathery seats were really quite comfy. And it's a massive building, but it's just there to be a move house. No restaurants, no sideshow. Just the main show. Big, stadium seating theaters with big crisp screens. There are refreshments--a whole section of 'em. Just mosy in, walk the gauntlet of sweet, salty, frozen (ice cream, Icees) and then pay at the end before you pop out at the main ticket-taking checkpoint. Parking is fine. You've got lots of lot out there. And ticket prices are par for the valley. It's just a little tricky to get to. We tried to enter from State Street and ended up going all the way to 123rd and then breaking the law in an illegal left to just get where we wanted to go. But once you're there you've got a billion other shopping opportunities around if you're interested. read more

I really despise the new reserved seating concept that's popping up at so many theaters nowadays (including this one). Call me crazy, but I like to choose my seat based on the other patrons in the theater (texting teens, talking old folks, dude wearing too much Axe body spray, etc.) and the size of the screen in proportion to the seats. All theaters are different so sometimes sitting in the back is too far back and sitting down front is too neck-hurty. This Cinemark has smaller auditoriums than most but the screen size, digital projection and sound system is good. The theaters have swanky black leather seats that look cool but you do end up with sweat butt by the time the movie is over. Nice stadium seating layout means you'll have a good view of the screen. They earn a bonus star for their amazing concessions! Every time I've been to this theater, even on slow weeknights or afternoons, the friendly employees always pop fresh popcorn (and wow, is it tasty)! Best of all, they have their own SELF SERVE BUTTER FLAVORED GREASE machines where you can load up your popcorn with all the oily deliciousness you desire! They have my favorite soda, Coke Zero, at the self-serve fountain too. read more

I have been going to Cinemark Draper for quite awhile and waiting for the right moment to write a review. I have hesitated due to the pros and cons of this theater. On the positive side, I love the seats! Hands down this is my favorite theater to enjoy a movie, however the con is they are disorganized. On a Friday or Saturday, there seems to be a huge line to purchase tickets and/or purchase concessions with limited staff. My suggestion would be to hire more people for these areas or don't charge for online tickets. As a Cinemark member I feel there really is no value to this program. You need a lot of points in order to get anything, and I have been a member for over a year. They do have a new program, but it's like $8.00 a month and doesn't seem like it's worth the monthly charge. I wish there was more value to either one of these programs so until then I will enjoy just the seating. read more

Over all, I do like this theater. The location is convenient with plenty of parking, the interior is very modern and the assigned seating is great and I love the reclining seats. The Cinemark member program is decent and encourages going to the theater more often, and you can extend your concessions discounts to a friend who is with you. That being said, there are things I'm not a fan of. One of the most blatant is that for a place with assigned seating, their immediate theater (7) doesn't have any of the row letters anywhere. Now you could be like me and count the rows to know that row 'E' is the fifth row. However I sat through a few different groups of people who came in after me and would stop and try to figure out where in the world the row letters were, and I'd inform them that where I was is 'E' and they could find it from there. Someone actually asked me how I knew I was in 'E', so perhaps counting the rows isn't as obvious a solution to everyone, and letters should simply be put down to mark the rows so people can find their seats. I'm not a fan of the concessions area setup. I understand the concept is more open so a few employees can handle getting food behind the counter and whatnot while others do the ringing up, but it's very awkward to get somewhat funneled into the register area where you're standing with your hands full, and only when you reach the counter is when you can put your items down so you can get out your payment information, and if you're like me, open your phone up so you can get your 20% off for being a Cinemark member. As someone who has worked in the movie theater, I would have never been allowed to leave a theater with visible mess like I saw. It seemed the cleaning crew only just cleared the isles so people could walk, but we were always told to sweep 'under' the seats as well, and that was back when theaters had more seating than they do now (standard seats, not recliners). So I go in and I can clearly see someone's left behind popcorn bag shoved under the seat. When I had arrived, ten minutes before my showtime, I was told my theater was still being cleaned. So I'm left to wonder if they're giving enough time between movie lineups for the staff to properly clean, especially for the Marvel films where many audience members are going to sit through the end of the credits, meaning staff can't get in to clean as quickly. Final note, if you arrive and want to use the restroom 'before' getting all your concessions, you have to show your ticket to get to the restrooms first, then come back out and do concessions, and then go back in. That seems rather awkward for solo viewers who don't want to leave their concessions alone to make the bathroom trip prior to the movie. I would go to this theater again, for sure. Nothing can really be done about the concession area setup or the bathroom location, but it could be more clean, and it could be easier to navigate by putting down row letters. read more

Zero stars would be better. They don't deserve even one. Horrible staff and management. Little girls in the theater watching ticktock, talking, flashlights, literally doing handstands in their seats!!! I asked for assistance once.... No one ever came. Went out again, complained directly to the manager.. nothing!!! What a complete waste of money. So frustrated. Those kids should have been ejected and their parents shamed for raising such monsters. First visit to this theater. I've been a fan of Cinemark for the past little while, this theater did not disappoint. The setup of the lobby isn't my favorite, but the flow is easy enough I guess. Ticket purchases to the left, slightly left and straight forward is the concession stand. The workers there were not very enthused. I think the movie deal for $8 a month is pretty reasonable and we have been apart of that club in the past, it's a steal. You also get 20% of concessions, which in my opinion every little bit counts. The theater we were in was nice, looked pretty clean, the nice comfy chairs that recline, with plenty of space left in front of them for people to walk past if necessary. It was nice. The movie was great and as we exited there were about 3 employees holding the doors for people as they waited for everyone to exit so they could clean. I found that impressive. The concessions area of this theater is a mess, in every possible way. The counters and floor are filthy. Yes, people are slobs but where is the cleaning crew? Also, the ordering and payment process is confusing and clumsy, leading to long lines and traffic jams. This is our go-to theater! Not only because it's less than 5 minutes away from our house but it's also a really nice theater because every single theater has luxury seating. Considering we are avid movie goers, the $10 refillable cup for fountain drinks has become a great movie companion. Besides on opening nights or $5 Tuesdays, there's always room to squeeze in a last minute movie. There are certain aspects that could use improvements. For example, the outside ticket kiosks are almost always out of service. There's not that many options for food compared to Megaplex. The theater size is smaller so there are fewer options of showings than compared to bigger theaters like Jordan Commons Megaplex. Lastly, the portions on the ice cream is a joke lol. However, improvements aside, the hero of this place is the theater itself, and the luxury seats and less crowdedness warrants for no less than 4 stars. read more

I've been coming to this theater for years. I got off work late and was meeting my family for a 8:30 showing. I didn't get there until 8:54. The doors were locked. There was 5 teenagers working . One saw me outside as I was waving, he looked a his coworker and then looked at me and shrugged and went back to cleaning the popcorn machine. I was outside for about 10 mins before I got the manager's attention. She saw me and mouthed "what the f***". And told me one minute. She then said they close 20 mins after the last showing. Which I understand. I even understand the shrugging from the teenager. But the attitude I received from the manager?! Ridiculous. I was a manager at a restaurant & would have never ever mouthed those words right in front of the customer. No wonder the teens at this theater act the way they do when their manager is that way as well. read more

This theatre is smaller than most, with a very small and limited "standard" snack selection. That said, the entire theatre has been upgraded to recliner seats and because it is smaller it means those upgrades limit theatres to like 40 seats, which I personally liked. If this theatre had a better concession offering, it would be an ideal theatre. read more

Things to know before you go. Unlike Jordan Megaplex, Cinemark will not honor the loyalty popcorn tub... you know, the one you paid for at the beginning of the year. Come ready to pay full price for popcorn. There is an added charge for using the Cinemark app to book tickets, it used to be free, so add an additional $3.75 to book tickets online. There are no free refills with the purchase of a large soda, so prepare to pay an extra $3.50 for a refill. Time to finish the home theater. read more

Honest Review Here. Pros: Great seating! Every seat is a synthetic leather recliner. And every seat has a pretty good view so no one feels as though they are too off center. The screens are not huge, but more than adequate given the size of the room and your distance from the screen. It's fairly clean. Screens, dispite their size are of good quality. Employees are nice and the popcorn is fresh. Cons: The Sound! This location along with Megaplex at Thanksgiving Point suffer from poor audio. For example, it was our 2nd time seeing The Greatest Showman and honestly it was so quiet I could here people whispering, no breathing from a few rows away. It's Ridiculous. We asked twice to turn up the volume and sadly they did nothing. It really takes away from the experience especially with a musical like Greatest Showman. Advice: Don't go here anymore. If you want good sound go to Megaplex Theaters at The District, Megaplex Theaters at Jordan Commons, & Cinemark Movies 9. Some genius modified the way we buy candy and soda. Now you order your Large Pop Corn or Nachos, you have to fill your glass of soda yourself, grab some napkins and straw. Then after you are loaded you have to make a line stepping into spilled soda (see photos) and you have to do some juggling to take out your wallet and pay . The concessions area had all the food items available even though it was only the first showing of a Sunday morning. Theatre was clean and not too crowded. The only complaint was that the theatre itself was very cold. My wife was curled into a ball and on the verge of shivering. 3 stars. This may sound a bit harsh for a local theater, but I will explain why. There are so many amazing movie theaters in the salt lake and surrounding areas, that it becomes tough to give your business to a theater with high prices and lower quality. The pros: -There's usually no long lines -There's always a fair amount of seats to choose from -Most of their snacks they make fresh -The cup holders/arm rests move (you can move them if you would like to sit closer to your date). -Ample parking space -Large selection of movies and times -They have Ice cream (8+ flavors) -Arcade (it's expensive) The cons: -The prices are equivalent to the large theaters here (same as the ones that have restaurants, VIP, Gaming, etc). -I have never been here when they had fresh popcorn (it always tastes a few hours old) -The bathrooms are never clean and I can't count how many times I've ran out of paper! -The movie chairs are uncomfortable (they are leather and hard) -The service is awful (mostly younger kids that seem to dislike their jobs) -The snacks/drinks are insanely expensive (I paid $6.00 for a small fountain drink) If this cinema re-trained their staff, to ALWAYS put the customer first and learn to love their job....I feel like this would eliminate a good portion of the problem. A business can be expensive....but if they have good customer service: customers will keep coming back and stay loyal! I was a bit annoyed with the prices here this evening. I paid 10$ per ticket, 6$ for a small fountain drink and 5$ for pretzel bitez. So, $31.00 for an evening movie (AT A SMALL LOCAL THEATER THAT HAS UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS). I do hope that some of these problems are fixed soon. This theater is the closest and most convenient location to my home. Overall I would not recommend to anyone. Personally, I love not having to drive to The District for a good movie theater experience anymore. The staff is always extremely helpful here, and the prices are the same as any other Cinemark. The last movie we saw here, I ended up dropping my order of pretzel bites all over the floor and the ticket taker grabbed, his headset, said "bring over another order of pretzel bites," and it was so. It was like magic. I love the fancy pleathery seats. This theater is always very clean and very ...classy? It's just nice inside. And the bathrooms are clean too - booyah. If you want lots of selection on refreshments, The District is far better (including the amazing Freestyle Coke machines!) But this is a good theater all in all, and very conveniently located, and usually not scary-crowded. read more

Two and a half stars with benefit of the doubt = 3 stars. I compare every theatre to The District's awesome Megaplex - my benchmark for excellence in theatry. Yes, theatry. The first thing you notice here is that Draper's newest movie house is quite nicely appointed. Old Hollywood style furnishings make it feel just as a movie theatre should. Each showing-room features tiered seating with reclining pleather seats, which is nice for those patrons concerned with whatever substances are left behind from the last occupant. More sanitary than cloth. Yes, you can reserve your specific seat, either on the spot or online ahead of time. Ticket prices are the same as you'll find at any other full-price theatre. And this is where the equality ends. I have a few gripes...please, indulge me: - Seating is TIGHT. Overall smaller seats offer much less leg room. Plan on having your seat kicked regularly from behind through no real fault of your neighbors. If you happen to be taller than 4' 6", and enjoy the upper center front row where you can normally recline and put your feet up on the railing, good luck. The railing is approximately 4 inches from your knees. It's not possible to get comfortable this way here. - Restrooms are sparce. There's one per wing, pretty much. If you hold it too long, awaiting a lull in your movie - or God forbid, the end - you'd better hope you're in a theatre close to one of their two (?) restrooms. And if there's a line - and there's always a line - keep your drink cup handy. - Popcorn is subpar. In fact, their entire menu is subpar. There are so few choices for movie munchies here. And it's every bit as pricey as the much better offerings at The District. Also, their popcorn "envelopes" are so flimsy I always feel like without the support of two-handed carrying, I will surely drop and lose the entire thing. - They employ eleven year olds. I'm sure they're probably legal, but that's what it seems. Due to lack of life experience, or improper training, these employees are not even capable of giving appropriate customer service. Our munchies check-out boy attempted to upsell their current candy offer by asking, "Uh, you wanna get candy for two more dollars?" and pointed to the promo poster. Tempting. We went with no. Our first visit to this theatre was gratis. Following visits have been because we have friends with free tickets to use. But for our money, we will always choose The District; even though Draper is more conveniently located. read more

Customer service sucks! They didn't even bother to look into refunding tickets for a movie I had to miss. I tried to ask them if there was anything they're able to do and the woman working flat out ignored me and started helping the next person as if I wasn't standing in front of her. Just flat out rude. I went to this cinemark in draper expecting to be impressed by theater as i thought this was a relatively new cinemark in town. However i was left disappointed with ambience For starters i felt that either the distance between screen and seats even those at back of the theater or the sound proofing inside the theater is bad because at the end of my movie i ended up with a headache. I had a gift ticket so not sure of price but i heard it was high and comparable to megaplex theaters , if so then i would rather go to megaplex and have a better movie viewing experience than end up having a headache. The ambience was not upto what i would expect considering what i have seen at cinemark 24 in jordan landing.It was dull and boring to say the least The rest rooms were not clean either as was theater itself with popcorn lying all over the ground near where i sat. The service appeared poor with the guy at the ticket counter especially seeming to be extremely disinterested in his job (maybe because it was sunday evening). The good thing however was no lines and more importantly good parking space but again i went on a sunday so that does have to be taken into account. The location is odd considering that it pretty much shares a parking lot with a hotel on one side and strip mall across a small road on the other. read more

I frequent this theater and wouldn't hesitate to see any movie here. There are some theaters out there that I would see a comedy on but not a big budget film. I would be happy to see any move here. I admit, when there is a big time movie I find myself buying an IMAX ticket elsewhere. Outside of that, their XD theater is great and they keep their entire theater very nice. Their concessions are what you would expect at any theater. I don't have anything above and beyond to say there. Special pricing on Tuesdays is a big deal, I love that. I don't think it's on the menu but on Mondays if you have three of more people you get "family," pricing which I think is matinee. I'm not sure which days qualify but they also have Early Bird pricing for the first showing of a movie. I'm not 100% but that could be a on weekdays only. Or even Mon-Thur only. read more

So let's start with the obvious, there aren't a lot of food choices. That being said it's not that much less than your average theater. I mean, you have your basics. Concessions and ice cream. So, that is the only negative thing I have to say. Let's move on to the rest! The service is awesome, the staff is friendly and ready to help out and wait on you. They get tasks done {ie. getting you popcorn or ice cream} quickly. The theaters themselves are nice, the pleather seats are great and are super comfortable. Plus they actually recline! Some chairs in movie theaters don't and that can make for a long movie if you can't bend backwards a little bit. The screens are nice and big and there is a good amount of leg room, not so squished! Cinemark has the best seats in the SLC area. I like to go on Tuesday's the only other movie theater that I like (that's not Cinemark) is the on Sandy near the Real SL stadium. I usually come to Cinemark at draper when I want to enjoy food seats and affordable prices. read more
